Much should not have been expected from this young man! His father was the First foreign-born Mayor of East-Cleveland, Ohio. An Ibo man from Nigeria, instead of using his office to promote goodwill, he tried, in typical selfish Ibo fashion, to greedily enrich himself to the detriment of his constituents. To show his that this was not Eastern Nigeria where criminals posing as elected officials are celebrated, his aszz was thrown in prison. While serving his jail time, his son, clearly acting out the wishes of his thieving father, murder his poor mother! Hopefully, he gets to share his prison cell with his father!

CLEVELAND — The son of the imprisoned former East Cleveland mayor will spend the rest of his life behind bars for killing his mother -- shooting her eight times in the face and body while she watched TV in the living room of her Cleveland home.
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Nancy Fuerst sentenced Clifton Onunwor this morning to life in prison without parole. A jury found Onunwor, 23, guilty earlier this month of aggravated murder and tampering with evidence.
Onunwor maintains his innocence and begged Fuerst for mercy before his sentencing. He said he loved and respected his mother, Diane, and is grief-stricken by her death.

"I have been suffering with the anguish of not knowing who did this to my family," Onunwor said. "I didn't commit these crimes. ,  I never had any type of resentment toward my mother."

Diane Onunwor's sister, Elaine Cermak, also implored the judge for mercy on her nephew's behalf.
"I can't even begin to know the excruciating heartbreak Clifton felt when discovering the lifeless body of his mother in her home," Cermak said, as Onunwor squeezed his eyes shut and sobbed in the courtroom. "I know my nephew would never hurt a strand of hair on his mother's head, no less murder her."
Onunwor's motive for the murder is still unclear. Prosecutors said before the trial that they would prove that he harbored deep-seated resentment and rage toward his mother for playing a role in the conviction of his father, Emmanuel, on bribery and corruption charges in 2004.
Emmanuel Onunwor is the former mayor of East Cleveland.
But federal prosecutors told The Plain Dealer that Diane Onunwor had no role in her ex-husband's prosecution, and the revenge theory was not introduced to the jury.
Clifton Onunwor worked as a security guard at a scrap-metal yard and carried a 9 mm Glock semiautomatic handgun, Assistant County Prosecutor Mark Mahoney told the jury during the trial.
In the months before Diane Onunwor's death, Clifton Onunwor repeatedly asked, sometimes begged, a co-worker to trade guns with him.
The co-worker refused every time. But another friend, whom the defendant knew from a security job at a gas station, agreed to swap his 9 mm Smith & Wesson pistol for Onunwor's gun the day before Diane Onunwor's body was discovered. Bullets found at the crime scene had been fired from the Smith & Wesson.
Mahoney said Clifton Onunwor was under great stress last September when the crime was committed. The defendant was under financial strain, had girlfriend problems and had a falling-out with his mother, Mahoney said.

Nah, but in all seriousness, this shiyyt is crazy! I had this discussion with a friend. He's Ibo, been here since he was 11 yrs old (is 33 yrs old now), raised in Alabama, yet, he thinks women are supposed to be properties; BECAUSE THE IBO COMMUNITY SAYS SO, NO WONDER HE NEVER GETS NO GALS TO STAY WITH HIM FOR LONG! One thing I give to the Ibos though is their ability to brainwash their kids into accepting, as the Gospel, even their most archaic beliefs!

DUISBURG, Germany – A stampede inside a tunnel crowded with techno music fans left 15 people dead and dozens injured at the famed Love Parade festival in western Germany on Saturday.
Other revelers initially kept partying at the event in Duisburg, near Duesseldorf, unaware of the deadly panic that started when police tried to prevent thousands more from entering the already-jammed parade grounds.
Authorities were still trying to determine exactly what happened at the event, which drew hundreds of thousands of people, but the situation was "very chaotic," police commissioner Juergen Kieskemper said.
Emergency workers had trouble getting to the victims in the wide, 500- to 600-meter-long (500- to 600-yard) tunnel that led to the grounds. The area around the tunnel was a hectic scene, with bodies lying on the ground as rescue workers rushed to aid them. Many of the injured were loaded into Red Cross vans and driven away.
Kieskemper said that just before the stampede occurred at about 5 p.m. (1500 GMT, 11 a.m. EDT), police closed off the area where the parade was being held because it was already overcrowded. They told revelers over loudspeakers to turn around and walk back in the other direction before the panic broke out, he said.
Eyewitness Udo Sandhoefer told n-tv television that even though no one else was being let in people still streamed into the tunnel, causing "a real mass panic."

"At some point the column (of people) got stuck, probably because everything was closed up front, and we saw that the first people were already lying on the ground," he said.
"Others climbed up the walls and tried somehow to get into the grounds from the side, and the people in the crowd that moved up simply ran over those who were lying on the ground."
Another witness, a young man who wasn't named, told n-tv the tunnel became so crowded that people began falling. "It got tighter and tighter from minute to minute and at some point everyone just wanted out," he said. "People were just pushed together until they fell over."
Duisburg city officials decided at a crisis meeting to let the parade go on to prevent more panic and another stampede, said city spokesman Frank Kopatschek.
Police said the fatalities included nine women and six men.
It is the worst accident of its kind since nine people were crushed to death and 43 more were injured at a rock festival in Roskilde, Denmark, in 2000. That fatal accident occurred when a huge crowd pushed forward during a Pearl Jam gig.
Germany's new president expressed his dismay at the deaths.
"Such a catastrophe that brings death, suffering and pain during a peaceful festival of happy young people is terrible," President Christian Wulff said, according to his office.
The Love Parade was once an institution in Berlin, but has been held in the industrial Ruhr region of western Germany since 2007.
The original Berlin Love Parade grew from a 1989 peace demonstration into a huge outdoor celebration of club culture that drew about 1.5 million people at its peak in 1999. But it suffered from financial problems and tensions with city officials in later years, and eventually moved.
