To all the PCMs in the house

How has been your camp journey?

If you are yet to begin don't worry there still time before swearing in, just don't be in an hurry and make sure safety always come first.

Below are the seven (7) crucial Stages from arrival to camp and guidelines:

As Camp officially opens

Stage 1
At the gate: Right at the gate that allows entrance into the camp, the camp security men would demand you show them your "Call-up Letter"; when you show them, they will search your luggage and, depending on the method adopted by your camp management, give you a tag number, and maybe asked to jog in

Stage 2
Bed Space/Hostel: From the entrance gate, proceed to the second registration point where you would be allocated a hostel and bed space. At this stage, they would collect the tag number if not before, that is, if any wasn't given to you by the gate security men. Your name will be asked for and confirm; after which a bed space would be allocated to you.
After taking out the camp required documents, locate your bed space and drop your luggage(at owners risk) and proceed to the next stage 3.

Stage 3
Verification: At this stage you would be required to provide the original of the following documents (Of course you must have made about six photo copies for each of): Call-up leter, Statement of result, Green card, School I.D card, Addendum and the Medical certificate of fitness. After verification and confirmation, then proceed to

Stage 4
Biometric Registration: At this stage, they will take your thumb print; if match with the one you did at cyber café. They will cross check your information; if everything matched, then they will determine the platoon you belong. And you will be given, "Camp Corps Member Registration Slip" and Temporary I.D, Certificate format, Performance report form, and Bio-data form.
Locate the photo copy centre and make two photocopies of the slip, and keep the slip for further use.
Check the last digit number in your state code. It ranges from, 0 to 9.
0 is platoon 10;
1 is platoon 1;
2 is platoon 2;
3 is platoon 3
.
.
.
9 is platoon 9.

Stage 5
Platoon: All platoon will be directed to gather at different locations.

Your platoon officer will be there to receive you.
Locate your platoon with the camp corps member registration slip, Green Card, Call up letter, statement of result, to get your file, Meal ticket, and NYSC Kits.

Stage 6
Bank acct opening: This is a later stage activity all PCMs would be required to open a new bank account...

Stage 7
First parade:
"Pam...papa pam...; pam papa pam...; pi...po...pi...po...pam...papa paaaaaah" when you hear this sound from military trumpet, usually by 4:00am, those who have completed their registration and are kitted in white camp kits must head to the parade ground for the very first parade.

Then you can see the timetable, get use to the environment and boring lectures.

Anyway enjoy yourself, service is only done once and orientation camp is a big part of it and toward the end of the stressful 21 days it will be like it should be extended.

NYSCRe: Lagos To Paiko NYSC Camp. Please I Need Urgent Directions by Beloved208(m): 8:48am On Nov 18, 2025
victorcalm:
Lagos to Paiko NYSC Camp, I need urgent help, direction, please house
Coming by air, board an airplane to the Enugu Airport.
From the terminal, you can charter a cab straight to the camp or you can get to Holy Ghost Park and board a vehicle straight to the NYSC Camp. A second option by air, is the Owerri Airport, from Owerri, proceed by road to Okigwe, from Okigwe you will easily get a cab to the Awgu NYSC camp.

22. BORNO: When you get to. Maiduguri park, ask for and take a bus to Arabic Teachers College which is the temporary orientation camp NYSC started using last year

23. YOBE: From Kano, get a direct bus going to Yobe. The camp is located at Potiskum. From Lagos, take a direct bus to Potiskum. From Onitsha, take a direct bus to Potiskum.

24. GOMBE: From Gombe park, enter a straight bus to the camp. The orientation camp is located at Science Technical college, Amanda, km 21, Gombe-Bauchi Highway-near International Airport Gombe.

25. AKWA IBOM: From AKTC park in Uyo, you might see a direct bus to camp, but if you didn't see, there's another way to get to camp without problems. Take a Keke to a place called PORIENTATIO down to Oron road and ask where they board Nsit Atai buses.

