The Act repeals six (6) laws – the Associated Gas Reinjection Act 1979, the Hydrocarbon Oil Refineries Act, Motors Spirit Returns Act, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (Projects) Act, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Act, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (Establishment) Act. aka “Petrol Subsidy”.

Ignorance is never an excuse in law, the provisions of The Petroleum Industry Act enacted August 2021 was calculated to take effect 1st June 2023, a month after President Buhari had left power.
