princejeto:You have to start your application and get to where you would be required to upload documents to know the number of section that applies to you. As it differs per person, depending on the answers you provided to the asked questions. For instance, a person that answered that he is married would have a section to upload marriage certificate while someone that is single would not have that section. So there are compulsory sections like your travel document section, proof of funds (which for me is the main thing …lol) and then others, depending on what answers you gave. There is also a client information section, where you can upload other supporting documents that can help your application. |
We applied for a one month stay in Canada. 2 weeks in NB and 2 weeks in Ontario. Documents Submitted: My husband is a business person and I applied as a home maker. We submitted: Marriage certificates His 1yrs business MBS His 6months personal MBS ( We ensured the money we would be using for the trip is in his personal and not business account) Company registration documents His business is registered as a business name, so we submitted his tax card and recent personal income tax receipt. Business names don’t require company tax clearance. We also ensured the business name has an active status on CAC website. We submitted our valid UK Visa stamps (2yrs) and that of our children. Pictures of our trip to the UK Cover letter introducing ourselves, explaining lump sum deposit and previous visa denial (my study permit visa was rejected last year) Detailed Itinerary outlining our intended daily activities for the one month we would be there. Invitation letter from a friend that stays in NB, Canada. She is a PR. She attached a copy of her PR card and mortgage doc. We however stated in our letters that we won’t be staying with her. My point is, if you feel you can comfortably take care of your accommodation, and someone is inviting you, don’t allow the person state that they would accommodate and feed you if their financial standing is not really okay. Your host would be required to submit a financial statement to this effect and if it’s not tight enough, it may work against you. So if you can accommodate and feed yourself, it’s okay to state it that you would do these yourself even if someone is inviting you. Hotel and flight bookings (dummy tickets) - we made confirmable reservations we can cancel directly on the hotel website and it was completely free. For the flight tickets, we used Wakanow and paid a token of 10k. Sponsorship letter from my husband stating he would sponsor me fully. Also a separate cost estimation letter, stating clearly how much the trip Willis cost us - return tickets, accommodation, feeding, miscellaneous and how much we have set aside to cover this costs. However, I still attached my 6 months Opay Bank Statement to show that my husband pays me allowances/supports me. Really, the closing balance wasn’t huge, it was about 200k. For home ties: Property documents Pictures of business premises Children’s birth certificates - we are not traveling with our children. Tip: for every section, I did a cover stating what documents are attached and the page they can be found on the pdf. So that nothing is missed. We used the new portal. Good luck to everyone waiting for their approval. |
Hi everyone! This platform is indeed resourceful. And I appreciate everyone here that contributes to this amazing platform. I applied for visitor’s Visa for my husband and myself. Date submitted: 31st July, 2025 BVL: 22nd August PPR: 22nd August. Thank you again for the guidance. God bless you all. |
Olubunmi101:It was exactly same for me….I was always refreshing my mail and praying I don’t receive another mail aside from the collection mail, lol. Go and collect your passport, It’s a good sign your mum has been granted visa. |
onile1975:1. No. That’s because of the nature of my business/work. Like I mentioned, I do affiliate marketing not buying and selling. So I did not see the point paying myself again from commissions received. So I just made expenses directly from my account. 2. Yes. 5,950,000 for me and 5,950,000 for my husband. 5,500,000 for each child. In NGN. For 3 weeks visit. Return Flight fee, accommodation, feeding, transportation and tickets for sight seeing inclusive. 3. Yes 4. For each week, we stated where we plan to stay, the cost of the place, how much we would spend on food, transportation, sightseeing and shopping. We also detailed our activities for each week. |
onile1975:My monthly income isn’t fixed. I am a freelancer. I do affiliate marketing for real estate companies and get paid a commission when I close a deal. So it is not fixed. But for the 6months statement I submitted, I had inflow of about 14M. Living expenses per month is 300,000. But note that I filled that I am dependent on my husband even though I earn something for myself because I am primarily a stay-at-home mother and I do the affiliate marketing business as a side thing. And my husbands statement was buoyant enough to proof this and there were transfers on his statement proofing that he actually sends money to me as monthly allowance. So I don’t think they really bothered about my own financial situation. |

YulPapparrazi:You can use MBS instead of the regular bank statements. It’s just a page. You also don’t need to print out your letters, sign and scan it again. You can just place your signature on the original ms doc and safe as pdf. |
davodyguy:Nope. We however had a UK visa in 2016, which we did not use because it was approved after our proposed travel date. We were a family of 3 then. We submitted: 1. My husbands bank statements (corporate and personal) 2. Introduction letter from my husband that explained the nature of his business and a separate letter explaining the cash inflow and outflows in his bank statements. 3. Detailed itinerary of our trip. We detailed our accommodation plan, activities we would be doing and also estimated the costs of all these. 4. He wrote sponsorship letters for each of us, stating how much we would each spend and that he is covering the entire cost. 5. I wrote an introduction letter for myself, included my bank statements and also included my husband’s. And I clearly stated in the letter that he would be sponsoring. The balance in both my statements was not up to 200k. But the statements had good detailed inflow and outflow. 6months statement. 6. We also included my husband’s personal income tax receipts. He’s business is registered as a business name, so he only pays Personal income tax. He however files his annual returns with CAC so his business is active on their site. 7. Lastly we provided a lot of documents to proof home tie. Landed property docs, pics of business premises, payment receipts etc. 8. And the reason for the trip too also mattered I guess. This year is our 10th year wedding anniversary. That’s the reason we are visiting to celebrate it. |
davodyguy:Thanks. I stated I am self employed, so I submitted my business and personal statements. I attached the statements after my sponsors own and wrote an introduction letter clearly stating that my husband is sponsoring the entire trip. |
Visa Alert! I am a silent reader and I happened to stumble again on this thread just after I submitted my application. ( Its almost becoming a norm for most people to discover this thread after submitting an application with mistakes .)I submitted an application to visit the UK for our family of 6. My husband, to sponsor the trip for us all. Mistake: I entered the individual amount we would be spending in the space provided to answer the question "How much would you spend personally". I misinterpreted the question to mean, what's our individual budget for the trip. so instead of putting 1pound or NGN as the case maybe, I went ahead and wrote the whole sum! I was so scared after i discovered this mistake but thanks to @cashmadam who said in one of her posts that God is still in the business of doing miracles, lol, I decided to be calm and let God do his thing! I think some of these helped my case too: 1. There was a personalized sponsorship letter from my husband for myself and children, stating how much each of us would spend and how much he is providing. 2. After making the mistake of entering the total sum instead of putting 1pound or NGN (since our trip is entirely sponsored by my husband), in the ''How much would you spend personally" question, I still repeated the exact amount as what our sponsors would provide. For instance, after putting 3,000,000 NGN as what we would personally spend, I wrote 3,000,000 NGN as what my sponsor would contribute towards the trip. So I guess the ECO was able to figure that I misinterpreted the question. 3. I provided a detailed itinerary of our planned 3 weeks visit. But in all, I want to attribute it to God, cause it could have gone the way regardless! Anyways, thanks to all the angels here, @giselle and @cashmadam, I have learnt how to properly fill the forms now, and I wont be making same mistake next time! To other applicants that may have made same mistake, I honestly think ECO's are trained to figure misinterpretations of questions and innocent mistakes. So I pray it works out well for you as it did for me. I have attached one of @cashmadam's response that gave me hope. Indeed God does show mercy! All the best! Timeline: Biometrics - 4th Oct Collection Mail: 15th Oct. (Not priority service)
