FirTreeMan:How many demons have you completed so far? |
Dexy4yah:There's nothing wrong with keeping long nails. It's personal style. |
So you're really having sleepless nights over this? Not long ago, soft and manicured hands were a mark of wealth and aristocracy. Only peasants had rough, dirty hands. Seems like you enjoy suffering, perhaps you're even into BDSM. |
GreatAchiever1:Not everyone is a Christian. And not everyone should be made to model their lives after the Bible/Quran. |
Zairee:I wish I could help, but I don't know who to call or where to go. Besides I'm just an ordinary student doing my best to survive. |
GreatAchiever1:Kleptomania is an impulse control disorder, not a sexual identity. Kleptomania can be treated by counselling and therapy. Homosexuality cannot. You simply cannot "pray the gay away" or drag your son to a church for deliverance because he happens to prefer dolls to trucks and race cars. Conversion therapy has been found to have very damaging effects on gay individuals. The effects can last a lifetime. The stigma and shame might never go away because you, as a parent were forcefully insistent that something was "wrong" with your child. Your child is a human being. Your child has emotions and your child has feelings. Your child is not simply an extension of your own body and mind. You can train a pet to behave properly but you cannot forcefully instill your own values and ideals in another human being. I know parents have expectations for their children, but sometimes, things won't go as planned; and that is completely okay. It's high time we started listening to our children and treating them as one of our own. |
Destroying a historical artifact for just another generic statue of Christ. |
Nigeria is a very conservative country which is heavily steeped in religion. This is why our society is intensely homophobic. Most of the hatred stems from the ignorance and hatred which is propagated by religious leaders all over the country. Homophobic rhetoric is drilled into the minds of young children right from the moment they can speak and understand words. I've observed this first hand. I live in a typical 'face me, I slap you' neighborhood. My neighbours collectively happen to have a lot of children, all of them ranging from ages 6 to 13. They all come out in the late afternoon everyday to play after school. There's this kid that particularly piqued my interest (Let's call him Miracle) Miracle is the kind of child you would call "different" He is rather effeminate in nature, but he is very intelligent and speaks with an air of quiet authority. A lot of his mates constantly make fun of the boy because he's "girly" At first, it was just light teasing, but over time, it has escalated into much more aggressive and straight up bullying. They constantly call him names like "woman wrapper" and "homo" I can't help but feel sad for the kid. To make matters worse, his father is a violent jerk who constantly beats him up, perhaps to "straighten" his son. The kid is always downcast and appears much more quiet than usual. The sparkle in his eyes is fading. All of this shit will accumulate and will intensely screw the kid up by the time he's a young adult. I don't want to intervene before my neighbours take it the wrong way. The Nigerian society has failed Miracle. Instead of teaching our children to love and respect others who are "different" from us, we continue to sew the seeds of violence in their young hearts, and we keep the cycle of hatred going. Nigerians generally fear what they do not understand. We should learn to live and let live. Let us break the cycle. |
2buffagain:I don't really fancy children at all. Maybe my wife and I could have a child free marriage. Although if she wants, we could have our own children. I wouldn't mind if it was via a natural birth or CS. It's not a big deal. Adoption and surrogacy are also welcome ideas. |

I need a bass guitarist, lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, drummer and keyboardist (perhaps) within Port Harcourt city I'm a vocalist and I listen to a wide range of genres, but I'm really into EDM, metal and rock music. My favourite bands are As I Lay Dying, A Skylit Drive, blessthefall, The Devil Wears Prada, Oceans Ate Alaska, Fall Out Boy, Breaking Benjamin, Wolves At The Gate, Alesana, Bring Me The Horizon, Ocean Sleeper, Asking Alexandria, In Hearts Wake, Of Mice and Men, Hope In Hand, Livealie (I really can't list everyone here) Hopefully I'm able to find instrumentalists with a similar taste in music so we can come together and jam! Hit me up on the WhatsApp in my signature if you'd like to meet up with me and you think we've got a shot |
