https://i2.wp.com/houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/event-marketing-1.jpg?resize=660%2C400 Here are recommendations to help you use Twitter to promote your event. PRE-EVENT PROMOTIONAL TACTICS 1. Create a unique hashtag for the event series Heavily promote the use of Twitter and your hashtag specifically on all web pages, all social media bios, printed materials, event signage, and so on. Use the hashtag in your pre-event tweets, live event tweets, and post-event tweets. Continue to monitor the hashtag after the event to continue engagement opportunities as long as possible after the event. 2. Create a Twitter Chat Create and promote a Twitter Chat (using the event hashtag) in the run-up to the events to help foster engagement among the attendees. Chats would mirror the theme of the events. Email outreach with speakers, attendees, partners, and stakeholders could be done in advance of the chats to encourage participation. 3. Ask for Twitter Handles on Registration Page Consider asking for Twitter handles on the event signup page. Then create a Twitter List and follow all attendees on Twitter. Spend some time in the weeks leading up to the event engaging with those on the list. 4. Put a “Click-to-Tweet” button on the Thank-You Page Put a “Click-to-Tweet” button on the registration Thank You page where registrants can tweet something like “I just registered for #XYZ_Event. Will we see you there?” 5. Create Several Iterations of Copy and Copy + Image Posts Create several iterations of Twitter copy and copy + image posts promoting the event. Start posting about the event 4-6 weeks in advance of the event. Feel free to post earlier if there is an early registration promotion. Twitter for Event Marketing |
There is no single, be-all-end-all book to read if you are an entrepreneur or aspiring business owner. To survive and thrive in business requires continual self-education. However, while there is a plethora of books published for aspiring entrepreneurs, it can be challenging to identify those worth the effort to read. I strongly recommend that you add Soar!: Build Your Vision from the Ground Up, the latest book by New York Times bestselling author T.D. Jakes, to that list. https://i1.wp.com/houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/TD_Jakes_Soar.jpg?resize=768%2C838 Continue Reading |

https://i1.wp.com/houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/wolf-580.jpg?resize=580%2C387 Think about the last time someone gave you a compliment. It could be your boss, your friend or even a stranger on the street. What was your reaction? Did you graciously receive the compliment and reply with a heartfelt “thank you”? Or did you stammer and find it difficult to accept the compliment? Or maybe you would try to discredit it by saying, “Oh it was nothing really”, or “It was all HIS idea” or HER idea “not mine?” If you said “yes”, you’re not alone! Since young, we have been taught to be humble and not brag about our accomplishments and wealth. This is especially true if you’ve been growing up in Asia, where unconditional humility is a common practice. For example, when we visit our relatives, our parents would always remind us to give compliments to our elders the moment we step into their homes before we expect to receive anything in return. See also: Achieving Success In Your Business Starts With Marketing While there is nothing wrong with being a great giver, the problem is that most people have been so accustomed to giving that they find it uncomfortable to receive! The biggest reason why most people aren’t getting what they want in life is that they have not learnt to be gracious receivers. If you’re not willing to receive, you not only deny yourself the chance to benefit from the kindness of others, you also stop others from experiencing the joy of giving. If you want to attract more Wealth, Love and Success, you must learn to strike a balance between giving and receiving. Here are 3 simple exercises you can try that will help you to find that balance and attract more success into your life. Learn to Receive Compliments Graciously No more returning compliments for a specific time! If someone gives you a compliment, you’re not allowed to give them a compliment at that time because it dishonours them. Instead, be grateful and respond with a simple “Thank you!”. Learn to Celebrate and Count Your Blessings Rejoice every time you receive a gift no matter how small (or big) it may be! Even if you find a 10-cent coin on the street, celebrate and say to yourself “I’m a money magnet!” If you get a small discount on a grocery store item, don’t think it’s a mistake. Accept the situation, smile AND celebrate! Abundance comes in many forms, so be grateful and count them all as your blessings. Learn to Reward Yourself Life is not all work and no play! Each time you feel like it, take some time off to rejuvenate yourself and nurture your spirit. Go on a short holiday, treat yourself to an extravagant meal or simply buy yourself that expensive gift you’ve been eying for a while now. When you learn how to pamper yourself, you emit a powerful vibrational energy that tells the Universe that you live abundantly, and by the Law of Cause and Effect, you will start to receive more opportunities to live a more rewarding and fulfilling life The Biggest Reason Why Most People Don’t Get Rich |

