Lucifyre: Oh! its clearer now why your 2 last brain cells are fighting for 3rd place. Since when does the exception to the norm become the norm. You cited a singular example from 2 sources which was a trending story i remember correctly. How does that translate to most of em, comsidering the poverty index?! Pls tell me Mr anecdotal forbes who specializes in the networth of beggars. joke of a m0ron. Stop reasoning from your anus, come out straight if you're one of street beggars. We'll help your career |

ANlOMA: Lol. Less than 5% of Nigerians have up to a million in their bank account. You can't have a million in your account then choose to sit on the road to beg even if you're cursed Those beggars that have houses and still begging are they also cursed? |

Greattha: Well said.
I remember this begger at oshodi those days who owned 2 storey buildings in different parts of lagos and was a big time customer of Zenith Bank...a begger.
For most of them, it's a profession...not that they lack.
Abi is OP one of them?
Cos I don't understand this his campaign...market no dey like before
Can't you see the economy? OP should be one of them trying to defend his people by kind of having sympathy for them |

mastermaestro: You guys exaggerate these stories. I have stayed in the North. The level of poverty experienced there is worst than what obtains in parts of Sudan and Somalia.
Poverty in the North does not come near to what we call poverty down south. When they tagged poverty capital, it was the Northern Nigeria they had in mind. But what I know is that majority of these people begging for money especially in South have more than enough |

KillaBeans: there was this crippled beggar in Ikire along Ibadan years ago, you wouldn't know that this man has three houses, even a story building and many tenants. The way I view all these beggars changed the day I found out about this man. Whereas those giving them N50 never buy half a plot of land |

ANlOMA: They beg even in their local place.
They're poor people and beggers nothing more.
You can be living comfortably and decide to sit on the road with dirty clothes begging for 5,,5 Naira See that's their own way of hustle, they can beg for anything at anywhere but don't be surprise that they have millions of naira in account |

Jeezuzpick: An old man came to Osun from Sokoto many years ago, to sell rams for Sallah.
He sold a trailer load of rams.
He told my colleague in Hausa that he will not touch his money for transport back to Sokoto, but rather, he will turn beggar and make the transport fare back from the charity of unsuspecting people.
People will hand their ₦100 to a man who has millions!
That's exactly what he did.
He entered Olaiya roundabout (no flyover there back then, Oyinlola days) and begged his way to pay for transport back home. Imagine that kind of a thing |

NairalandGOAT1: I'm telling you!
Same way OP has what he does to earn a living, a profession or handiwork that's how begging is to them!
You'd be surprised some if not most of these people are landlords in their hometowns. They only come to the southern cities to "hustle". I once lived in Kano so I know these people, they are just in South to hustle but have more than enough at their local places |

Ajoray: I stopped giving beggars money after I heard some of them use it for funny purposes like cleaning away their problems and so. I'm not the overly spiritual type but better safe than sorry That's another reason people should stop giving them money. Wealthy people do approach them to buy the money they realized from begging for spiritual purposes |

Melagros: COMRADES, please this is an appeal, whenever you see these beggars help them with the little you can, the N50, N100, we give them goes a long way in their lives
I am aware of the ongoing hardship in our land, but these are people who are incapacitated in almost all ramifications of living
Please, endeavour to do so, your pot of oil will never run dry. LET ME BURST YOUR BRAIN, THESE BEGGARS YOU SEE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH. INFACT SOME OF THEM HAVE WHAT CAN TAKE THEM TO SAUDI ARABIA FOR HAJJ. |
