I’m Goodness from Port Harcourt, and I want to share my true life story. I hope it saves other Nigerians from falling into the same trap that almost took my ₦150,000 in April 12th 2026.

My name is Goodness. I’m 26 years old and I live in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Like many young Nigerians, I’ve been looking for a remote job to support myself. I write articles for Opera News Hub and earn small-small, but I wanted something more stable.

On April 12th, 2026, I got a WhatsApp message from an unknown number. The profile picture was a woman in a suit with “HR Manager” written on it. The message said:

“Good day Goodness, I’m HR Grace from Prime Global Services. We saw your profile on Jobberman. We have a remote data entry position. Monthly pay: ₦150,000. Are you interested?”

My heart jumped. ₦150,000 is 5 months of my Opera earnings. I replied “Yes, I’m very interested please.”

“Grace” said the job was easy. I just needed to type product descriptions from 9am to 2pm daily. But first, I had to register on their “company portal.” She sent me a link: `primeglobal-ng.com/register`. The website looked real. It had a CAC logo, pictures of people in an office, and even testimonials.

After I filled the form, she said: “Congratulations! You’ve been selected. To activate your staff account and receive your work laptop, pay ₦15,000 for registration and logistics. Once you pay, we’ll credit your account with ₦150,000 advance salary and send your laptop via GIG Logistics.”

That was my first red flag. Why would I pay to get a job? But I was desperate. My Gionee phone is old and I thought a laptop would change my life. I told her I didn’t have ₦15,000. She said, “No problem. Pay ₦5,000 first to secure your slot. You can balance ₦10,000 after your first salary.”

I borrowed ₦5,000 from my sister and sent it to an Opay account: Immediately, the website showed “Account Activated” and a fake dashboard with ₦150,000 balance. I was shaking. I thought I was rich.

Then “Grace” said: “To withdraw your ₦150,000 salary, you need to upgrade to VIP Staff. Pay ₦25,000 upgrade fee. It’s refundable with your first salary.”

My brain finally cleared. This was a scam. Real companies don’t ask you to pay to withdraw salary. I told her I didn’t have money. She started begging, then threatening. “If you don’t pay, we’ll report you to EFCC for breach of contract.” I blocked the number.

I checked CAC website that night. “Prime Global Services” was not registered. The website `primeglobal-ng.com` was created 2 weeks ago. I almost lost ₦150,000 because I was desperate and didn’t verify.

I lost ₦5,000. That’s my 2 weeks of food money. But I’m grateful I didn’t borrow ₦25,000 like she wanted. I cried that night, but now I’m speaking out.

This is how the scam works:
1. They message you on WhatsApp with a fake job offer
2. They use real company names or fake CAC logos
3. They ask for “registration fee” or “laptop fee”
4. They show fake balance to trick you into paying more

Please, Nigerians, NEVER pay money to get a job. Real jobs pay YOU. Check CAC.gov.ng for any company. If they pressure you to pay fast, it’s fraud.

I hope this saves one person.