It’s quite an achievement to be the chief executive officer of a company, but what traits are necessary in order to hold the reins? Following the steps of your predecessor isn’t always the best course of action. You want to build your personal brand within the company and make productive, significant changes along the way. Below are six traits that all CEOs should have or acquire: 1. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Being able to communicate with a client is always the most important aspect of the relationship built between them and the company. Communication builds trust and can quell any uncertainty the client may have. Incorporating neuroscience into your communication with a client can help curate a strong relationship, too. By maintaining eye contact, smiling often, and even shaking hands, this emotional approach will increase your client’s levels of oxytocin, the social bonding chemical that helps build a more trusting relationship. This trait can also be beneficial to the CEO and their team members. It’s imperative that a CEO keeps the morale high in order to have productive employees who get projects done in a timely manner. 2. REALISTIC OPTIMISM It’s crucial to have realistic expectations when leading a corporation. No one wants a leader who always expects the unobtainable because then they will never be pleased with the outcome. It’s not a bad thing to reach for the stars, but if you don’t do your research and make sure your goals are possible, then it will become a waste of time and money for the corporation. By all means, take risks, but make sure there’s a possibility for success. https://i2.wp.com/houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/bold-man-looking.jpg?resize=768%2C512 3. RISK-TAKING As previously stated, taking risks can lead to more business for a company. If you were just promoted to a CEO position at a company that’s losing its traction, then risk might be your only option. According to a Harvard Business Review study, one of two essential traits that a CEO acquires is being able to take applicable risks. This trait will convey confidence to your team and further instill their trust in your abilities as their leader. 4. ORGANIZATION This doesn’t mean having a neat and spotless office. Being organized means having the ability to figure out how to properly see the bigger picture in all areas of business. A good CEO should be prepared for anything, from finding the solution to a crisis to discovering an opportunity that can bring exponential growth to the company. Six Traits All CEOs Should Have |

THE QUESTION THEN, OF COURSE, WAS, “CAN WE AFFORD THIS WEDDING?” https://i0.wp.com/i.upworthy.com/nugget/583ca3745e511d00160003a6/attachments/maz-nicole-5-a4a0a309052670521cd02351642275e7.jpg?resize=567%2C412&ssl=1 Here’s how we avoided the traps and navigated our way down the aisle — without marrying into money problems. 1. Remembering why we were doing this Weddings didn’t become a multibillion-dollar industry by helping people save money. Pressures have built over the decades for celebrations to mimic those of the wealthy class — no matter how modest a couple’s means. We avoided lavish up-sells by grounding ourselves with a simple reminder: That’s not who we are. Our guests may know and love us for a lot of things, but envy has never been one of them. 2. Embracing the side hustle. Having recently started new jobs, we didn’t want to risk stretching ourselves too thin with second jobs. But odd jobs, we thought, could work. I picked up one-off freelance gigs for a little extra cash until a breakthrough came, ironically, in a no-fee rendering of service. Our friends needed a dog-sitter while they were on vacation, and we happen to be fanatical about pups. That opportunity blossomed into a full-on pet-sitting side hustle with our calendars booked up to the eve of our wedding. In the end, the extra income funded more than a third of our total costs. 3. Rolling up our sleeves. Creative touches were important to us. We saw them as reflections of our identities and our story. But as we learned how quickly outsourcing those details could run up our tab, we realized they were some of our best savings opportunities. Save-the-dates and invitations, flowers and decor, you name it, we rolled up our sleeves, pulled out our tools, and embraced our DIY spirit. Though it was at times a headache — paint fumes will do that — we got them done in our own unique style and at a fraction of what vendors would have charged. 