The plan was to help our man fix a DPC in a house without one. And the koko be say "shingba" no dey (the client do not have much). Here's the final part of the work done to the clients little budget.

This can be improved upon by introducing damp proof membrane, pouring slurry concrete inside the foundation block hollow to prevent rising damp and more.

Hope this simple fix work for you.

Ensure you install reinforcement no matter how small in size (8mm) it is in order to prevent crack.

Here's a BIG one!

Wrought Iron Entry Glass Door

This door makes a wow in matte black finish if well crafted. I found the secret that the wrought iron design pieces comes in two (locally-made quality and foreign standard). I'm not really sure but I think Europe has more of this design elements than any other (may be wrong though).

I'm presently picking up the pieces to build exactly the same door as shown below in next few weeks. Framework already completed and I've found a supplier for this pieces in Owode, Lagos.

Expect a update later on this thread when I'm done.
Again, the price when finished will be like 1/4 of the original market value.

Dear Bosun,
Would you consider it too late to run a DPC after laying blocks beyond foundation level? The building is already at it's lintel level.
What do you advise?

sir, It can be painted before we channel it into the Aluminium pipes. But it doesnt need to be painted though ,since it's not visible when the window Is completely fabricated

Greetings! Glass blocks do not require the use of Burglar Bars/Protector behind it.

It's breakable but not an easy nut to crack. When they're assembled together and well installed, it's near impossible to break it.

n3xt:
It's not cleaned (or mopped) like tiles. It hates water. You vacuum it and use commercial cleaning solvent made specially for parquet floors to clean it.

The door was made by a local carpenter at a sawmill in Ijebu-Omu junction. It has been a while but I'll try to get his contact from a friend who linked me up with him.

At least some car should occupy 4/5ft without opening the doors, it will be a bit stressful while trying to use your car, it will be a bit inconvinient with the swing window, so I will rather suggest a sliding window for that and depending on the size of your window, but you can as well have your windows in swing for ventilation purpose, can I have a picture to explain more? U can have ur windows installed before plastering and we can install while the bricklayer is plastering same time so as to clean the stains off because some bricklayers will leave stains on the Aluminium or in the frames, the rods can either be in 12mm or 16mm, one on the top frame and welded into the Aluminium pipes downward,inside those pipes are the rods channeled which makes the burglary more attractive, what you can see after installation is the Aluminium pipes. you wont be paying 100% upfront , you can contact me on whatsapp sir..
