You guys exaggerate these stories. I have stayed in the North. The level of poverty experienced there is worst than what obtains in parts of Sudan and Somalia.

Poverty in the North does not come near to what we call poverty down south. When they tagged poverty capital, it was the Northern Nigeria they had in mind.

But what I know is that majority of these people begging for money especially in South have more than enough

You'd be surprised some if not most of these people are landlords in their hometowns. They only come to the southern cities to "hustle".

I once lived in Kano so I know these people, they are just in South to hustle but have more than enough at their local places

I stopped giving beggars money after I heard some of them use it for funny purposes like cleaning away their problems and so. I'm not the overly spiritual type but better safe than sorry

That's another reason people should stop giving them money. Wealthy people do approach them to buy the money they realized from begging for spiritual purposes
