This is the first tme anyone in Nigeria have ever heard of the story. Zik never said this in his books, It means it never happened.

Why do you think Awolowo would offer the anyone Prime minister while he became minister. Never. Noone ever do that, when Awolowo knows is heard a better opportunity at the polls than the others.

You weigh your rival chances and you know you would do better than him. You take your chance. The story of calling balewa or what ever never happened.

Zik was offered President while Awolowo would be Premier minister. Zik refused and form a govt with Balewa. I think zik assume that president had more power. Balewa also offer him same position. And zik went for it.


And telephone then was difficult to have. So the story that he went up to receive a phone call, is some how. not many people had telephone

was awolowo the one who order starvation or was it not the fault of biafra and gowon. biafra did not prepared for the war . and they have no food. how can you fight a war without food. ? And gowomn was the one who gave the order to starve igbos, and block the red cross at that time. I dont see am igbo been bold enough to blame gowon and the north for the decision. And it was biafra fault too. how do you fight a war without food. that is another reason , yorubas have to join benin republic , we dont want to end up like you. And with the republic of benin, we cant starve of food in war. the land space is so much to provide and fight , if need be

let look at Gowon statement.

Nigeria as a country would have been a failure if the Igbo race had been allowed to leave the country Nigeria

Is nigeria now not a failure??   Nigeria is a failure,  Gowon and his generation are less than 15% of the nigeria population and you can see secession coming from boko haram, OPC, Moosob and all this group. 70% of nigerian do not share Gowon thinking.   They want it divided. So Gowon is in the minority.  It was a good dream that never worked out. We woke up along time ago. How long do we continue to lie to ourself.

I have extended family in  Nigeria and I do not want them to be killed in Nigeria because Gowon want nigeria to be one by force. People should considered other people who form majority in Nigeria inplace of self , the safety of others matters too.  The money some nigerian have made should less important than the lifes of people at this moment. And the need to drop self interest. HUMAN LIFES MATTERS.


I am sorry Mr Gowon , you have your good quality but , honestly most nigerian believe many of your generation are living in the past. Your generation which want nigeria most remain by force are living in the past.
