Investment › Re: From Market Leader To Delisting: The Dunlop Nigeria Story by BioData45: 9:36am On Jun 19
We can be so poor at management. Everyone want to have extra even after you pay them salary. Sometimes, you feel like you are not paying staff enough but you realize that they still try to bypass control system when you pay them well.

That's why a business owner need both internal and external controls. Even after the two, you yourself get involve in the system, if not, you end up like many Nigeria failed businesses.
Business › Re: Oil Price Now 74$ Per Barrel , Why Is Fuel Still Selling For 1340/ Liter? by BioData45: 8:49am On Jun 18
nairalanda1:
LOL...it has nothing to do with monopoly...especially since 1) we have several other refineries 2) importation of fuel still happens
Sorry about business mention. But I don't take these your 2 points. It is government fault sha, don't know why individual can build a refinery successfully but government can't.

nairalanda1:
How is choosing mass communication as a course a sign of government failure?
.
I highlighted two points, when you interview many children in the locality about what they want to become, they only mention random things they've heard from friends or society. Not something their parents are telling and preparing them for. Parents need to do more.

Second one is government fault that you mentioned sir.

nnamdi640:
Body go tell you, imagine marrying two wives under this bad economy, don't tell me that some men are capable, let those men use that money to give their children the best, not all women will marry, some are destined not to get married, same go to men
But those wives too are not handicapped. They will also be working.
Business › Re: Oil Price Now 74$ Per Barrel , Why Is Fuel Still Selling For 1340/ Liter? by BioData45: 8:34am On Jun 18
nairalanda1:
Well, the old fuel stocks have to be sold off first, or else the marketers and refiners lose money..
The only reason for this is monopoly not all this grammar you wrote sir.

They'll lose money but when they gain do they call us. You people talk as if we don't do business too.
Health › Re: Nigerian Doctors Raise Alarm: Only 55,000 Doctors For Nigerians by BioData45: 8:27am On Jun 18
I wonder why we've more mass communication students than medicine. Both government and parents have failed.

Let encourage our children to embrace science more than all these useless courses. And government should encourage universities to take more medicine than Bio chemistry or any useless courses all over the place.

Japa isn't really the only problem, we can harness the foreign demand for our doctors to our advantage.

I hope you have a child or two.

The system of one man one woman is of the disadvantage of women because of their population, but since they always champion the statement, they should prepare for things like this.

MakindeHassan:
This is a lie sold by Nigerian politicians to the citizens so you don’t expect better from them. .
For a consuming economy like theirs, it will trigger inflation. Even here in Nigeria, we produce less and expect money distributed anyhow and not expect inflation.

This is why no one should underestimate the power of strong internal control. It should be well and strictly implemented at all time. In fact, even if the person is your father, he must be under internal control.

Politics › Re: Insecurity: House Of Reps Vote On State Police Bill Today by BioData45: 9:50am On Jun 11
dgr8truth:
State police is not a guarantee of a crime-free society. Crime exists in countries with highly decentralized policing systems just as it exists in countries with centralized policing systems. The effectiveness of law enforcement depends less on who controls the police and more on the quality of institutions, accountability mechanisms, intelligence gathering, training, funding, and the rule of law.

While proponents of state police argue that it will bring security closer to the people and improve local intelligence, there are legitimate concerns about the potential for abuse. In a political environment where democratic institutions are still evolving, placing armed security structures directly under the control of state governments may create opportunities for political intimidation, suppression of opposition voices, election manipulation, and abuse of power.

The fundamental issue facing Nigeria's policing system is not merely its centralized structure but its lack of operational independence. A police force that is truly professional and independent should be loyal to the constitution and the law, not to politicians at any level of government. Whether the police are controlled from Abuja or from state capitals, political interference will continue to undermine effectiveness if institutional safeguards are weak.

What Nigeria urgently needs is a framework that guarantees the actual independence of the police. This should include transparent appointment processes, secure tenure for senior officers, independent oversight bodies, protection from political pressure, improved welfare for personnel, and strict accountability mechanisms for misconduct. Such reforms would allow law enforcement agencies to act professionally without fear or favor.

Security is ultimately a function of strong institutions rather than the level of government that controls them. Creating state police without first addressing the issues of accountability, professionalism, and political interference risks decentralizing the existing problems rather than solving them. The goal should not simply be to create more police forces, but to build security institutions that are independent, competent, accountable, and trusted by the citizens they serve.

A truly independent police force, backed by strong laws and oversight mechanisms, is more likely to deliver lasting security than merely transferring control from the federal government to the states.
State police is the solution. This will evolve into having effective community policing. No be everything we go dey speak English for.
