Most Nigerian women don't even know what romantic means, at least as it applies to their boyfriends.

Most of them think being romantic means allowing their boyfriends to touch their precious parts or snap sexy pictures with him in public. No dear, romance means much more than that.

Being romantic involves doing something for your boyfriend that he does not expect and that will give him great joy. And no, half the time it's not even sex.

You overhear him complaining to someone that he does not have credit in his phone and without asking you send him n100 recharge card. That's being romantic.

You know he is coming to see you from a long distance and before he arrives you prepare his favourite meal, once again not because you asked it or because you are pretending to be a good wife, but just because you know it will surprise him and make him happy. That's being romantic.

While driving through Lagos traffic his car breaks down. Don't abandon him and enter bus. Even if he tells you it is OK to leave you insist on staying there and keeping him company while he fixes the car or gets it towed away. Sweat with him a little. That's being romantic.

These are just a few examples. It's a pity most youth think it's only guys that need to be romantic to win a girls's heart. Sometimes it is that special something you do for him that will make him follow you to the ends of the earth.