26. KWARA: From Ilorin, if your bus 🚍 drops you in General around the Taiwo axis where you can easily get a bus/cab going to Yikpata camp entrance without going to Maraba.

Avoid taking a bike straight 🏍 from General to Maraba it will be too expensive, instead bus or taxi to go to the post office, where you can even walk down to camp

27. BAYELSA: Get a bus going to Yenagoa and tell the driver to stop you at Mbiama (just before they enter Bayelsa), at Mbiama you will see cabs going to Kaiama, join one and tell them you will stop at Kaiama park. From Kaiama park, take a direct bike 🏍️ to camp.

28. EDO: From Benin, take a bus 🚍 to Okada. From Okada, you'll see a cab or bike that'll take you straight to the camp.

29. TARABA: The NYSC orientation camp in Taraba is located at Sibre Airport Road, Jalingo. On your way to Jalingo, you'll be dropped in the gate of the NYSC camp, because it's located at the express.

30. ZAMFARA: Currently dislodge, so see Sokoto or Kebbi description.

31. BENUE: From Makurdi last bus stop, cross to the other side and directly in front of Winners Chapel church, there are cars 🚖 going to Gboko, from Gboko, tell them you'll drop at the NYSC camp just after police college by the road side.

32. PLATEAU: Take a bus to Jos, which is where the temporal camp now is, take a bus 🚍 to Doi-Du along Bukuru. Ask for Waye Foundation, by Buken Academy, That is where the Temporary NYSC  Camp is.

33. EBONYI: From Abakaliki, enter a bus 🚍 to Afikpo Macgregor camp. Stop at the junction and take a straight bike to the camp.

34. KEBBI: From Mando park in Kaduna, get a vehicle going to Yauri/Kontagora, drop at Yauri. From Yauri, get a vehicle going to Koko. After dropping at Koko, get a straight cab to the orientation camp located at Dakingari. From Ibadan, get a vehicle going to Kontagora, Niger state, drop at Kontagora and get a vehicle going to Koko. After dropping at Koko junction, get a straight cab to the orientation camp located at Dakingari.

35. NIGER: From Minna, take a bike 🏍️ to Mobil filling station and take a bus 🚍 straight to Paiko where the orientation camp is located.

36. EKITI: From Ado-Ekiti, get a straight bus 🚍 to the NYSC orientation camp located at Ise-Emure Ekiti. The price for the bus will be around 2,500 naira

37. ONDO: From Akure, 🚖 take a taxi 🚖 to Benin garage, you'll see a vehicle going to Ikare.  From the last bus stop, take a bike 🏍️ straight to the orientation camp.

In Summary: The key to getting to where you are going is to ask people along the way, like you can see the word "tell the driver" severally used and better if you are moving in group. Also when you get to several park this season, you will mostly likely meet other Pcms

Pls if you are a corp member and notice an error in any of the description or outdated location. Kindly reply to this post and it will be corrected.

Thanks

IN PREPARATION FOR CAMP series 4

As camp open in 2 days time for NYSC Batch 25 C1

And let us go through;

❌ ❌ NYSC LIST OF IRRELEVANT CAMP ITEMS❌❌

Below are the list of things you should not take to camp

📋1. Mattress: This might sound strange but some PCMs bring this. The NYSC management provides mattresses to every PCM. Bringing your own mattress could amount to excess luggage, and thereby, make security operatives to seize it.

📋2. Cutlery (NOT ALL TYPES): Things like Knives, fork, tin-cutter, pliers are seized because it is believed that PCMs might use them for negative things. Spoons are allowed, but don't go with more than one metal spoon.

📋3. Sophisticated electronic devices: Things like Extensions, big tablets, laptops, palm top, etc are not allowed in camp. But, if you managed sneak in with any of devices, just bare in mind you brought it for Camp thieves to take. Security normaly seize them at the gate check point and tag them with a number so after camp you can easily collect them back while leaving. But trust me, 80% PCMs forget to collect their items back.

