Kelechi009: Hello ladies and gentleman, can we have an honest discussion.
I understand that you have the right to support anyone you wish, but are you genuinely happy with the outcome as an educated person. BE HONEST!
List of genuine questions I have:
1. Are there any educated men and women who are enjoying this Tinubu regime? 2. Are you guys happy with the price hike and inflation all over the country? 3. How are you guys coping with price of groceries greatly increased? 4. Business owners, how are you able to ensure Diesel and Fuel is purchased and available?
Just in one year:
1. The hasty removal of the petrol subsidy and naira devaluation have contributed to high inflation, reduced purchasing power, and job losses
2. Structural weaknesses like heavy import dependence and lack of domestic manufacturing capacity undermine the benefits of devaluation.
3. FX Dollar reform: This first move, along with FX reforms aimed at implementing a unified, transparent, and flexible exchange rate. But has this worked? The answer is a BIG NO. We keep struggling to get the Naira/Dollar rate to a reasonable point.
Naira is 1,500 Naira to a Dollar.
4. Economic Growth Naira has been the worst performing currency in the World today as per the latest Bloomberg report
Reference: bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-05-10/usd-ngn-naira-reverses-gains-as-outlook-dims-on-declining-dollar-inflows
5. Inflation remains at record high levels for Nigeria, reaching 31.7% in February 2024, However, the reforms are expected to gradually decrease inflation BUT it has failed woefully!.
WITH ALL THIS SUFFERING, DO YOU STILL WANT TO CONTINUE? Please just shut up. |

SaiOba: This issue is the more reason why we have insecurity in Nigeria.. The political will to deal decisively with the herders is what the APC political class lack. Every Nigerian has right to leave where he or she pleases. NO-one has any right whatsoever to trespass on another person's property or Land and if you must rear any form of bird, goat, cow or even fish farming.. Get a land, You can rent or buy a land, build a ranch. PERIOD!!! Do your biznez and make your money.. Most people from the SouthEast, go as far as to neighboring states to buy or rent lands that they will farm cassava for a season or two and even more.. This is been practiced by most individuals that are in Garri business. It is NOT hard..
It's just that the political class apply tribe and religion when making laws because they believe some certain tribe or region won't vote for them if they seek reelection.
For the sake of Almighty GOD.. Cows are definitely NOT the citizens of this great country. For Sure without the shadow of a doubt, we always knew that those disgruntled oblivious minded Obidients are not Nigerians. |

Ntigha: In a startling revealation, Investigative Journalist and writer, David Hundeyin, has stirred controversy, alleging that Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a CIA puppet and a drug kingpin currently being blackmailed by the U.S. State Department.
Hundeyin made these claims on his official X handle, sparking intense reactions across various platforms. Hundeyin's assertions came in response to comments made by Daniel Bwala, the former spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation, regarding not getting birthday wishes from Peter Obi, Labour party presidential candidate.Bwala stated on his X handle, "With all that this young man did for @PeterObi to the point of risking his life, the young man had his birthday few days ago and Pitobi who celebrates even the birds of the air, never wished him happy birthday until.
"Pitobi Obi is a textbook example of "use and dump personality". He has equally abandoned his "Yes Daddy's" after elections. When he will abandon his e-rodents, I will be here to remina them. Indaboski Pahose," he added.
In response to Bwala's remarks, Hundeyin addressed criticisms regarding birthday wishes from politicians, particularly mentioning Peter Obi. He emphasized that his actions were driven by personal conviction rather than political favors, and he questioned the significance of individual birthday acknowledgments from politicians. Hundeyin articulated, "Well, thanks for publicly admitting that your "president" and/or his people tried to kill me. Your honesty is appreciated. "Second, if you'd read my book, you'd know that whether Peter Obi personally acknowledged me or not did not concern my papa. I did everything I did because I thought it was the right thing to do, not because I wanted or expected anything trom a politician. In any case, is Peter Obi supposed to wish every one of his 10 million + voters happy birthday? Because he is unemployed or what? "Finally and most importantly, your "president" is a @CIA puppet and a well known drug kingpin from Chicago who is currently being blackmailed by the @StateDept to protect U.S. foreign policy even where that means directly destroying your own tuture. This lowlife criminal scum that a mob is supposed to be chasing with petrol, broken concrete blocks and Dunlop tyres, is who you are calling "president" and "GCFR". Focus on that and leave Peter Obi alone. You have bigger problems. My birthday is not a National issue he added This David Hundeyin na really big fool, useless cursed fugitive. |