27 years ago, Debbie Baigrie was shot in the face during an attempted robbery. Her assailant was a 13-year-old boy. Ian Manuel was the youngest of three boys who threatened Baigrie that night, but despite his age, he was the one holding the gun. "I heard from behind, 'I’m serious, give it up,'" Baigrie recalls. As she turned around to look at Manuel, he accidentally fired. She felt an awful pain shoot through her face and saw one of her teeth land on the ground. The terrified boys took off, and Baigrie managed to run back to the restaurant where she had just eaten dinner to get help. Later she learned all the teeth on the bottom left side of her mouth had been blown out. If the gun had been pointed slightly higher, she would've suffered a traumatic brain injury. All things considered, she was very lucky. A few days later, Manuel was arrested for riding in a stolen car, and he immediately admitted he was the one who shot Baigrie. Baigrie didn't learn her shooter was only 13 until she read about his arrest in the paper. "I’m like 13?! There’s no way a 13-year-old kid shot me. He’s just a child," Baigrie says. Even so, Manuel was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and attempted armed robbery as an adult. The maximum sentence was life in prison. His mother and lawyer urged him to plead guilty in order to get his sentence cut, but the judge was determined to make an example of him and gave him life without parole. Back in elementary school our teachers often talked about how technology and computers would change the world for the better. Manual labor jobs became easier and banking is more convenient than ever now that you can deposit a paycheck by snapping a pic from a cell phone. Unfortunately, no one sent us the memo about how the internet would screw up the process of finding love. And in case you missed it too, we came up with a few reasons it’s better to go offline when it comes finding Mr Right. https://i2.wp.com/blog.houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/36592609780_936089857c_h.jpg?resize=660%2C400&ssl=1 10 Tips For A More Exciting Relationship Too much familiarity too soon. Between Google, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest you can know a man’s employment history, favorite TV shows without having any communication with him! Knowing so many trivial things about a guy leads some women to serious relationships sooner than they should because social media information has provided a false sense of familiarity. And when things become familiar too fast, they get boring. You become a critic of every single post. Here’s the deal, being Facebook friends with a guy you’re dating or wanting to date is a gift and a curse. It allows you to see what he considers is important information to share with others–be it good, bad, or ratchet. But we start analyzing the content a guy posts and judging him to the point of no return, whether we really want to or not. https://blog.houseofjethro.com/social-media-ruined-dating-forever/ |
Customer engagement is a term which has gained traction over the past few years, fueled by the increased emphasis on personalization and real-time interaction, which has boomed for small and large businesses alike. However, while being aware of customer engagement, as a concept, is one thing, knowing how to actually improve it is something else entirely. Traditional customer service channels are the logical first step when considering customer engagement, yet there are countless other ways in which you can leverage your email and social media efforts to bolster engagement and increase brand loyalty. Consider these six customer engagement tips when planning your next email or social media campaign – your customers and your bottom line will thank you later. 1. SEND WELCOME EMAILS What’s the first thing you do when a guest shows up at your house? You welcome them into your home, of course. The same should go for your email strategy. As soon as someone signs up for your newsletter or makes a purchase, send them a welcome email. This is a great way to begin a new relationship, and an added benefit is that recipients are more likely to engage with your call to actions (CTAs). By giving your readers useful information in the emails, they’re inclined to learn more and click through to your website. It’s a win-win. Welcome emails set the stage for your customer relationship. By being a good host, you’re establishing the foundation for a lasting relationship. Make it known that you want to hear from your customers. An easy way to do this is by using a personalized email account in the sender field; not a “do not reply” address. Putting a name behind your customer service humanizes your brand, which boosts engagement. 2. THANK THEM In the same vein as welcoming your guests into your home, you should make sure that you also thank your customers. A small – but personalized – nod of thanks goes a long way in establishing customer loyalty, while enticing and encouraging customers to engage with your content. Send a thank you email for recent purchases, or as an acknowledgement of their loyalty, where applicable. Recognizing that your customers are choosing to do business with you means a lot and can help create a positive association with your brand. Use this type of outreach to humanize your business and convey its mission and values through your tone of voice and accompanying imagery. Your customers will value a tailored and unexpected email that doesn’t require them to do anything, but lets them know they’re appreciated by your business. 