the exchange rate is saying it. Care to explain
Brother, exchange rate isn't the same thing as currency strength. It only shows how many units you get. You can receive thousands of VND for a few naira because the Vietnamese dong has a much smaller denomination. What really matters is what that money can actually buy in each country, not the number of zeros you receive after exchanging grin

It looks like a very beautiful city, but could you please talk about their attitude to foreigners?

Are they nice/hostile when they see black people?
They love black people so much they are curious about blacks. You automatically become a celebrity here. Most people want to take photo with you and also have a conversation with you.

1. A clear view of the highway taken from the metro bridge. One thing I like here is how organized and open most of the roads look.

2. Cakes and water I bought — total cost was around ₫97,000 (about ₦5,100). Prices may not look cheap at first because of all the zeros, but when converted, it’s not as expensive as it seems.

3. Inside the city bus. Public transportation here is very affordable — a bus ride costs only ₫6,000 per trip (about ₦315). Good option if you’re trying to move around the city on a budget.

4. Receipt of a meal I had at a Japanese restaurant. Total came to ₦29,000. One thing I’ve noticed in Vietnam is that you can still find decent meals without spending too much.

1. When it rains in Vietnam, there is usually traffic jam — but not the kind where everything stops. Traffic keeps moving. Almost everyone carries a raincoat on their bike because the rain can come unexpectedly, especially during the rainy season. One thing I find amazing though is that most times the rain doesn’t last very long lol.

2. One of the dishes I love so much here is called bánh mì xíu mại — basically bread served with eggs and meatballs. Simple combo but very tasty.

3. Football stadium in Vietnam. If you love playing football, this is the place to be because people here love football so much — both young and old. You can easily find a team to play with. The downside though is that most football fields are privately owned, so you usually have to pay to play.

4. A random movie theatre inside a mall. There are so many malls around the city, so if you enjoy going to the cinema, Vietnam has plenty of options. You can book online, come to the mall, and enjoy your movie. They also sell snacks and drinks to keep you refreshed throughout the movie lol.

Good day everyone,

I decided to open this thread to share life in Vietnam and show what everyday life here actually looks like.

A lot of people hear about Vietnam but don’t really know much about the country beyond random videos online, so I thought it would be interesting to document things from my own perspective.

In this thread, I’ll be posting things like:

• Roads and infrastructure
• Food and supermarket prices
• Street life and daily activities
• Houses and apartments
• Transportation
• Local culture and lifestyle
• Beautiful places and random photos
• Cost of living compared with Nigeria
• Education and opportunities
• Things I find surprising or interesting

I’ll also answer questions where I can.

From time to time, I’ll drop photos and small updates.

If there’s anything specific you want to see (markets, restaurants, schools, neighborhoods, transport, etc.), mention it and I’ll try to post it.

Welcome to Vietnam 🇻🇳