Abel7777: Let no one call them names, they have raised the Progressive Bar remarkably high, perhaps the highest since the 2012 Ojota Fuel Hike protestation. Yours sincerely was heavily involved in that siege against Jonathan's Administration (in fact I addressed the rally in Ojota several times through the near two weeks of that popular action), a siege that was supported in cash and kind by the present watchman President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Against formidable attrition and debauchery, against the threat of jail and imprisonment, against a government that is squandamania oriented, and against a government sold to propaganda and gaslighting, they rose, they mobilized and shut down the nation with intent to call government to address the need for living wage, and they did so effectively, effectually and efficiently for 48 hours. I'm impressed and enamoured by the commitment of the NLC and the TUC to Take Back Our Country for good with the call for Living Wage as veritable weapon. Kudos.
Also impressive is the suspension of the Strike (Industrial Action) with a timeline. In 5 days time if the negotiation for Living Wage for Nigerian Workers remains a hard-call for government, the Civil Society, the Progressive left and the Nigerian Studentry must join forces with organized Labour to rescue the soul of our nation from the hoard of rampaging buccaneers feasting on our collective patrimony with reckless abandon.
In the one year of the present watch, the government has shown an uncanny predilection to wastage and wanderlust. See instances and questions that dominate the social media space and ask yourself why the government is slow about the need for a healthy minimum wage for the Nigerian worker whereas on all fronts it has shown an unbriddled penchant for profligacy. Reading further one would wonder why the present watch appears impervious to logic, they appear completely focussed on mendacious inveigle and perfidy, with soulless propaganda as chief BUT I'm glad for Trojans Ajaero and Osifo, and I'm thankful to providence that hurricane TUC and NLC is here. ©In as much as I believe the 1000% minimum wage increment that NLC is seeking is outrageous and untenable, the FG needs to answer some vital questions:
1. What are we doing with a bi-camera legislature? Why do we need the Senate and the House of Representatives?
2. What are we doing with a Presidential Yacht, and why do we need a Presidential fleet of 10 airplanes?
3. Why was there a 300% increment on the salaries of Federal Judges, and why did the FG need to buy new SUVs for Ministers, Senators and Members of HoR?
4. Where did the FG get over ₦80 billion to finance the needless foreign trips of the President and his Vice within a year?
5. Where did the FG get the ₦100 billion used to finance the Muslim pilgrimage in 2024?
Until the FG is able to provide answers to these pertinent questions, they have no right or moral justification not to increase the minimum wage by at least 200%. Credit: Femi Falana SAN.
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, we must therefore rise up and organize rather than agonize. We must close ranks and forge ahead with the NLC and TUC rather than break ranks. We must show to those who criticize and oppose our cause that the Hallmark of Patriotism is a critical mass, and proactive opposition. Once again I salute organized Labour for rising to be counted.

Politics › Re: Youth Coalition Plans Mass Protest To Demand INEC Chairman’s Sack by blacknp(m): 12:29pm On Jun 05, 2024 |
Orabi: The South Unity Youth Coalition, consisting of various youth groups from the South-South and South-East regions of Nigeria, has announced a mass protest on June 12, Democracy Day, to demand the removal of Professor Mahmoud Yakubu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The coalition believes that Professor Yakubu's leadership has severely compromised the credibility of Nigeria's electoral process and attributes numerous instances of electoral misconduct, voter intimidation, and result manipulation to his tenure, raising serious concerns among the Nigerian youth about the integrity of elections in the country.
A statement released by the Coordinator of the Coalition, Silas Maduke Clarkson, emphasized that these protests are crucial for safeguarding Nigeria’s democratic principles saying, "It would be a national disgrace for Nigeria to commemorate Democracy Day while tolerating an electoral body that has become synonymous with incompetence and lack of credibility."
Clarkson further emphasized the necessity of the protests as a response to the glaring electoral misconduct and ineptitude displayed by INEC under Professor Yakubu’s leadership. He stated, "The coalition strongly believes that INEC's reputation as the worst election agency in the country threatens Nigeria's democracy and must be addressed urgently."
The coalition's statement also condemned the unacceptable practice of ignoring blatant disregard for electoral integrity by the institution responsible for ensuring free and fair elections.
“The coalition is therefore committed to holding INEC accountable and demands the immediate removal of Professor Yakubu to restore public trust and confidence in the electoral process.
“We call on all Nigerians who are concerned about the future of democracy in the country to join us in this mass protest on June 12 at the Unity Fountain, Abuja to be preceded by a world press conference on June 11th at Agura Hotel. It is imperative that the voices of the people are heard and that those in positions of power are held accountable for their actions.
“We also call on all concerned citizens, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to join them in their quest for electoral reform and the removal of Professor Yakubu from his position. It is a call to action for all Nigerians who are tired of the status quo and who want to see a change in the way elections are conducted in the country.
“The INEC's failures under Professor Yakubu's tenure have sparked outrage among Nigerian youth, who view free and fair elections as a cornerstone of democracy. The call for his removal is driven by a genuine desire for transparent and accountable electoral practices. We believe that a leadership change at INEC is necessary to restore public trust in the electoral system and ensure that the will of the people is accurately reflected in election outcomes.
“The mass protest is a bold and necessary step toward demanding accountability and transparency in Nigeria's electoral system. It serves as a reminder to all Nigerians that our democracy is a precious gift that must be protected and nurtured by all citizens. The time has come for us to unite and demand the removal of those who do not uphold the principles of democracy and fair elections. Let us stand together on June 12 and make our voices heard for the sake of a better Nigeria.” I knew it must be some disgruntled ndigbo Obidients promoting this nonsense. |

