I wish the department could get DANIEL back after his Unlawful Arrest by NDLEA operatives at Abeokuta ogun state

The Bad part of all of this is, him remaining in their custody and missing his school work which will lead to an extra year or the worst which is court sentence. Please help in whatever means necessary

i like you courage of voicing out.
Adebayo Daniel Tosin
the course adviser of his department is currently on leave ,he left the hostel with his locker key, the only source of identification will be his course form or previous examinations docket which is in the course adviser office, no one knows his online portal password. And the ndlea operatives charge 8k per call, if we try calling him that will shorten the amount we have currently, We are still trying to contact activists/lawyers and organizations that will work with us for free.
His project supervisor is meant to review chapter one and two of his project on Monday .
Heaven help him!
God help us all .

That's why they need to run to human right organisations like JDPC without wasting time.
A letter from them or a 30 minute meeting with their NDLEA local commander will make them start asking whether they have enough evidence to even take him to court if he can prove he simply came around to visit a friend and his presence in that hotel is simply coincidental and at best circumstantial.

Stop enriching this uniformed criminals, except of course he can be proven guilty. If he is actually guilty, then the 150,000 is actually a slap on the wrist.

I can't imagine lodging in a hotel during a travel and some morons simply come to arrest me because criminals also lodged in there. Ofcourse I'll gladly stay in the cells for 24 hours to allow investigation. That's the maximum the police is required to hold any suspect when there is a court closeby. After 24 hours, if I'm still detained every policeman I can remember their names will be mentioned on my motion for fundamental right and claim of damages.

They have their promotions to protect, they have their jobs to protect and I'm sure their ogas will be waiting to sacrifice the junior officers to save his name and office and be willing to use that.

Please get a human right activist or even any respectable person of good standing in the society to speak with the highest officer in that NDLEA office where he is detained. Real questions will be asked in that office and he'll have a good chance of being released if he is innocent. No prosecuting officer even wants to waste their time going to court if he is not being paid by another party especially on a case that might even be difficult to prove.

mikkyjagga1:
What exactly is the crime they are accusing him of? Why not get in touch with a lawyer?
They're charging him for illegal possession of marijuana, it's a hotel and a chunk of marijuana was found how does that relate with everyone there, he's just a victim of circumstances.

You can't just arrest someone and say if 150k is not given he will serve 7 years in jail.

What was is offence?
They claimed for him to be there he must have smoked, they took every worker present in the hotel too

Is there any exhibit that was found on him? I'm certain there isnt we paid 5000 to phone him in the cell or wherever he's been kept

Has he been charged to court? No the ndlea said he'll be charged in two weeks, the problem is his parents don't have the financial capacity to follow a court case .

The court decides who go to prison and not NDLEA. : In a case where the accused has no defendant what will happen

Ndlea are not the court and cannot determine who goes to court or who doesn't. As long as he can maintain and prove he wasn't caught with drugs and simply came to see a friend.

Get a pro bono lawyer or a public defender. You can contact human right volunteers like the JDPC. They will be cheaper and usually help those who can't afford exorbitant legal fees.

If he is innocent, let him stand his ground, the 150,000 naira NDLEA is outright extortion. As longer his being in that hotel is not connected with drugs he will walk but you guys have to do the right thing by not paying that extortion fee except he is guilty.

The first thing the lawyer may do is to file for fundamental and start claiming damages for harrasment on an innocent client who was arrested for being in a hotel with a friend.
His parents barely have enough to see himself through school talkless of following up a court case
