He was left a defeated man, a man robbed of his only happiness. "That wedding would never hold", he had thought, "I won't ever witness it" . But then it did hold. And as Raymond stood among the crowd, watching 'his' Bright approach the aisle with John, he couldn't hold back the tears, he couldn't do anything about the burning in his heart, he couldn't swallow his spittle 'cause he felt this soreness in his throat. He wished it were him. But it wasn't. He was a defeated man. Bright is gone, everything seemed so gloomy and dark without her. His eyes caught hers, he could have sworn he saw love and longing in her eyes. He sent a message which read "Don't do this! " to her. But this was months too late for Ray. He retreated and went home, with only a thing on his mind. He locked his doors, got a twine, tied it to the fan, knotted it around his neck and was about kicking the stool he stood on away when his cell phone beeped in his pocket. He glanced at his screen and Bright's message read, "I wish it was you. I wish you had kissed me all the times I wanted you to. I wish I had to spend my whole life with you. But you never gave me hope. Sorry baby, I'm doing this. I loved you, but you never talked". Ray couldn't hold back his tears. His mind flashed back to her first words to him(Don't you ever talk?) as he kicked the stool he stood on away. He struggled to stop thinking about her as he took his last breath but all he could see and think of was Bright. His heart stopped beating His body swung slowly. His head bowed in defeat. Yes, he never talked, never would talk, not anymore! Kesley_UMOH |
LOVE DENIED(A Tragic Love Story). "Don't you ever talk?", Bright had asked Raymond, "You should unwind a little friend" . Those were her first words to him,the very first day someone seemed to notice Ray; or at least want to say 'Hello' all the months he'd worshiped in his new Church. "Urmmm, I was just...ermmm", Raymond stuttered. "The name's Bright, I'm just three Sundays old here", she'd said wearing a charming smile. "Call me Ray, I'm only months old here, I really need to go now", he responded shyly and left. Raymond wondered who she was as he walked away. He felt this warmth in his heart, something he hadn't felt for a long time. He liked her from that first conversation he realized, or what else could explain his stuttering that much? Hours seemed longer than days;and days longer than weeks, but Sunday finally came and Raymond had nothing else on his mind except getting to see and know Bright better. "Bright", that was the name she told him, the name whose very sound had brightened his whole life since that hot Sunday afternoon they had their first conversation. Service lasted just three hours but Raymond could have sworn it was six, he never missed a chance to glance at her, occasionally catching her eyes with Bright always wearing that same charming smile that struck him a week ago. Finally service was over and it didn't take Raymond more than a minute to be by her side. They'd exchanged phone numbers and learnt a thing or two about each other. That was how Bright became a part of Raymond's life. That was the beginning of spending forever on the phone just reassure himself he still had her around. That was the beginning of getting into each others minds and hearts. That was the beginning! The beginning of wanting more than friendship, the beginning of love denied a chance to grow. Days passed so did weeks and months, it was only a matter of time before Raymond and Bright became inseparable. Raymond had fallen in love with her long ago but he was still waiting for the right moment. He knew everything about her and so did she about him. They were clearly best of friends. Every weekend she came around, his clothes could be found on her body, he often made her breakfast even though he more times than not screwed it up. Bright was sure to eat like it was the best thing she'd tasted, even though the pepper almost peeled her tongue off. She loved him too well to mind. Love! She really did love him although he never seemed to notice. She really wanted to be his forever...his lover, his bride, his woman. She really did love him. He was her one bright ray of joy and happiness and love all in one. She wondered if he felt this way. That was four years ago, and for four years she'd still loved him hoping he would open up. Four years of being denied his love. Four years of lacking that sense of completeness love seemed to offer. Having just clocked 26,Bright had to see other guys since it seemed her one desire Raymond wouldn't work out. That was how she met John. It didn't take long before John showed they were heading somewhere. Ray knew about John but felt he wasn't a threat. Three months of his friendship with Bright can't overshadow his years of friendship with her he reasoned;but it did. It took just three months, just three months for John to ask the 'big question', just three months for Bright to say "Yes" to John. It didn't take long before a wedding was fixed. Meanwhile, Raymond had stopped being himself. He was mad at all and everything and person. His madness led to depression, his depression to alcoholism. He was left a defeated man, a man robbed of his only happiness. "That wedding would never hold", he had thought, "I won't ever witness it" . But then it did hold. This goes out to all em bastard souls who think getting back at a lady who left his sorry ass to fend for itself is by destroying HER name. SHE IS A SLUT!!! Mary is a slut!", you say. I can swear she is. What girl sleeps with her boyfriend's friend if not a slut? I heard she slept with my friend Mike. What a slut! I hope she contracts some STI and dies. Yes, that's what sluts deserve. I'm glad I didn't get infected. Thank God she left me. But... You still haven't told us something, you still haven't told us Mary was actually "Virgin Mary" until you thrust into her vagina, disvirgining her. You still haven't told us something, that you taught Mary how to cook lies for her parents just to spend sex-filled nights with you. You still haven't told us something, that you got tired of Mary and stopped giving her your full attention yet wouldn't let her go. You still haven't told us something, you still haven't told us you banged Mary's bestfriend and cousin, and that her sister is your next target. You still haven't told us something. Meanwhile... Mary only became a slut like you say the moment she realized she deserved better. Mary had tried to cope with your indifferent attitude towards her you see,and the fact you only called her for thirty seconds every three days, all you could say being," Please come to my house, I miss you badly"...only to drop the call saying to yourself, '' Bring me that pussy fast fast". Mary is a slut, a slut because she couldn't take your lack of attention anymore and had to walk away while still loving you secretly. She's a slut! But... You fail to realize this slut loved you. And that she still wished you had changed. You fail to realize this 'slut' had looked back at you when she said that final "Goodbye", hoping you'd turn her around, hold her tight, kiss her, and reassure her all would be fine. You fail to realize Mary is only qualified to be called a slut because she accepted your crazy one-night stands at the expense of helping her parents at home. You fail to realize Mary truly really loved you. You fail to realize Mary was only try'na respect her womanhood. But you didn't, and so your 'slut' left. The reality... Mary is not a slut! Mary had gotten tired of your constant sex demands but wouldn't complain, because she cares about your happiness. But you didn't care about hers and so she left. You could have had her back but your ego wouldn't allow you apologize. Truth is Mike has been doing all you couldn't do for Mary. Mary has slept with Mike only apart from you. It hurts you that Mary is gone and now Mike's. And that makes Mary a slut, your ideal definition of a slut. Truth be told... You're the slut here! You've slept with Mary's friends and relatives and screwing her relatives is a fantacy you hold dearly. You sleep every night looking up nude pictures and porn. You do not discriminate when it comes to sex, "Toto na toto" ,you say. Truth is you introduced Mary into sex and sleeping outside. So if Mary is a slut because she left you to sought out your sexual desires, because she couldn't take your physical and mental abuse on her womanhood, then you are a slut too, a slut with a PhD!.. Nairaland definitely change some spellings. |
