You work to live, not live to work." - Anonymous #ilovemyjob #journalismjobs #ProudlyAJournalist Be proud of what you do. Even if you are out of job right now, still be proud of your profession. Politics / Why Buhari Should Pardon Convicted Soldiers - Ezekwesili by Bichyluv(m): 7:09pm On Jan 05, 2016
A former minister of Education, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, has asked Nigerians to appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to get pardon the soldiers arrested for mutiny in the fight against Boko Haram.

Ezekwesili, leader of the Bring Back Our Girls group, said the soldiers were wrongly punished for refusing to fight the insurgency ill-equipped, considering that some former public officials shared the money meant to equip the army.

Delivering a keynote address titled: “A caring society grows faster and better,” at the launch of the Bunmi Adedayo Foundation on Tuesday in Lagos, Ezekwesili said the diversion of the funds was a demonstration of how political leaders and citizens exhibit ‘I don’t care’ attitude towards governance.
She said: “The exemplification of a society of ‘I don’t care’ could not have been worse in manifestation than recent revelations that while the tragedy went on in the Northeast, those responsible for governance sat around the table, watched citizens being taken out by the bunions of terror and felt comfortable to share the resources meant to equip the fighting soldiers and then turned around and said to those among the soldiers that refused to be sent on a suicide mission that they deserved to die.
“How else can you define ‘I don’t care’? I hope you will join me in telling the President of our country that those soldiers don’t deserve to die. Our President must use the prerogative of mercy that the constitution gives him to waive any kind of charges against those ones, we are not saying all soldiers, because some may have misbehaved in the course of this war.
“But we are saying that it is reprehensible that our society will degenerate to the level where leaders, who as are found in these other societies, stay awake worried about the challenges of their citizens, in our own case, stayed awake sharing the resources, meant to protect the territory and the people.”

Politics / PDP Describes Budget 2016 As Fraud by Bichyluv(m): 4:48pm On Dec 22, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the N6.8 trillion 2016 federal budget presented to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari as “a big fraud and executive conspiracy tailored towards mortgaging the future of the nation.”

The party faulted the President’s decision to borrow N2 trillion, describing it as the height of recklessness and deceit from a government that trends on propaganda.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP accused the government of trying to use bogus welfare programme and phantom capital projects as cover and conduit to syphon the funds to satisfy partisan interests, particularly to settle huge campaign debts.

The statement said, “It is obvious that this budget is an extension of the campaign promises of the APC government, presented as a manifesto filled with bogus promises which implementation will be inconclusive, thereby allowing the APC to once again deny their promises.

“There has never been any known economy in the world where government deliberately mortgage the future of its nation by borrowing excessively to finance partisan interests while hiding under bogus welfare programmes... Continues at www.thenationonlineng.net

Romance / He's My Fiancé And My Mum's Lover Too! (1) by Bichyluv(m): 7:40pm On Dec 16, 2015
The first day I took my fiancé, Denis home to meet my parents, was supposed to be a happy occasion for the family. My parents had known about my relationship with him for sometime and had always wanted me to bring him home. But I had delayed their meeting him until I was really sure he was the right man for me.
A few months ago, I finally took Dennis to meet them. As things turned out, it was one meeting that should never have taken place.

Meeting Dennis
I first met my fiancé at work. In fact, he was my supervisor and boss at the company I worked with when I newly joined. Initially, I was wary about him because of my experience with my former boss at the last place I worked. That man gave me a tough time all because I turned down his advances to date him. And this was a man that was married with seven children!

Anyway, I should not have worried about Dennis. He treated me fairly, more like a younger sister than a boss. He was always giving advice both on the job and even in personal matters too like relationships. Maybe because I was the new girl in the office, a lot of the guys there wanted to date me. They kept pestering me for dates and would not give up even when I had no interest in them.

"Don't take them too seriously, Meg. That's what they do whenever a new female staff comes. Especially a pretty one like you," my boss advised me one day after observing one of my co-workers, a notorious womaniser giving me his 'manifesto.'

With time, I got to know more about my 'oga', or boss. Though of mature age, he was about 35, he was not married and seemed to have no fiancé. It was a colleague of mine who told me his story one afternoon during our lunch break.

Politics / Re: Julius Berger Speaks On President Buhari's Economic Agenda by Bichyluv(m): 12:21pm On Jun 18, 2015
If we can remember clearly, how long did it take OBJ to appoint ministers during his administration? The same thing for GEJ, how long did it take Jonathan to appoint? Slow and steady they say win the race. The rot on ground is really deep. If Buhari hits the ground running, a lot of parastatals may collapse entirely