3. OPTIMIZE FOR MOBILE If we know one thing, it’s that people are using their mobile devices more and more. Optimizing your emails – from font size to image pixel ratio – is critical to customer engagement. If your email appears distorted on a mobile device, the reader will close it within a few seconds. However, when an email renders appropriately, it sends a message to your readers that you understand their email habits and that you want to make your communications as user-friendly as possible. Optimizing for mobile sounds more technologically involved than it is. Try using responsive design that automatically adapts to different screens. This means your email will look its best on desktop, smartphone, and tablets because the design caters to whatever device the reader is using. 4. CONVEY VALUE IN SUBJECT LINES People’s inboxes are flooded with mail every single day. In order to stand out – and have people actually read your email – you need to use persuasive subject lines. Subject lines draw attention and help people assess what’s worth their time. By communicating the value of the email in your subject, it tells the reader what’s in it for them. To master your subject line savvy, channel what resonates with your audience and creatively work it into your subject line. Before you do anything, assess what’ll resonate with your audience and then craft your subject line. Is your email all about top tips for organizing your kitchen? Or free Halloween cookie recipes? Whatever it may be, ensure those connection points are in the subject line. When people perceive value, they’re more likely to open, read, and click through your email. 5. PAY ATTENTION TO POSTING TIMES Social media is only effective if your posting times are aligned with your audience’s platform activity. Much like the famous quote, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” so go social posts – if no one is around to see your posts, do they have an impact? Use your platform-specific analytics and insight tools to monitor when your audience is most active and tailor your posting schedule to those times. If new content is published when your followers are on the platform, they’re more likely to engage, comment, like, or share than when they see it hours, or days, after its original publish date. Integrate these specific times into your social media editorial calendar and social media marketing tool to develop posting consistency. https://i0.wp.com/blog.houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/couple-social-media.jpg?resize=660%2C400&ssl=1 Real-time updates are also more exciting for followers, as they want to be the first ‘like’ or comment or be the first to share an update within their network. Timing is everything for social media and paying attention to activity times will enhance your customer engagement. Achieving Success In Your Business Starts With Marketing 6. STRIVE TO EVOKE A REACTION OR A PIQUE VIEWER’S CURIOSITY You may be thinking, “I already do that”, however, there are small additions or tweaks which you can make that will help your engagement levels soar. Some ideas are to pose questions and solicit feedback from your audience. People love to participate in contests or polls, and they like to provide their insight or wish lists to brands they care about. Beyond asking questions, play with creative elements like emojis and GIFS and weave them into your social media posts. When used correctly, people respond well to emojis, and posts with emojis generate more interaction and dialogue than text alone. Emojis are used between friends, and by adding them into your social strategy, your communications can be better received, giving a more warm, friendly, and authentic feel, which is the perfect recipe for customer engagement. Just make sure you know what the emoji means before putting it to your post so you send the right message to your followers. Remember, customer engagement is all about communication and showing your clients that you care about them, their time, and their interests. Use your brand voice to attract and retain their attention, while sprinkling in outstanding images, creative text, and light-hearted elements to really bring your business to life and build long-term loyalty. Now hiring a wedding DJ is all very well and probably essential, even more so if you happen to be the kind of person who has a particular fondness for music as a whole. However, that is only a part of making your wedding night one of the most memorable and fantastic nights of your life. That is ultimately your main and number one priority. The real deal (and occasional problem) lies in getting hold of the right DJ for your wedding. You need to remember that a great number of times, even the best and most recommended DJs for the job may not necessarily be the right choices for you and your wedding in particular. This could be the case even when looking out for a wedding DJ hire in Lagos. Don’t fall into the trap of hiring a DJ only because he happens to be sought out by everyone, without even bothering to check his credentials