Sports / 4 Worst Football Disasters In History by Bilkisu0299: 10:13am On Feb 04, 2021
We all watch football and enjoy the fun that comes from it. But do you know that this same football led to the lost of many lives in the past? If you don't know, then read through to the end as I will be sharing the 5 worst football disasters that ever happened in the history of football.

1. The 1958 Manchester United tragedy

In 1958, Legendary Manchester United manager Max Busby, was bringing his Manchester United team home after an away match, when the tragedy happened.
After refuelling their plane at Munich, the plane fails to take off due to an icy runway. The plane ski off the runway hitting a tree and a house. 23 of the 44 crew footballers and journalists on board died. Another two were so badly injured that they never play it again. This crash will always be remembered for the end of a promising generation of players.

2. Hillsborough (UK's most notorious football disaster)

This disaster occurred on 15 April 1989 during a football match at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.

It was an FA Cup semi-final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.

The stadium was already filled up, and many fans were still outside the stadium. But then, a police chief superintendent opened one of the exit doors to allow fans from outside to come into the stadium.

However he failed to monitor or assign someone to monitor the people coming in. Many people went through to the already overcrowded standing platform. A crush followed, killing 96 people, with over 700 injured. It was concluded that lack of police control was responsible for the deaths.

3. The Bradford City Fire

This tragedy occurred on 11th May 1985 during a match between Bradford and Lincoln City at the Valley Parade stadium.

Just 5 minutes before the end of first half, the commentator reported that a small fire had broken out, but the wind rapidly extend the blaze.

Fans quickly began to escape via the pitch and emergency exits. But locked doors slow the evacuation. Fire service arrived seven minutes after the smoke was first noticed, but the damage had already been done. 56 people lost their lives with more than 256 injured.

4. The Heysel Disaster
This disaster occurred during the European Cup final at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels, Belgium on 29th May 1985.

Just around an hour before kick-off when Juventus are to face Liverpool, Liverpool fans engaged Juventus fans and soon, rocks were thrown and fighting began.

Juventus fans then move towards a perimeter wall in order to escape the projectiles. But with the perimeter wall blocking the exit, the sheer weight of numbers and the crumbling nature of the stadium cause the stadium to collapse.

39 people died and more than 600 were injured. In the aftermath, all English clubs were banned from European competition for 5 years.

So those were the five worst football disasters in history.

Sports / Frank Lampard Says He Has "Respect" For Jurgen Klopp Despite Jibes by Bilkisu0299: 7:51pm On Sep 19, 2020
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard insists he has "huge respect" for Jurgen Klopp despite his stormy relationship with the Liverpool boss.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard insists he has "huge respect" for Jurgen Klopp despite his stormy relationship with the Liverpool boss. Lampard launched an expletive-laced touchline tirade at Klopp and his assistant Pep Lijnders as tempers rose during Chelsea's 5-3 loss at Liverpool last season. He followed that blast by warning Klopp not to get "too arrogant" and the feud has continued into the new campaign, with Liverpool's Premier League visit to Chelsea on Sunday serving as another potential flashpoint in the growing rivalry.

Klopp took a swipe at Lampard's 200 million pound (USD 259 million) close-season spending spree -- which included Chelsea beating Liverpool to the signature of Germany forward Timo Werner.

He said his club could not act in the same way as those owned by oligarchs, in a reference to Blues supremo Roman Abramovich.

Lampard responded by saying it was "slightly amusing" to see Klopp complain about Chelsea's transfer investments when Liverpool had spent heavily in the past.

But Klopp was diplomatic about their relationship this week, insisting he admired Lampard as a player and was impressed with his managerial work.

Lampard was also keen to draw a line under the row when he spoke to the media ahead of Chelsea's clash with the Premier League champions, saying he had huge respect for his rival.

"What he has done in his time at Liverpool has been incredible and that is on him as the focal point of the club and the individual talent they have brought in," the Chelsea boss said on Friday.

Religion / Paradise by Bilkisu0299: 11:41am On Aug 16, 2020
What do you want most out of life? A nice house, expensive clothes, money, wealth, opulence? What if you were told about a place where you could get everything you wanted and keep it forever? What would you say? Of course you would be very excited and want to see this perfect place right away. Surely no one would ever object to living in such a wonderful place.
Now just think. Has anyone ever talked to you about a place filled with a countless array of blessings, where beauty is spread out at your feet? Surely someone must have done so, telling you and all other people about the existence of a life – the life of Paradise – where everything that you want will be prepared for you. Everyone knows that after death there is an endless Paradise. Everyone judged worthy to enter it will find everything they desire there; they will receive their rewards and blessings, and live in a perfect place surrounded by beauty forever. To those faithful servants who pass the test of this earthly life, Allah has promised an unprecedented land. The limited time one spends in this world, on the other hand, is an opportunity to attain these beauties.
