rentAcock: A simple visit to the doctor would've identified this man's problem. This is a clinical manifestation of Priapism, a condition whereby the pen.is (nairaland stop changing pen.is to joystick, this ain't no video game) remains erect for several hours. This is usually caused by an overdose of viagra, cialis or other erectile dysfunction medication, however this man was most likely born with this defect or something in his diet may be a cause. Whatever the cause, there's a solution, a doctor can prescribe medications to decrease the erection, but instead the woman chose divorce. I suspect this woman is cheating with someone else, a case of prolonged erection is a problem most women would like to have. i doubt if that were priapism, he dnt say it was painful and d erection was not induced? |

Health › Significance Of Mental Health by Bleeze2(op): 1:39pm On Oct 30, 2017 |
According to WHO, health is a state of complete physical, social and mental well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Out of the components listed above, it seems the only one we are concerned about (especially this part of the world) is the physical well-being , but I will like to discuss the mental component of health from my little knowledge about it. Mental health is not considered as a medical problem in this part of the world because we see it as the work of evil people around us. When talking of mental health, the symp6can either be psychotic or neurotic, I will like to talk a little bit about psychosis because it is the one that gives people concern most. Psychosis is a mental disorder in which there is severe loss of contact with relity which can be in the form of delusions, hallucinations et.c. Delusion is a type of psychosis in which a person holds a believe so dear to himself such that no argument or evidence can make a person lose such belief, and such belief is not expected of the person's cultural, religious or educational background. It can come in many forms like: Delusion of love, in which a person mostly a female so much belief that she is in love with a person of a higher social status which in the real sense is not true Delusion of grandiose in which a person believes he is such a big person in the society or a great religious figure which is not true Delusion of control in which someone believes he receives command to do what he is doingor he has done and cannot control himself t that time Delusion of persecution in which a man believes everybody around him wants to hurt him in some ways Shared delusion in which the delusion someone believes can also be believed by someone they stay together not because he has psychosis but just because they stay together; these are examples of delusions which can be seen in people with schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorders et.c. It was even said the homicide Reverend Jim Jones committed was successful because of the shared delusion of his members. Hallucination is perceiving stimulus in any of the 5 senses when in the actual fact there is no stimulus. The commonest being auditory hallucination, when u hear an unseen voice telling you to do something, like wandering out of the house as seen in some schizophrenic individuals on the street, we call them mad men .This may even be what some people have but having but instead of going to seek medical care they go into ministries God as not called them into and wreck havoc. Not having good sleep, in the case of insomnia can also cause these conditions. Cases like insomnia without any clear cause, premature ejaculation, some form of enuresis (bed wetting), lost of interest in pleasurable things, significant withdrawal to self in a person who used to be very cheerful before, all these any many more are good reasons to consult a psychiatrist. Consulting one does not mean u have one but can prevent you from having one, at this point you are a client and not a patient. With this little piece of mine I hope, I have been able to convince you and not confuse you, that our mental health is as important as our physical health. (Don't mind my use of English and writing, I am an amateur). Thank you. |
