TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by beveleycakes: 11:37pm On Nov 03, 2015
Hello NivAbuja,

I attended an interview today with my father inlaw who is legally blind for a medical visa. This is the second time in two months. The first interview was going on well until the visa officer wanted the estimate for the cornea transplant to be done on my father inlaw. we told the VO that the doctors needed to see the patient before an estimate can be done. His son is in the US and an American citizen who will be footing the hospital bill. my husband works offshore and cannot travel hence i was ask by my husband to do it. we were giving a yellow leaflet and asked to come back when we have the needed informations.

Today we attended the interview again. My father inlaw was granted a medical visa and mine was rejected. I almost threw up in the Embassy. He is not seeing, cant even see food not to talk of walking to the bathroom. The reason that the VO gave was that airlines will make arrangement for that. The airline is not going to be with him at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.

His son has a job that keeps him always travelling in the states and his wife works with Department of Homeland security (FEMA) and currently on a federal assignment in Oklahoma city. I am the only one that will be there 24/7 to assist him during and after the transplant.

My father inlaw cant travel alone because it was specified in the letter Emory Hospital gave to us. He needs to be accompanied by a family member. The hospital appointment for my father inlaw is December 10th, 2015.

What do I do .

I need answers please. he is dying and desperately needs a cornea transplant on the last remaining eye.

Thanks.
