I'm desperate here.

A few weeks back I ran an update on my Sony Xperia Z3 dual and sometime later I discovered that I can't check my account balance. Whenever I dial any ussd code it appears as if it's trying to connect but doesn't.

I've gone to mtn office to complain but they couldn't help.

I know it's a phone issue because my other sim in the phone has same issue.

Run the software update again

Has anyone experienced this?

Please can anyone suggest possible solutions?

Am one of the earliest buyers Sony Xperia Z1. I have been using the phone for 18months now. Still a very good phone but the battery have gone really bad. Discharges to empty 4hrs after a full charge.
I have tried to get a new battery but it's been proving very difficult. I have tried all the Nigerian online stores I know, but none has it. I have sent someone to Slot in Lagos, it was a fruitless endeavour. The only place I saw an Xperia Z1 battery for sale is amazon but they can't deliver to Nigeria and I don't know anyone in the U.S.
I have been using a powerbank as backup power but it's very frustrating because they battery loses the charge as soon as you unplug.
It will really be a pity if I have to ditch such a good phone in good condition because I can't get a new battery
That phone cost me #115,000.

Uninstall all your network cards from (Control panel->System->Device manager)
Restart your computer.
Let windows attempt to install your network card for you.

Also, do this:

1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box and press Enter.
2. Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

3. Right click RunOnce and select Export to make a backup.
4. In the right plane, delete the value referenced to rundll32.
5. Quit Registry Editor.

Then, restart the computer to test the issue

Go to device manager;
Device manager – Remove all ‘Avast!’ virtual devices with a right click ‘Uninstall’
Restart your PC

Now, open ‘Network and sharing center-> Change Adapter settings-> Wifi Connection -> properties’. In the "This connection uses the following items"list

There was one more avast! filter device there. Select and uninstall that too and restart your PC again.

I ve never used the free version. Its always been AIS/Avast premier which I ve installed and uninstalled on different PCs

Its not up to date. I use avast too and it doesn't affect the system drivers. You have to repair the OS using repair disc

Guy, re install your drivers and stop blaming avast for your predicament

Bro e happen to me last week end o but am using window 7 utimate shaa even hotsport,cable,moderm dey show no internet access me senior man wan cry i just manage to uninstall the avast premier and reboot the system to check my network status to God be the glory my system head come back to e senses but later i install the avast again..Praise thy lord

IN ur avast app, goto settings-active protection there u will be able to disable the web shield...

Just disable web shield on avast and u're good to go...

May be your drivers for network are missing..... Try out Driverpack Solution, DriverEasy, Driver Genius, Driver Navigator ETC

I have changed my screen twice now, as i am typing now, my phone is at sony center "I-cell" and i was told to bring 40k to fix the screen even after paying 14k5 and 16k5 to fix the same screen twice lol.

The screen is a disservice to Sony Z1, too feeble.