or specialty. Event professionals work with many different types of clients. Often this is one of the best parts of the job. The Formation World Tour was the seventh concert tour by American singer Beyoncé in support of her sixth studio album, Lemonade. The all-stadium tour was announced following her guest appearance on the Super Bowl 50 halftime show. The tour started on April 27, 2016, in Miami, Florida and concluded on October 7, 2016, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The tour’s title is in reference to Beyoncé’s 2016 song “Formation”. The tour’s production and staging consisted of a 60 foot tall rotating LED cuboid referred to as the ‘Monolith’, a treadmill runway and a secondary stage that stores and produces 2,000 gallons of water. The theme of the tour was described as following the same linear chapters to that of the tour’s supporting album Lemonade, with each rotation of the aforementioned ‘Monolith’ representing a new chapter of the show. https://i0.wp.com/blog.houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/09-beyonce-citifield-1.w710.h473.jpg?w=710&ssl=1 Several music critics gave the show positive reviews, with a variety of publications praising both the tour’s production and Beyoncé’s performance and vocal abilities. https://i2.wp.com/blog.houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Beyonce-Formation-LX-Plans-v7-3-page-001.jpg?resize=768%2C543&ssl=1 The tour had a variety of notable opening acts, including a number of special guests joining prominent opener DJ Khaled on stage. You can cleanse, moisturize and put on masks ’til the cows come home — but if you don’t have a regular exfoliation routine, you’re not doing your skin right. Exfoliating — which is really just a fancy word for removing dead skin cells — helps expose the new and radiant skin underneath the surface. It’s also an excellent way to prep your skin for any creams, serums or treatments you slap on. The truth is if you’re looking to give yourself a natural glow, exfoliating from head to toe is one of the easiest ways to achieve it. https://i0.wp.com/blog.houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/woman-face-cream-1.jpg?w=640&ssl=1 And when we say head to toe, we mean head to toe! We so often pamper our faces, but forget to do the same for the rest of our skin below the neck. Whether you are seeking to rejuvenate winter skin, trying to get bikini ready or getting prepared to apply tanning products, proper exfoliation is key. INSTRUCTIONS: Before stepping into the shower, brush your dry skin with your loofah, body brush or exfoliating gloves. This will help remove the loose skin and prepare your skin for the exfoliating process. Begin with the soles of your feet, working your way up your body. Get into the shower and wet your body from head to toe. Don’t exfoliate your skin if you are sunburned or have any open cuts or wounds. Use a pumice stone on your feet to eliminate rough spots and calluses. If your feet are extremely rough, soak them in a basin of warm water mixed with a cup of milk for 30 minutes before getting into the shower. Apply your exfoliating cleanser to your loofah or gloves. Begin scrubbing your body in a circular motion starting with the bottom of your feet and working your way up. When you reach the bikini area, don’t scrub too hard because the skin is very sensitive. Often times your vendors may be the parties most responsible for your success. Think about it for a moment … how much do a caterer, bakery, venue partner, musician/DJ, transportation company, dressmaker, printer, officiant and event equipment company contribute to the success of each of your events? Probably quite a bit. So it’s critical not only that you have collegial relationships with your event vendors but that you also manage them properly to ensure they meet your expectations and those of your clients. Here are a few things to keep in mind when keeping track of them… https://i0.wp.com/blog.houseofjethro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/nwabisa-south-african-wedding-inspiration-zarazoophotography045-1.jpg?w=620&ssl=1 1. Put your expectations down on paper Yes, you need to verbalize your requirements of each vendor for each job. But you also need to commit these requirements and expectations to paper so that nothing gets lost in translation and so they have a hard copy to work from. 2. Nail down delivery times early A successful event depends on precise timing so even a short delay in delivery of an item can mean the difference between an ecstatic client and an enraged one. So set exact dates and times from the beginning and have the vendor re-commit to those times throughout the planning process to ensure they are well aware of when and where they need to deliver. However, when you look at the training he is going through, you start doubting. The British actor is 44 years old and so for starters age seemed to be a factor in his training sessions. Despite this shortcoming, Elba was working hard and pushing through. They got him Lionel Graves who is not a world beater although he trains at the famous Mike’s Gym in Holland.
