Why is it that these descendants of primitive forest-dwelling ancestors are always in pains whenever they see progress and development outside their tiny enclave of criminals ? Una neva see anything, this Lagos - Calabar coastal highway is a done deal, your pains and wailing can't stop it! Any "shutdown" wey wan happen make e happen, even if heaven self like make e fall, that project must progress!

A simple indication of where the cables here should avert any shutdown. These just looking for unnecessary attention and blowing up a mole into a mountain.
Even if there will be disruption in some service, the telcos should plan ahead and make alternative arrangements.

You don't stop projects because of potential issues, that's part of project planning. You identify potential hiccups and plan accordingly.

That's why you have project Managers, that's a big part of Project Management.

That is why Govt should be sincere and actually do an EIA before starting a project if not you will not hear of all this.

It is clear that no EIA was done before this project started.

In your wildest dreams subsidy has removed when landing cost of fuel is 1000 per liter but we are selling fuel at a base cost of 600 per liter abi.

Why are they building roads tho when Abia people are hungry?

Can’t Otti invest the money in agriculture and subsidize food in Abia so everyone can survive the economic meltdown ?

Who is even advising this Otti?

This doesn't show you have sense.

If some part of the Atlantic ocean can be sandfilled and a city built on it, sandfilling and building bridges on the swampy terrain of the Niger delta.

what is the depth of that part of the atlantic that was sandfilled? do you know that the Niger delta has more than 13 river distributaries and 2 major distributary points (Forcados and Nun) and at the point of emptying into the Atlantic that is where the coastal road is going through and you think River currents and Ocean currents will affect whatever reclamation you will do.

There's no big deal in it. Bridges and roads were constructed on the bonny bodo road, it will be done one the Lagos calabar road too. The most important thing is money. So far there are funds available, the construction of road and bridges in Delta, Bayelsa and Aka Ibom is not a big deal

The Eleko axis that's currently been sandfilled is a swampy area. Victoria Island was once a swampy area

Where the Dangote refinery is located is a swampy area

bros don't be a lousy prick here. Do you think designing that kind of bridge in that challenging area is beans? I guess you have not even been to the Niger delta that is why you can openly speak this kind of nonsense.

Igbos have been always denied their identity whenever they want to make a bad remark they usually hide under the south south people to carryout their evil habits. Like this op claiming port Harcourt. He forgot that average Niger delta will rather channel their energy on something that will more productive.

The useless being forget that the whole of lagos island even part of surulere and some part of ikoyi even the whole of Eko Atlantic and part of oworo were ocean and they sand filling it to be habitable for people.

The project that have been in place for over 30 years no administration's ever talk about it and each administration stolen trillion of naira even if not dollars self? If those money stolen by this individual can be channel to this project would the project will still be there?
Some of you are just criticizing without constructive even including your boss peter obi but you guys from that region really get empty brain spits on your head bro.

mind you there is a cyber crime law that outlaws dog whistling and hope you also know that Tribal incitement is a crime punishable by jail term, if you think these guys cannot track you down you are joking, now back to your argument. Do you know that the same time Surulere and other areas were being sandfilled in the 60s the British also considered sandfilling some parts of the delta, do you know why they abandoned it? the project is not feasible and it is very expensive and the ecological effects will be mind boggling. it is sheer stupidity to compare a small Lagos with an immense area that is the drainage basin of one of Africa's longest rivers( the River Niger). Make una dey use una sense when una wan argue.

Op you are not being truthful, you haven't been to the creeks they only need bridges when crossing a river, the swampy areas are usually sand filled.

Check on the road being constructed by the bayelsa State govt that is heading to the Atlantic ocean

The whole of VI was once a swamp

Where the Dangote Refinery is located was once a swampy area

Construction work for the Lagos calabar road is ongoing at Eleko, where the road will pass through at Eleko is a swampy area, go there and check how it's been built up

Swampy area is not a big deal

Go and makw research about the bonny bodo road

Bonny Bodo road is very minuscule compared to sandfilling a large portion of a very deep mangrove swamp that stretches for miles from Delta to Rivers.

Most of those antagonising this project are Igbos. However, it is unfortunate that this project has shown the kind of hatred Igbos have for the South South.

so are you saying Atiku is igbo. There are so many Yorubas on Linkedin that are also criticizing this project. There is also an article on premium times a Yoruba press outfit criticising this project as well calling it a coastal highway of corruption. This dog whistling and tagging of igbos is very wrong and the day you guys will ignite this country maybe then you will learn to stop and be constructive in your criticism.
