Beautifully written....

Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

John 14:27 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

So this is a bit weird. I started off typing the scripture above just in response to the ones you posted, which are one of my favorites.

As I typed out those words from Phil 4:6, I realized it was an answer to a pressing concern I had put before God this morning to give me wisdom on how to mediate in a family matter that was brought to my attention. One part of me wanted to act fast by placing a call today with the hope of nipping things in the bud, while another part wanted to fast/pray with the party concerned before making the call.

I marvel at this God shaaa. His ways are past searching!

PS: I only just noticed the OP has same scripture. I actually responded to the post above before looking at the thread.

They've not changed. Still patchy. Better to pay same price or add small money for Fido. I think even Public Mobile is better than Freedom and gives you the real freedom of no contract.

Public Mobile offers the best bang for your buck. Plus, they have the best coverage of all the second-tier networks.

Freedom is a No No!!!

To be honest, these guys are just devising new means of looting/expending the security budget.

Heck! Nobody cares whether an equipment is made in Nigeria or not! In fact, there's no time for all such experimentation - they have only one job and that's to procure and provide for those guys out there in the scorching heat and dry desert all that they need to stay alive/win the war.

Calm down sir... Liverpool has done well without doubt, but thank the stars for the absence of the cutting edge in Man City, the growing pains of Man United, the unabated decline of Arsenal, transfer ban on Chelsea coupled with a novice manager (like United), Everton's nightmare of a season, and Spur's determination to ruin Pochettino...

I just checked how much I spent from January till date on buying Tim Hortons (double double) and timbits... I realized I have spent close to $500. At least $2 5 times a week on coffee and timbits.

Please who is on this table with me and how can we break this addiction? That old fashion timbits by Tim Hortons is the biggest weakness I have at the moment. Everywhere you go in Canada, Tim Hortons all up in your face.

Thank God I don’t smoke or do alcohol, if not ehn, na only God know how much those ones for Dey take as well.

I bought is brand new from Nigeria. By unlocked I mean it’s not locked to any carrier because I had used a chatr sim on the same phone when I came to Canada earlier in the year for soft landing.

However, I paid for a 3rd party service to find out if the iphone was locked then I was told my phone is locked to US reseller Flex Policy

As I guessed, that iPhone is locked to a US carrier. It is not much different from using a blacklisted device/iPhone. In Nigeria and lots of countries, your device will work on local networks, but in North America, forget it!

So, here's what I think happened with your device;

Whoever sold that device to you bought it from the US, and though you may be able to buy an unlocked iPhone from the US, they are technically all locked to a US carrier the minute you pop in a US sim card. Now, because Canada and the US have an existing policy on information sharing across their network carriers (particularly for devices to enable a global IMEI blacklist), you may have been able to use that iPhone on Chatr when you arrived, but as soon as Rogers (Chatr is owned by Rogers) shares device information with the likes of Tmobile or AT&T in the US, your IMEI must have been flagged as a device that belongs to their network. You return, but these guys want nothing to do with your device anymore - it has been blacklisted (the same way you can't keep dating a girl after you find out she's your guys' girl grin).

What should you do? Call Apple and find out what carrier your device is locked to and harass the life of that network carrier on social media (I recommend Twitter for this exercise) till they let you go. I advised social media because, if you stick to just phone calls, they will keep tossing you around.

Cheers mate!

Hello fam,

Please did anyone encounter this issue, where your iPhone from Nigeria does not accept a Canadian sim card but gives you the attached error message. Please note that my iPhone is unlocked. Please how did u resolve it?

That device seems to be locked by the network carrier that sold the iPhone.

Did you buy that iPhone brand new? Are you using a chip with the sim? When you say "unlocked", do you mean you have an activation code from say, Tmobile or AT&T?

Why do people generally assume that if things are not working out in someone's life, it's a lack of faith and belief on their part?

I have learnt that my job is to pray and God's job is to answer in His own time and in His own way. However long that takes, but when I get tired I stop and go back to it later.

No amount of faith, anxiety or desperation moves God to act before He is ready. We are called to serve, it is not the other way round.

Buy USD and change to CAD when you arrive. You will get about 280 CAD to 1 Naira after all conversions. Don't waste your time trying to source CAD from Nigeria.

Good afternoon all. Please and please I am in a dilemma

To get my POF, I had a lot of family members transfer money to me. My question is:

1. If I use the money to buy T.bills, do I still need to give CIC my bank statement?
2. Can I do more than more than 1 gift deed to prove my different family members gave me the money?

Would appreciate your timely response

You may go ahead and buy Tbills without providing a copy of your bank statement to IRCC. However, if you were a Boy Scout then you know you should BE PREPARED for possible outcomes, such as an ADR for POF.

My advice - ensure you have all the gift deeds ready and a water-tight explanation for large or irregular in-flows into your account.

Hey bro, I have a question as a lot of rumours going about these days.

so is it possible for someone to have 460 points for Canadian pr & not still get ITA? Someone told me he has been on this thing for 3 years with 460 & I'm really doubting his statement

Brother, that's very untrue. Don't pay any attention to that person.