malali: As of 2023, the estimated number of homeless people in the United States is approximately 653,100. This represents a significant increase of about 12% from the previous year, marking the highest number since such data collection began in 2007. This figure includes both sheltered and unsheltered individuals, with 60% of them staying in shelters and the remaining 40% living in places not meant for human habitation (USAFacts) (National Low Income Housing Coalition).
This increase in homelessness can be attributed to several factors, including the expiration of pandemic-era protections and resources, the ongoing affordable housing crisis, and changes in the rental housing market. The data indicates that homelessness affects a diverse range of populations, with notable increases among families, veterans, and people identifying as Black, Hispanic, or Latino (USAFacts) (National Low Income Housing Coalition).
For more detailed information, you can refer to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the National Low Income Housing Coalition.

Politics › Re: One Year Later, What Value Has Tinubu Added To Our Lives? – 1 by blacknp(m): 12:11pm On Jun 05, 2024 |
CAkpos: It made a lot of sense that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu chose to mark, not celebrate, his first year in office. Celebration would have been termed insensitive by many, and the president would have been charged for profligacy and extravagance. Which serious or sane leader celebrates when the people he leads are in great and excruciating pains?
Truth be told, the suffering in the land beggars belief. In that, I am one with the critics of the president. But we part ways when they say one year is enough – or even more then enough – for Tinubu to have cleansed the country’s Augean stable.
The rains started beating the country a long time ago; unfortunately, we seemed not to have taken notice until it began to pour, if I must quote “Ogbuefi” Godwin Nzeakah (where are you?), my colleague on The PUNCH newspaper’s Editorial Board. Godwin was fond of saying it doesn’t just rain for him but that it pours!
Nigerians did not take notice of – or they ignored – the incremental damage done to the country right from Independence in 1960, through the time of the first military coup in January 1966, to the wasteful years of Yakubu Gowon, who was credited with saying that Nigeria’s problem was not money but how to spend it. Oil money that should have been invested in agriculture and industrialization, thus, was wasted.
Military ruler after military ruler continued where Gowon stopped, with the gap-toothed one, IBB, acclaimed for institutionalizing corruption and the “settlement” syndrome as well as destroying esprit de corps and discipline in the military. Since 1999, mention a Nigerian leader whose administration did not add heaps of rot on the country’s Augean stable?
Pardon me, I am not one of those who expect a miracle or magic from President Tinubu. I know it is easier to destroy than to repair or rebuild. So, I expect that more than one year is needed before we begin to see appreciable results. But my worry is whether or not the president is headed in the right direction; whether or not he is pursuing the right policies; and whether or not he is clear-headed and deeply-foresighted as to where he is taking us.
Are we heading farther into the dark tunnel? Are we sinking deeper in the miry clay? Is the president leaving the substance and chasing shadows? Unfortunately, two decisions of his which coincided with his first year anniversary got me deeply worried. The first was his decision to drag the 36 state governors to court over so-called autonomy for local governments.
Full info is in the link https://thenews-chronicle.com/one-year-later-what-value-has-tinubu-added-to-our-lives-1 If you like Akpos, don’t go and find a way to add value, & prosper your life, be waiting for President Tinubu in Abuja like those Ganduje’s Almijiris sniffing glue under flyover bridges in Kano City, also waiting for the President. |
