Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, have vowed not to be intimidated by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

They declared that their support for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar remains absolute despite the harassment and threat of arrest and Executive Orders of the governor.

The Coordinator of Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign in Oyo State and former Deputy Governor of the state, Hazeem Gbolarumi, yesterday, said that the G-5 and Integrity Group in one million places could not stop the victory of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Gbolarumi, who spoke with The Guardian in Ibadan, the state capital, said members of the G-5 and Integrity Group were fighting for a selfish agenda.

The former deputy governor, who also spoke on the chance of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, said: ‘’Obi goes nowhere. He has no structure. The youths following him have no Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). You will see that at the end of the day, Obi is going nowhere.’’

And if we can’t understand them, we can’t follow them. PDPAPC, APV, Bulaba, and Niger Delta State, are examples of incoherence that leads to insurrection.

And a leader needs honesty in order to inspire harmony. But where you lie that you brought a company that employed 60% of Anambra people, or you played football with those you did not meet in school, or that Tinubu is sending out anti Igbo WhatsApp messages, you can’t inspire harmony.

With Atiku, Nigeria has a leader who is coherent and whose honesty inspires harmony.

The spokesman of the Campaign Council in Rivers State, Lenoonu Nwibubasa stated this while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday.

Nwibubasa expressed delight that the vice presidential candidate of the party, Ifeanyi Okowa is from South-South.

He noted that the people of Rivers State and South-South will support Atiku/Okowa’s presidential ticket.

Mr Chukwubuikem Uloka, Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign Management Committee, said this in a statement in Awka.

“It is comprehensible that the Southeast is demanding a president from the region in 2023; we all agree that such demand is morally right and timely,” he said.

The PDP publicity secretary said though there was a growing sentiment in favour of the President from the Southeast geopolitical zone, the reality on ground in terms of national spread and acceptability favoured Atiku/Okowa for victory.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday, recalled the events leading up to the establishment of the Debt Management Office (DMO) while serving as Vice President under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration between 1999 and 2007. 

Speaking at the 26th Lagos Business School (LBS) Alumni Conference held in Lagos, Atiku explained that when the PDP was elected into government in 1999, marking the beginning of the Fourth Republic, the party really did not have a policy document.
