I get your point but you are not getting mine. You know the mistake aregbe made was that he merged a Muslim school with a Christian school. In doing so he should have seen this coming. Or better still he should have changed the name from st Mary or st Theresa. Or he should have talked to the authorities and allow the Muslim girls to use berets or scarf. But the ansaru deen that was merged with that school also have Christian students before. If a Muslim school can comfortably accommodate Christian students without any Muslim body complaining about it in the past. Why is CAN now over stressing the matter. Do you know it's easier to christianize than islamize. Even someone born a Muslim feels reluctant to pray. Make we no come talk of convert.

I hope you also get my point.
I believe we can finally agree that berets should be used as a stand a standard of dressing for female students, whether muslim, Christian, or pagan.

Also, names of schools should be changed to neutral name that bear no religious meaning

You aren't making any sense. 20 years ago, how many churches do you see around in Nigeria? How many can you find in one Street at the moment? By your logic, Nigeria will soon become a christian country.

Don't let religion cloud your reasoning
You seem not to know how to comprehend properly.
Go through my reply to that guy again.

Is any Christian denomination pushing for recognition and special treatment simply because they are members of the denomination??

Do you see salvation army taking governments to court to allow them wear their uniforms everywhere? Or do you see white garment members going to court to allow their members not wear shoes or wear white cloth everywhere?

So why then must a SECULAR government bow to the demands of a religious sect??

If you still can't think properly after reading this, then you should try and get help anywhere you can

MR man, how do you know I'm "unlearned"?? you must be a very shallow thinker.
Every country has laws guiding it. (constitution)
In some Islamic countries like the UAE, everybody worships on FRIDAYS. Sunday is a regular working day.
those places are dominated by Islam.
Now, can I go about singing Christian songs or sharing Christian materials or walk about carrying bibles in places like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Iran without fear of being harassed by Muslims ??

You are the one to think with your head
Heed your own advice

ollah1:
The way some of your guys scream Islamization this, islamazation that. You sound like an unlearned person. How can that be possible in this day and age? Why aren't the Muslims demanding for Friday to be stripped off as a working day like it is on Sundays?
Why aren't the Muslims demanding for Muslims songs to be consistently sang in public schools like the way Christian songs are sang?

You should think with the the head you've got up there and not the other way round

[s]so ur point is that wearing hijab to schools by muslim female students is a process of islamizing the country, if that's ur point then that's not how to start going about it, u start by demolishing all the mosques in SE/SS and impeach all muslim officers in the country including the president and un-hijabing all those muslim women in public places. That's a more effective approach to unislamizing the country.[/s]
You obviously love making assumptions for others.
Did you see it anywhere in my post that I asked for unislamizing the countryhuh?

Nigeria is already being slowly islamised. Covert policies and even more open ones have existed in times past to make Islam more revelant, recognised and respected in the society.

This Osun case is just one of the new ways being used.
The sooner people know, they soon people can act to stop it.
If stopping islamization is your own definition of "unislamizing", then undecided lipsrsealed

Instead of CAN contesting against the use of hijab or causing more trouble. They should have find a way to present their case and make the Muslim girls wear beret. Muslims wearing hijab doesn't stop them from wearing uniforms na. They wear it on their uniform. We are not talking of long hijab here. It's the short one that'll cover their head and their neck.

I'm still waiting for that century when UK and USA will become an Islamic country like you claim. Who get time for islamization.

Seriously i laugh when I see people saying things like islamization. Do you know how many million Christians we have in this country? And since the students started wearing their church robe. Did the governor or anyone contest their decision.
You seem to be saying something I can reason with finally.

The case should be that they (all the students) should wear the same thing!!! Not that a particular set of students will add to what has been declared as standard for those schools.

The government of Osun is secular, all its rules should be secular also.
If this hijab case is allowed to stay, it's only a matter of time before Muslims start demanding that their boys in SSS classes don't shave their beards or start wearing trousers that won't reach their ankles. You can call me anything you think, it doesn't change anything.

You also said you're waiting for the time that UK and USA will become Islamic states. Well, it might not happen during our lifetimes, (hey, you could live tíll a 100 years or less) however, the seeds of the intention has been sown already. 15 years ago, there were very few mosques in western Europe. That's not the case today. What will those places look like 200years from now??. What sort of society will it be? Societies are dynamic. Laws, rules and policies are made based on the people in that society.

I also laugh when I see people who think islamisation isn't real or happening. It's not about just one individual, it's a aim shared by a large group of people. Now imagine a society that has 98% Muslim population. Of course things like this Osun case can't even come up because of the society. What makes you think a society that started out secularly, such as the USA, can't become Islamic societies where everyone has to conform or support it?? Think about the future Bro.

If this case is allowed to pass, it will spread to other schools and on it goes.

I hope you see the point I'm trying to make

Muslims didn't start wearing hijab to school this year. In lagos you'll see muslim students wear hijab on their uniform. Both private schools and public schools. It's not a new thing so I'm surprised why it's causing this much problem now. Even in the USA and UK you'll see muslim students wearing hijab to school. This has been happening since like forever.

You have to really understand what's going on in osun before you say something about it. The judge didn't force Christians to wear hijab. He said any muslim student that wishes to wear 1 is free to wear 1. So why is CAN taking that personal. A Muslim will wear her hijab everywhere. Can you wear your choir robe every where? We have to be fair in talking about this issue. Muslim wearing hijabs in osun state does not pose any threat to Christians na. This is not Maiduguri where they put bomb under hijabs. Why did they ban the Muslims in osun for using hijab in the first place.

I wonder when allowing little girls to wear hijab turn to islamization. What's there to islamize in osun self.

Please of you must reply my comment. Do it in a matured way. Don't call me any useless name and don't break NL laws.
What makes you think I don't understand what is going on in Osun?? And what makes you think I wear church robes in the first place??.

Well, like I said earlier, little drops of water make a mighty ocean. In case you don't know, I was referring to islamization of the society, not just mere individuals. The places you mentioned, UK and USA, will soon become Islamic countries. That's d subtle islamization I referred to. Slowly and slowly, they will try and tailor the societies they find themselves to the dictates of their religion. Schools affected by the ruling are owned by the government(which is secular) . Before now, I know school girls wear berets and no one has ever complained about. In a private school, all of them wear the same thing as they are stricter.
The goal of wearing a school uniform is to let the students look all the same, presenting the students as young people who are willing and ready to learn.

Now, in a situation whereby some students feel it's their right to wear what they want to school, that defeats the aim of the school uniform (that's why it's a uniform, for them to be the same).
Allowing them to get away freely with this will make it easier for them to get away with virtually anything else they might come up with in the future.

Most sensible comment here so far.

How ever, I'm tempted to agree with paulsir.

What is going on in Osun state is stealth islamisation. It's very subtle and slow rather than quick method of invading a place and forcing people to accept Islam.

In a matter of years, you'll see Muslims demanding more of "rights" according to the dictates of their religion. If their initial attempts, such as this recent case are not resisted now, then there is no hope in the years to come. Little drops make a mighty ocean.
