[quote author=sylgreat post=82083130]Pls anyone in the house who is a civil engineer to advice. I have HND in civil engineering, then postgraduate diploma from federal university of technology Minna. I have 8 yrs experience. Can I go for civil engineer?[/quote
I have HND n PGD in civil engineering too with 8yrs working experience, you can't go for civil engineering technologist because 1. that's a skill level 1 occupation and it requires B.eng 2. Has high competition minimum 75pts.
I will suggest you should either go for civil engineering technician or draftsperson.
@bellong n zany, pls throw more light |

bellong: Civil engineering technician has limited states sponsoring the occupation. To have options for more states, you can either nominate bricklayer or civil engineering draftsperson. These two occupations especially the bricklayer have more states sponsoring it and you can align your experience to any of the two. Thanks sir but I have checked and discover that both occupations civil engineering technician n draftsperson have the same tasks n both are assessed by vetassess with almost the same number of states nominating them. My question is can I use one of either assessment to apply for both n what do vetassess means by verified copy of my certificate? |

jukeblam: Check your occupation and ensure your job description in your reference letter aligns strongly with the expected tasks as stated under your relevant Anzsco code: https://www.anzscosearch.com/312212 (for Civil Engr Tech, that is)
For your role, shouldn't be difficult; however, I'm not sure what other documents VETASSESS strongly harps on to reach their decision. Look through the VETASSESS website first and also this thread for what people had to submit to back their assessment applications.
Also, you shouldn't settle for 10points from English in these present days; I'll suggest you register for PTE and aim for 20points- even if you have to do it more than once. Duly noted sir |

bellong: @Benrichard,
What do you do for LGSC? Your job descriptions will determine your occupation. What you are currently worrying about is the least of your worries.
If you can provide your roles there, I can give you idea of what to do. Thanks for ur prompt reply, I'm a higher technical officer (HTO civil) because of my HND. I supervise, design n draw plans, prepare estimate n carry out the building of primary schools, markets, health centres, rehabilitate roads, basically all civil engineering works. |

Age. Edu HND civil eng 10pt English test targeted 10pt Experience. 2011 til date 15pt Total 60pt
I decided to go for skill 2 civil engineering technician and its asses by vetasses n I'm targeting state/regional nominations. I was employed by local govt service commission n I have been transfer to 3 different local govt during d course of my employment, my question is 1) is it d service commission dat will write my statement of service or each of the local govt I was transfer to ? 2) since the commission/local govt does not have a functioning website or email or phone number, what are my options. |
