Thank you for sending your e-mails and for all your enquiries. I'm encouraged to publish more information daily in the hope that some of you might just consider study opportunities abroad.

A lot of us who have dreams of studying abroad are usually discouraged by the relatively high cost of tuition and the complex process involved.
The average tuition in many popular destinations abroad can range from N1 to 15 Million every year.

However, don't let these figures discourage you from thinking such goals cannot be actualized. Paying further detail into the tuition fees, we begin to see various reasons why one does not have to pay nearly as much, making studies a reality.

1. Scholarship opportunities abound

In most Tertiary institutions, there is always the possibility of winning one form of scholarship or the other. Such awards are usually performance based and can range anywhere from 20 - 100% scholarships. As a matter of fact, the likelihood of a studious student winning one form of scholarship or academic grant is above 90%

2. Work - Study Opportunities

Some Countries allow for study while working for international students. Top on that list is Germany and Canada. Even without official jobs, it is still possible to 'hustle' your way through various informal jobs depending on the persons skills. Work - study opportunities allow for significant savings in living cost, feeding expenses and even tuition depending on the lucrative nature of the job at hand.

3. Installmental Payments

Part payments allow for recovery with time to raise the required funds for study. Many schools allow part payments options including initial deposits, per semester payments among others.

Studying abroad is a challenging journey but it is by no means an impossible one with our limited resources.

I should publish my next post within the next couple of days.

Studying overseas is usually compelled by the desire for a better life and a more stable financial future than what we currently have in Nigeria. However, failure to attain all required information may lead to frustration and an inability to live the 'overseas dream'. As we have witnessed mass emigration of people from Nigeria and other developing countries, Countries once thought to be 'sure' in terms of job and stay back prospects after study are experiencing a dramatic paradigm shift.

For the sake of those who wish to further their education abroad, here are the top 3 destination places in terms of standard of living, job prospects and economic development.

Australia

Located at the other side of the World, the massive Australia offers an immigrant friendly, robust learning system that is deeply rewarding to potential students. As one of the most developed Countries in the World, Australia has a very impressive GDP growth rate (3%) when compared with other countries in their league, meaning new jobs are being created yearly at a faster rate. The average yearly income for a graduate working in Australia is about $65000 USD. Apart from this, Australia gives you a whooping 18 months after studies to secure a job there from which you can proceed to apply for a permanent residency. There are some downsides to studying in Australia which will be discussed in subsequent articles.

Germany

Germany is the biggest economy in Europe and is no doubt the new De-facto ruler of the EU with Britain about to exit. Studying in Germany has a lot of advantages compared to most advanced countries including cost, student-work opportunities and Job prospects. Germany has one of the cheapest tuition fees among First World Countries and gives students the opportunity to work as they study compared countries like the USA and Australia (partly). Germany also gives graduate international students 18 months to find a related job like Australia after studies has been completed. Apart from job prospects, Germany has the best provisions when you factor in cost of living and working.

Canada

Someone joked that they way we are going, by 2050 half the citizens in Nigeria will have left for Canada. It may be an exaggeration but it reflects a very clear picture of the rate of immigration to Canada from Nigeria. Canada is the next best alternative for those who want that 'USA' feel but can't get in due to tougher stances on immigration. In fact, I know a few big men here in Nigeria who have quit their jobs to start life afresh in Canada. While job prospects in Canada are high, especially in some fields (which I will discuss later), those who really want to benefit from opportunities in Canada are advised to go there as students
Studying in Canada can be a bit tricky, and requires good academic performance, especially for direct admission. However, with proper guidance on the right institutions, courses and places to go, you may not experience any hassles.
Like I said before, job prospects in Canada are extremely likely, especially for some jobs. Another beauty about studying in Canada is that you can work while you study, and you can apply for a permanent residency almost as soon as you get a job after graduating.
The average yearly income in Canada is $60,000.

I will be discussing more on making the right choices for your studies abroad in subsequent discussions.
