You with bitter soul. This doesn't concern you. He mentioned Igbos in South South. You are not Igbo but you are pained to see Igbos in the South South.

You have Yorubas in kogi and other places. No igbo does interfere with anything you say and do. You also have other tribes in other places, Igbos don't interfere.

But once you mention igbo in anything, you will be pained. You like to unite Yorubas in other places but you hate it when igbo does the same. That is bitterness thought to you from childhood. The fact that this doesn't concern you but you want to discredit it shows the type of person you truly are.

Why not leave igbo matter for Igbos and concentrate on your tribe. I can never be jealous of Yorubas trying to unite with other Yorubas in other places. But am surprised at the mention of Igbos in other places, you get bitter and jealous and sad thereby igornizing in pains for igbo affairs.

Currently, there is so much killing in your land. Please try to fix it and leave igbo affairs for Igbos because you are not Igbo and concentrate on your tribe because hating Igbos will not make you better

Here is my story. It was a night flight. I arrived the airport on time because i had been told that the officials might delay you and take advantage because it is your first time. So I passed thru security and arrive in the immigration section.

The guy greeted me and asked me point blank to give him something before i can pass (I was young and looked like an easy prey and had gone alone and was the only one in the counter that moment). I told him that i had nothing left with me. He insisted that i should find something for him unless i want to go inside office. I calmly told him that i don't have anything. The next thing was he sent me to one office. When i arrive, there are two immigration officers already dealing with two young guys. there. They later extorted them.

Now is was my turn. They asked me where i was going? i told them. They said who are you going to see? I told them. They asked to see the invitation letter and the ID copy of the person. I showed them everything. They told me that they do not allow people without BTA to fly. I told them i got my BTA. They requested to see it (I believe this is legal). I was wearing a short inside and they could see that the packing was deep down. i didn't care to unzip and bring the money out. In fact, the way i package the 1000 dollars, they would have known that they won't get a penny. But they decided to try their lock with me.

So i brought out the money and showed they and made sure to count it with them while am the one holding it both the ones counted and the ones not counted. After counting, i didn't care to know anything about questions on the money because i started repackaging the money inside my inner wear in their presence. After i have finished, i sat down and was waiting for them to hand me my documents. Surprisingly, one of them told me that the signature in my invitation letter is fake. I laughed. They asked me why i was laughing, i told them that i am surprise to hear that statement from him because the invitation was for the embassy and the embassy verified my story and issued me a visa. I asked him, if the signature was fake, will i be issued that visa? They never answered the question. They told me that first time travelers always find something for them before they could be allowed to go. I told them that they would have said it before i come to the airport because on assumption that i would not be needing naira, i started giving it out to people and i don't have any naira with me now. They said that they do take dollars. I told them that the dollars is what i will use to arrange myself there and not in Nigeria. I told them that the person already warned me that 1 penny from the money should not miss. They asked me what i m doing for a living, i said am a student. They asked me when am i coming back, i told them. They were looking for discrepancies to hold me down and they were looking from something different from what was written in the invitation letter. Soon, more people started coming into the office, so they wanted me to leave so that they could not learn from my courage.

So they called me out and outside, they gave me all my documents. I went back to the immigration guy who referred me there, he said am not done yet. He referred me to NDLEA. I arrived in that place and met a woman in the counter there. She asked me to do something or she will do her job. I asked her, do something like what, she said point blank, find something for me. I told her that i don't have anything to give. I wanted to give this woman something from my heart but i realize that the aim of the immigration officer was to punish me and send me where i would pay more money. If i had spend money, it may seem that his objectives had been accomplished. I could even see him observing what was going on from a distance. So i told the woman next time, i will see you because my money has been depleted.. She still said the same thing that they take dollars, i said aside my BTA, i don't have dollars to give you now but i will see you next time. She refused to release my passport and i kept standing there for sometime and also observing what was going on. Soon, i saw a girl coming to her and she used same tactics and she paid something. I kept standing there like a lone tree but i never i have not committed any crime nor broke the law. After some few minutes, she angrily threw my passport to me with the following words, "Go and thank God that i am not feeling well today, i would have done a proper job on you".

I took my passport and went to the same guy and looking at his face, he was not happy and kept sighing. He reluctantly stamp my passport and i was allowed to go free.

Lesson i learnt. This could be applied for all Government Institution in Nigeria
1. Go early because they don't care about time but you do.
2. Know your story and stick to it
3. Be firm but calm and show them respect especially in your answers. (Abusing them will not solve anything)
4. Ensure you have the backing of the law

I received my grant today.

Application date: 5th November

Biometrics : 9th November

Medicals: 14th November

S56: 25th November (Clear copy of my passport was requested)

Grant date; 29th November (Today)

My employers, sponsor etc were not contacted. But I submitted genuine documents and God did it. Thank you Jesus!!!...........God that did it for me will also do it for all those expecting. My advice to you is; pray more when you lodge in your application.

Please give me details of everything you did with the tax request

It depends on what you submitted. What did you submit, that made them to request for tax certificate? From your answer, I can give you an advise

I applied for MSc of 2 years program.

I applied as self funded applicant. I submitted my bank statement. I applied from South Africa. I feel that they may require me to submit tax clearance certificate.

Since am not in Nigeria, I am having difficulty in these. Any suggestions will be appreciated. If there is any one with a similar case, please kindly assist

We can't say. But you should have prepared yourself ahead of time... Go, pay the tax payment. Don't show them the bank receipt, show them only the tax clearance certificate or card. Goodluck to you.