While I must confess that it seems to be get more difficult by the day, due to younger and well qualified applicants in the pool, 460 should still get one an ITA. If I recall correctly, there's been almost 10 draws this year alone with target scores less than or equal to 460.

My advice - do all you can while the sun is still shining because this immigration policy can be altered at any time. Remember US Visa Lottery, right?

Is the role changing to get a job or get PR?
A friend did exactly this not long after we landed. My guy padded his resume, scaled the interview and got a job at a construction firm as a project coordinator. Has a PM masters from Europe, and a certification he just have passed using dumps so the interview must have been a sort of walkover, but his real life PM experience was meh. He was struggling at work and was fired after 6 weeks cheesy
I think gift deeds are allowed. Real gift deed Sha. Landing without having the pof is real suffer head
.

Mostly done to get a job in Canada. Lol...I can imagine how the guy must have struggled - coordinating/managing projects isn't a walk in the park, like most people assume. And you're right about the POF - Canada, especially Toronto, can be very expensive. Anyway, I see things have degenerated into insults here, so I'll step back.

The question we should be asking really is how did someone like "maternal" get into Canada...

Very uncultured individual...

While I agree he can be uncouth (me sef don call am out in the past) in his approach to a discourse, you definitely can't knock the finer points of his argument, especially on this current topic of refugees/elections/Canadian workplace.

The older I become and the more I travel (experience other cultures), there's one truth that becomes more glaring - humans are the same everywhere. It can be very difficult to judge a situation or matter without knowing the background story (I'm still guilty of this, but getting there slowly...).

PS: On a lighter note, those of you at the back that borrowed money from family/friends to make up your POF or changed that line or role in your resume (trust me, I see some LinkedIn profiles of former colleagues and I scream...Lol), oya come out from your hiding place.

As a matter of fact
Most of us here are not

If we are facing the short end of the stick like most Nigerians
We will not even bother running the express entry program in the first place

Even those of us fleeing

Is it not because of the dilapidated mess that Nigeria has become (which btw is largely in part due to the illiterate; unexposed and barbaric way of most Nigerian )

I refuse to delude myself
It's clear for all to see.

Most of Africa and Africans conduct themselves no different from animals

That comment in bold is quite a stupid one to make. If you or the people around you conduct yourselves like animals, then I can understand, and you definitely have my sympathy, but sweeping generalizations backed with nothing more than emotions is a sign of unintelligence.

If I may ask, how many African countries have you visited? How many Africans, other than those from your country of origin, have you worked or interacted with?

I am actually in support of the PPC in some areas and would be more than pleased for them to take a 'bite off my bag' as you put it. Anything to stop the incumbents who appear to be more interested in virtue signaling, creating an atmosphere that is hostile to small business and entrepreneurship and their other policies that are divorced from economic and cultural realities in my opinion.

We'll see what happens comes Monday.

Interesting! I somewhat agree with you, save for the fact that Bernier and his crowd are highly against the mass immigration which has given tons of my brothers/sisters a shot at a better life.

I'm keenly following this election.

Only one major take-away from this video...

Most of these soldiers have resigned themselves to the hopelessness of the situation they are faced with, thanks to our military leaders. From recent happenings, it appears that their goal is to let Nigerians know the truth - SOLDIERS ARE DYING IN LARGE NUMBERS!!!

The government has successfully shut the press from reporting anything happening in the North-east, but with more disgruntled soldiers will come more leaked videos of THE TRUTH.

Alright, I see your point. But this doesn't support the point some make that the whole war is rigged for Profiteering.

This is what I am determined to see, not emotions

We need to speak the truth, brother, and quit the grandstanding.

There is only one reason why the war is still ongoing, and that is because the top military brass are cashing out! Simple! Do you think those soldiers that absconded with millions of naira were on such a trip for the first time? Naaaa...it must have been happening frequently for them to have grown some balls, come up with a plan and execute it flawlessly.

What is the purpose and efficacy of using light skin trucks in a 'hot zone' when even the lower house's members move around in armored vehicles in a peaceful Abuja? Why has there been no change of strategy? Of course, you and I know - those lives are dispensable! Should we talk about arms, kits or welfare? What about the real story behind the withdrawal of PMCs from South Africa? Pfft!

Brother, it is understandable if you work requires you to do some image laundering here, but please don't insult our intelligence.

This your story is somehow o. How can a VO rely on information he finds online which is not official. Did the VO invite the candidate for an interview to clarify things? I think there may be more to this story.

Chief, as absurd as it sounds, I have read of two cases of denial based on such scenarios. It wasn't hearsay, but a transcript from those Procedural Fairness judgements/court rulings.

In one of such cases, which was quite painful, the guy held a non-paying role in some company, which he claimed to be his friend's. Unfortunately, although he had met every other requirement, VO hammered him with a denial and 5 year ban for misrepresentation.

My advice is ensure there is consistency between the information one can gather from your online presence/footprint (do a basic Google search of your name and your LinkedIn profile too) and what you have on your application.
