All APC Leaders United Behind Buhari - APC Campaign

The APC Presidential Campaign Organization has dismissed as utterly false and ridiculous allegations by the ruling PDP that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other former APC presidential aspirants, Sam Nda-Isaiah and Rabiu Kwankwaso have abandoned the APC Presidential Campaign.

The statement, signed by Malam Garba Shehu, Director of Media and Publicity of the campaign explained that there was no iota of truth whatsoever that Atiku or other party stalwarts have distanced themselves from the campaign.

According to the statement, contrary to the deliberate falsehood being peddled by PDP, the former Vice President is currently out of the country for medical examination, and that he would be actively involved in the campaign once he is back to the country from next week.

Garba Shehu emphasized that Atiku’s commitment to the campaign in his native state, Adamawa and the nation “is total” and that “no amount of PDP’s desperate tactics of deliberate falsehoods would break the unity of the APC leaders.”

The statement said the PDP allegation was a figment of their own imagination in order to weaken the cohesion within the opposition members, adding that the “ruling party is increasingly nervous as the February 14 elections approaches.”

He advised Nigerians to ignore the “rubbish being peddled by the PDP.”

Meanwhile, former presidential aspirant Sam Nda-Isaiah is currently on holiday in the United States of America, a fact well-known to the APC.

Speaking from the US over the weekend, Nda-Isaiah said: “I am working everyday from here to ensure total victory for the APC. I am in America, and I know what the media and the public officials are saying and that they expect a change in Nigeria because things cannot continue like this. They are very worried."

“I am in touch with Garba, Amaechi, party chairman, Kwankwaso and I am actually on my way to participate in the campaign to ensure that the change that Nigerians are earnestly desiring is enthroned in the February elections.”

Governor Rabiu Kwankanso on his own part has consistently spoken of General Buhari’s emergence as a candidate, saying that he felt like it is his own personal victory.

The Director of Media to Kwankwaso informed the APC Campaign that as at about 4:00PM (late yesterday afternoon), the Governor was on the stomp in Bichi Local Government asking for votes for Buhari, and that Kano will host the Presidential Campaign on Tuesday.

The APCPCO asked the PDP-led federal government, which controls the Police and the army to concentrate on the duty of providing a safe environment for democratic elections throughout the country, especially in view of the continuing bombing of APC party offices in Rivers State.

Defections Hits Ondo PDP, Jonathan May Cancel Campaign

All former Speakers in Ondo State House of Assembly, five Commissioners in Mimiko's administration and eight local government chairmen in Ondo State are right now at a defection rally in Akure where they dumped PDP for APC. Scores of councillors are also part of the defection train.

They are being led by former Chief of Staff to the late Governor Segun Agagu, Mr Femi Agagu.

The greatest shock at the rally is the defection of former Speaker, Victor Olabimtan, a director in President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation and also a current member of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

In all, 48 PDP leaders in Ondo are leading thousands of their supporters to dump PDP for APC at a ceremony which took place at APC secretariat along Oyemekun Road, Akure.

The defection earthquake may force Jonathan Campaign Organisation to cancel tomorrow's campaign in Akure, the Ondo State capital, as majority of known supporters of the President have defected to APC or have traveled out of town. All mobilization efforts for the rally have crashed, forcing PDP leaders to opt for cancellation of Akure rally tomorrow, according to PDP sources in Ondo State.

Politics / Re: Buhari’s Certificate: Go To Court, INEC Tells PDP by BashirAhmad1(m): 12:33pm On Jan 12, 2015
BashirAhmad1:
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied claims that it is involved in a cover-up for the All Progressives Council (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, over his certificate saga.

It noted that the election commission does not have the constitutional powers to disqualify any candidate sent to it by the political parties.

INEC, while responding to the allegation raised by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the electoral commission is covering up for Buhari over the certificate issue told the ruling party to go to court if it feels so aggrieved.

The director of Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaigns, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, had on Saturday accused INEC of covering up Buhari over his failure to submit his certificate and credentials.

He said “INEC erred in law by publishing the name of a candidate without receiving the personal particulars of the candidate within seven days of receiving his nomination forms as indicated in section 31(3).”

But the director of Voters Education and Publicity in INEC, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi faulted the position of PDP with regards to the role of the commission in the certificate saga noting that INEC has no constitutional powers to disqualify any candidate presented to it by the political parties.

He said “In line with section 31 of the Electoral Act, the commission has no powers to disqualify any candidate whose name was submitted to INEC. This is the power of the law and it is expected that a political party in the calibre of the PDP should know this aspect of the provision of the law.

“If the PDP is strong on this matter, it knows what to do. Take him to court and that is the only option.

APC Presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari condemned today's attack on President Goodluck Jonathan campaign bus in Jos, Plateau State. Said he rejected any supporter who resorts to violence.

This shows the kind of good leader we are dreaming to have in this country.

I cant recall if PDP did the same on the attack of APC supporters in Port Harcourt.