📋4.Too much luggages: Not everything you should come to camp with. All the things you may need are being sold in Mammy market, although it's more expensive there but you will save yourself the stress for things like: bucket, foodflas, spoons, plates, white shoe, shots, white polos, waist bag, detergent, soap, beverage,, bed-sheet, pilows etc. In order not to overload yourself, come with the little you have and buy the rest from camp market if you have the money.

📋5. Electrical Appliances: Corps Members are not allowed to enter camp or use thing like pressing Iron, Stove, boiler, clipper etc in the Camp. If found with any of them, it would be seized.

P/S: Dont forget your blue jeans for the carnival including your Medical Fitness Certificate as you will not be allowed in camp without that.

📋6. Too many Muftis: As fun as camp would be and you would like to make shakara small, sorry to burst your bubble but you will be wearing white on white or Khaki through out the days of your stay. The only time you will be allowed to put on mufty are sundays when going for your various Religious activities and the Carnival. So a pair of mufti or 2 pairs is ok for that. You are also allowed to wear mufty inside your room in the hostel but i can assure you there is no time to stay in the hostel because you will always be engaged with one activity or the other.

IN PREPARATION FOR CAMP series 3
STEPS AND MATERIALS FOR EARLY CAMP PREPARATION
1. Prepare Your Mind:
First and foremost, you need to prepare your mind that you are leaving home for a regimented life in the camp. Life in the camp is deliberately made stressful so as to prepare you for any challenge that may confront you outside the camp. You will not find it too comfortable; it’s a camp and not your Father’s house! Just be ready for anything.

2. Itemize All Your Needs Using A Scale of Preference (very important ones first):

1. Very Important Ones
a. Statement of Result/Certificate
b. School ID card
c. Passport photographs (10 copies, white background, Surplus is better than inadequate)
d. Call-Up Letter (Do Not laminate it please)
e. Medical Certificate of Fitness indicating your health status with NMA stamp
f. NIN Print out
g. A Clear Bag file (To house the above items)
NB: Get 2 photocopies each of items A, B, E, and F above for D(get at least 5 copies), and also go with their Original copies also.

2. Other Important Ones (For your Convenience)
a. Stationeries; pen, Stapler, pin, gum, permanent marker (these will save you the stress of ‘borrow-me’ please)
b. Two or three white T-shirts and shorts (You will be given two sets but you may not like the quality, and size you want)
c. Two or three pairs of socks and white rubber tennis shoes (for rainy days)
d. Plastic bucket (You can buy it in the camp but it will be more expensive)
e. Toiletries Essentials- (Toothbrush & Toothpaste, Bath soap & Sponge, Detergent, Toilet Paper, Towel,  Slippers, Detol).
f. Bed sheet, pillow case, wrapper, one or two pairs of casual wear for Sundays and burn fire night, Cardigan
g. Face Mask
h. Mosquito Net (depending on you)
i. Handkerchiefs (very important especially for those that sweat)
j. Waist bag (very very important for housing your phones,
ID Cards, Handkerchief, biros, etc)
k. Small-sized Torchlight/Rechargeable lamp (small one please) and Sunglasses (especially if you are posted to the North)
l. Your ATM card(s) (note: some camps don't have atm so prepared for POS charges)
m. food flask, cup, spoon, water bottle for water during parade.
n. Basic drug like Panadol, Paracetamol, malaria drug, flagyl, pain relief drug and/other basis drugs. (note: all you bag is most times checked before allowing into the camp so only necessary drugs, no hard drug or sharp object is allowed)
o. Padlocks and key
p. Ladies could add any other few conveniences. (I believe you understand me.)
q. Money! Money! Money! Hold good cash/in bank something like 40k to 80k depending on how you spend.

Note again: that sharp object, rides or pet will not be allowed, and also like we said basic drugs only not unnecessary or hard ones.

For serving corp members is there anything you wish someone tell you about camp

Or what you think should be removed/added?
