Bill Clinton and George Bush charge money for invitation. Look if you want to see them in your village. if you have the money, you contact thier office and they would come. This is what the two of them do for a living now. So dont see their present as the USA govt point of view. It is not , Bill Clinton and George Bush do this for a living. It is like bringing Carter to Nigeria. It does not mean the USA endose any one. USA ex president get paid to give paper. 

You said 500,000 is nothing. Look at it this way, 200 half a million is 100 milion.  Bill Clinton and George Bush made more than 10 million doing this each years. This is how USA president make money after govt, not by robbing thier people. Obasanjo, IBB etc should be charging money and going to wedding party, and other programs.etc.


There is nothing wrong of them coming to nigeria. the timing was plan, to discourage  military boys from overthrowing the govt during the change of yar adua to jonathan acting president. You would notice the present of a USA war ship, and the USA ambassador in Nigeria going to IBB, it was just to checkmate any move to terminate democracy in Nigeria by the military. This is why I am saying relocation of any ijaw town is possible. And there are so small that accomodation would not be a problem. if any there have less than 100 houses. So the kalabari do not stand any chance in river state. even with the support of ogoni. there do not stand a chance.

dayokanu, you are a bitter person. what percentage of people pick your school. Most people dont pick your school.
quote system does not allow people to pick any school. what percentage of northerner pick your school as option. When most state thier own  university.  Oil company then use to come to ilorin to pick student. half of my classmate work for oil firm because the engineering school is very good.  Ilorin is the first university in nigeria to operate a radio station but lack of fund stop the program.  the mask is still at block 10 .

I remember we did engineering quiz for nigeria universities when i was there. ilorin came first 3 consecutive years.

Look by the time I left most department have never had first class. The way the other university dash out first class. Look to be considered for first class in ilorin. The senate not only pass you, by your paper is remarked by external examiner.

They do not give it like tuwo and amala. for the over 30 years of the department of electrical engineering at the university. I doubt if there are 10 people who ever had first class. 30 different set of the university.

In the whole of the science faculty, there would be less than 40 for the last 30 years. first class is 1 in every 750 student in ilorin, when compare to 1 in 70 of some school in nigeria.

First class in ilorin may mean an external examiner may have to remark the paper. It goes beyond just someone taken a like for you. first class is uncommon in the university of ilorin. If you doubt me. Ask anyone who went to ilorin. Do a google search, you would find many ilorin ex student who came abroad and got distinction. while at ilorin they were not allowed. If I am correct for the first 10 years, only two people had first class in electrical. They also have a different marking system. were some department Substrate  fail score from got mark. This is one of the reason, while first class is rare in the university.

let me give an example from pre clinical to clinical. medical student in ilorin are not judge base on thier knowledge only but on available slot . if the class is 120 student.  if the number of slot is 35. it is irrelevant in ilorin if 40 scores 90%. only 35 student would move to clinical. it is same in electrical. they would fail the others. go and ask anyone who read medicine in ilorin if i am telling the truth. they have a cut of number for number of student that move to the next level. so your mark most be good to move to the next level when i was there. there also have a system were they fix the number of student to graduate. if the bring out the book. u see what i mean.

if your student score too high , you have to go the senate to give a reason why. so to avoid going to the senate , most prof , just reduce the mark.

i took a course in ilorin, where Dr now, prof , failed 70% of the class. only 30% pass, i was lucky. he hate going to senate.  And it is not a lie but this is a true story.  There this  prof in ilorin , his student became a prof before him to punish him.  I do not want to name him. but this story is knew by every engineering student out of ilorin at that time.

dayokanu , i know someone who was not very good in school  , he had first class from your school.  and go and find out the number of first class unilorin has produced. it is  what your school produce in one year. unilorin has a different marking system that make it impossible to have first class. i think they should please count how many first class they have produced. second class in ilorin is first class in most school. ilorin has produce  less first class than any universities in nigeria with its age. quote me on this. what other university produce in 1 year is university of ilorin 5 year count.    the average number of first class from ilorin is about 2 per year. two people do not make first class in a department in ilorin. the senate would reject it.

i would give N100,000 = $10  for your school to take a test with university of ilorin .

look at you, the university of ilorin has the largest campus in the whole of africa at that time and i think till day, When a university have more than one church building is that a small place. they have elementary schools inside the university and high school. There is no need for the children of staff who all use to live on campus to ever step out of the campus till they die.

You can have a child inside the university and till the child get marry and die and never step out of the university. They produce thier food on campus. And some food use to be sold to the general public.

It has a sport stadium which at that time some state in nigeria never had. state like delta state just had a stadium bigger then the university. even as i speak some state in nigeria do not have a stadium bigger than the university of ilorin stadium. All staff live on the campus with their family. Some people are born on the campus and never get to know anywhere till they get thier PHD. They have no reason to leave the campus. nearly everything is inside the university. printing press, poultry, zoo, shopping etc

The reason why they are the best may be because they do not have social life. The system is design just to study. You remain on campus and hardly ever go out. It is far from the city of ilorin. So the only thing you can do is study.

UNN, unilag,Uniben are smaller than ilorin in size, most people do not know that university of ilorin has the largest campus in africa. In africa. not even in nigeria. but africa. please quote me. expect if there is a new university.

University of ilorin is not like other universities in nigeria. they do not have a social life apart from study. And to be honest with you, they call university of lagos. eko for show. We use to read shina peterwent to lag to play. osadebe was in UNN.

unilorin is more of a religion based university , when they shout "great nigeria student". They reply "halleluyah" because the only thing you can do on campus is to go to a church or mosque. What happen was the first few VC were either SU christain or islam radical. So the university never allowed any non religion event. unlike other universities were Obesare lives in.

There are more church event on campus than there are number of student. I am not joking ask anybody that ever went to university of ilorin. This is not a joke.

another reason why ilorin would be on top is the classroom sometime were far from the hostel. so if you have to walk for 30 minutes or more to get to class, you are better off staying there to read, until you are ready to sleep. Many carry pillow to classroom at that time, because you had no choice. The pillow were not to sleep with but to sit on, since walking back would take 30 minutes or more. You are always prepared to remain there all day.

They sit for more than 12 hours that why they need the pillow for thier Asss
