@CapitalJune, explained better about 'Leverage' in general. But, in FTMO case, you should know about their differences in account types which lead to their differences in leverage. The 1:30 leverage account is for their swing account which allows you hold position over the weekend and you can trade during news without hold time. The 1:100 leverage account type comes with restriction on weekend holding and news restriction.
So, choose the one that best fits you as per your trading strategy, holding time and all

It is all about exposure to risk. Leverage 1:100 will require less margin (amount of money) to open a position but that means the capability to open multiple positions at once exposing you to greater risk. With 1:30, you will be required to deposit higher amount of money to open a position. This will make it very difficult to open multiple positions to reduce your risk of exposure to losses. Why do you think the U.S made leverage 1:50 compulsory for US brokers? It is to reduce risk of losses.

For example, you may have $100 in your account and still be able to open a position with leverage 1:100, but with leverage 1:30 the platform may tell you insufficient funds to execute a trade (just an illustration, not exact figures).

What type of trader are you? Each leverage has her own advantage. Are you an intraday trader or scalper? Or a swing trader?
1:100 is good for scalping and intraday but you expose your self to high leverage while 1:30 is designed for swing trader and reduce risk exposure because it allows you to hold for long.

I subscribe to a paid forex signals service but because of my work, I do not have the time to take all the trade signals when they come.

Woke up this morning with this mail on their hidden rules - props want your money for sure, and your loss is their gains.

There is the Max daily DD 5%, the Max Overall DD 10%, now email came in with Max DD per trade or combined 1% and a compulsory SL.

I personaly feel props are going down. If you already cashed out, best time to run.

Most times the difference between success and failure is just persistence. Na who give up Bleep up o. I was just like u as at march I was still blowing challenge acc. Until I told myself that enough is a enough. Had to go back to the drawing board and try to keep it as simple as possible. Btw March and August I didn't buy any challenge acc I was doing serious back testing and trading on demo and prop firm trial acc. Once I got the confidence and had to tell myself that to make it in this game one must eliminate greed and fear. If u don't have something doing and solely depending on fx to pay the bills it's almost impossible. Ur psychology will be so messed up and u will find urself forcing to take trades so u can pay bills which doesn't end well. I will advise u keep pushing and work on your strategy, backtest excessively u can Google traderscasa it's a free back testing site. Also try out prop firm demos like Funded next and ftmo they will help build ur confidence. Also look for something else to pay the bills for now, when forex starts paying you u sef no go expect am. I am on my 4th payout on Goat funded an 8k acc I bought for just roughly $24 my total payouts in just one month of being funded has eliminated all the loss from blown acc since I started trading sef. U have come too far to give up.

I have lost everything I have financially and run into deep debts since my introduction to forex.
At this point I have to give myself brain and quit.
I make a little profit in the market and end up parting away with x 5 of profit and capital.
My greed index is too much and as a Virgo am a perfectionist which I think is not a good quality for a good trader.
