Just try.. explain your situation, worst they can say is no...the issue now is from what i've heard, they are not responding to expedited requests.

I missed my first appointment due to DS-160 ISSUES and there are no dates to shedule another appointment, Can i schedule an expedite appointment with my former appointment date since I can see the create emergency button or I need to reschedule another appointment first?

Helping someone with booking and the ONLY date that has been showing up on his end for the past 10hrs is Dec 29 2026. Is that only him or is anyone else seeing this? What's strange isnt the fact that the date is far away, it's that it's the ONLY date that has been showing up for over 10 hrs.

How long before they granted your request?

Your request will be granted without paying SEVIS fee, it isn't compulsory. I did it and it was approved, I only paid my SEVIS fee few days to the interview. Be patient, your emergency request will be approved.
There are no dates, you just need to be wait.

I believe your sevis fee is okay, as long as you don't plan to transfer it to another university, since you only have 12 months to do so... but it generally shouldn't expire if you are going to the same university.

Have you heard from the consulate after expediting your appointment request.

Next available slots are July 2026..over one year from now. Most people will have to defer since I've only heard of one emergency request approval.

The are scheduling appointments already

After you pay and book, go to "My Dashboard" , then you'll see your appointment there...click view details, and after that you'll see "create emergency request".. From there it's straight forward.

You need to first book a regular appointment, then request for an emergency appointment.

I am hearing very minimal success with emergency requests but go ahead and try, you dont have any other option.

Also, FYI the next available open dates/slots for Lagos are in end June 2026..no dates in Abuja.

You're fine. As you mentioned, the passport only needs to have 6 months validity from visa issue date.
When you renew, just make sure to travel with both passports.

No, it wont show. The only way you'll know if it has been approved is when you receive an email stating either approval or denial. Then after you'll be asked to reschedule your appointment.

I haven't heard of anyone being successful with emergency requests.

On my Dashboard, under my My visa requests click on "View Details"..then you'll see " Create Emergency request.

Please note that you need to first book a regular appointment. Good luck!

football. Most Universities are no longer requesting SAT's ...but it will depend on the Uni. My process was smooth because after the coach offered me the scholarship, he was able to take care of most of the processes on campus.
Yes, make a high quality highlight video that showcases your skills well..also provide high quality full game footage. It's very straight forward since most coaches contacts are online..there are also people who sell a whole combined list, which can save you alot of time since you can mass message the coaches.

To be honest I didnt do anything special.
Create a highlight video..luckily I had just graduated HS so I was eligible per NCAA rules...keep sending the highligh video to all coaches until you find one that wants you.

1. Yes all students who have done the needful (paid sevis fee, completed ds 160, paid mrv successfully, and date-sign form i20) that I know have been able to secure an appointment.

2. There is no preference, but Lagos post have more population of students than Abuja. Therefore, in my personal experiences, the possibility of getting a date at the Abuja post is very very high than Lagos.

Just received my I-20 (fully funded athletic scholarship). I am in the process of completing the DS-160 and Visa Appointment. I have a few questions
1. With the ongoing issues, has anyone been lucky to book a slot lately?
2. Is there a preference/availability of more slots between Abuja and Lagos?
