Amid the crisis rocking the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Delta State, the embattled Chairman of the party in the state, Hon. Afamefune Enemokwu, has accused his deputy, Mr Emmanuel Ibordo, of trying to destabilise the party. He also alleged that some persons causing confusion in Labour Party were the ones causing confusion in APGA.
Afamefune, who spoke in an interview, described the alleged crisis rocking the party as non-existent, saying the whole thing was the machination of some persons now on the run, following a manhunt for them by the police for allegedly falsifying documents to destroy the party. Ibordor, in a swift reaction, dared Afamefune to substantiate the allegation that he was trying to destabilize the party. He advised the Chairman to, rather than pointing accusing finger, be concerned about how to respond to the financial mismanagement allegations levelled against him by the party , adding: “ He (Afamefune) has been requested by the national body of the party to give account of his stewardship as that is the cause of the problem. “ Mr. Afamefune Enemokwu is economical with the truth on the financial and unethical allegations that led to his suspension. For the records, nobody is sponsoring anyone. I dare him, let him prove the allegation that a sitting senator is sponsoring a leader. “ Nobody is on the run as claimed by Afamefune. In fact, the APGA national body is already intervening. In no distant date, the truth will suffice.”

39million – Liverpool agreed a fee, including add-ons, in the region of 39million euros to sign Salah from Roma last year. The exchange rate at the time meant that cost the Reds £34.3million – a bargain given his performances since.

13 – The 25-year-old was not a complete stranger to the Premier League when he arrived at Liverpool this summer. However, during his previous stint at Chelsea, he made just 13 Premier League appearances, seven of which were off the bench, and scored only twice.

8 – As well as his fine form in England, Salah has also scored eight times in the tournament phase of this season’s Champions League. Only Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, with 15 to his credit, has found the net more often in the group stages and knockout rounds of Europe’s premier club competition.

Man City vs Swansea : Pep Guardiola’s hope that his team’s hunger to rewrite the English football record books would see them maintain their championship-winning form proved well-founded as Manchester City swept aside Swansea City 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.



The only negative aspect of the occasion for the newly-crowned Premier League champions was a post-match pitch invasion by several hundred City supporters, who ignored pleas over the loudspeakers to burst through stewards and onto the field.

While this third season of the reality show tagged “Double Wahala” has been punctuated with breakups, makeups and a dirty fight that led to the disqualification of two housemates, the show equally has lived up to its billing as the most watched show across the continent.

Arsène Wenger’s hopes of ending his Arsenal career with his hands on the Europa League trophy in Lyon, France almost suffered a setback when it reportedly went missing in León, Mexico.



Authorities in the central state of Guanajuato state claimed on Twitter that the trophy had been stolen in the city of León, but was recovered soon afterwards. The silverware was taken from a vehicle after an event in the city.

The state prosecutor’s office also tweeted a picture of the trophy in a cloth-lined case to confirm that it had been recovered by police but did not immediately provide more details. Uefa’s official website claims that the trophy “remains in Uefa’s keeping at all times,” with clubs receiving a replica – but initial reports, and the frantic search to recover it, suggest it was the original that went missing.

Barcelona still have two trophies in their sights. Despite the disappointment of their Champions League elimination at the hands of Roma last week, the Catalans could end the season by winning La Liga and also the Copa del Rey.

Ernesto Valverde’s side remain unbeaten in the Primera Division and are on the verge of claiming the title after second-placed Atletico lost at Real Sociedad on Wednesday night.

With five fixtures left, Barca lead by 12 points, meaning they could be crowned champions next weekend by beating Deportivo La Coruna in Galicia, with a Clasico clash at home to Real Madrid to come in early May.

Before that, however, the Blaugrana can claim the Copa del Rey for the fourth season in a row by beating Sevilla at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid on Saturday night.

And even though their European campaign ended in disappointment with a 3-0 loss away to Roma which saw the Catalans crash out of the Champions League on away goals after a 4-1 win at home, two trophies would still represent a successful season after all the turbulence in the summer.

Barca were seemingly in crisis when Neymar left, while a move for midfielder Marco Verratti failed to materialise and another top target, Philippe Coutinho, also eluded them. Meanwhile, many fans were unhappy with the signing of Paulinho and there were doubts about Valverde at the top level.

But after a 5-1 aggregate loss to Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa, Valverde got to work and built a strong side which, against all odds back in August, is on target for two trophies.

Nigeria’s total domestic and foreign debt stocks as at June 30 stood at about $15.1 billion and N14.1 trillion respectively, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

A review of the total foreign debt profile of the Federal and the 36 states governments and the FCT also shows a continuous rise since the coming of the present administration, from $10.718 billion in 2015, to $11.406 billion in 2016 and $15.047 billion in 2017.

Out of the current total figure of $15.047 billion, the Federal Government accounts for $11.106 billion, or about 74 per cent, while the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja owe about $3.94 billion, or 26 per cent.

The Federal and State government shares of the debt stock grew from $7.349 billion and $3.369 billion in 2015, to $7.84 billion and $3.568 billion in 2016, and $3.94 billion and $11.106 billion in 2017 respectively.

The NBS gave further disaggregation of the country’s foreign debt to include $9.67billion as multilateral debt; $218.25million as bilateral (AFD) and $5.15billion from the Exim Bank of China credit to the Federal Government.

ANDRES INIESTA is set to complete a move to China in the summer, with two million bottles of wine a key part of the deal, according to reports in Spain.



The barcelona icon, 33, is expected to make an official announcement over his future after this weekend’s Copa del Rey final.



For some time, the choice has been between staying with the club he’s been at for his entire career, or opting for a move to the Far East.

And marca report he has decided to join an unnamed chinese super league club — after promises he would sell around two million bottles of wine there.

Bodega Iniesta started in 2010, and sells wines from the tiny region of Fuentealbilla, which is where the Spain legend was born, with Corazon Loco his most famous label.
