Nigerians will now have to pay N50 as stamp duty for any electronic activities including receipts, notifications and certificates /agreements, The federal Inland Revenue Service disclosed the information in a circular on its official website signed by Muhammad nami, the chairman of FIRS. The service will now charge citizens N50 stamp duties on electronic mails and notifications. SMS and social media are not left out as e-mails and whatsapp are also included. The FIRS also included all receipts either hard copy or generated like the RRR and other electronically generated receipt and other legal documents.
