Politics / Boko Haram War: Security Alert As Intelligence Reports Plan To Attack Bauchi by blessingjude: 5:09pm On Jan 19, 2016
Security agencies are on alert following intelligence reports of a possible influx and attack by Boko Haram insurgents on Bauchi state.

The frustrated and dismembered insurgents are said to be planning to enter and strike the northern state, having been pushed from their base in Sambisa forest by a renewed military onslaught.

This information was disclosed during a two-day workshop on the Roles of Private Guards in Curbing Insurgency in Bauchi State organised by the state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in collaboration with the state government.

According to intelligence findings, the insurgents plan to infiltrate the state disguised as fruits sellers, hence the workshop’s objective on sensitizing the Private Guards on tell tale signs.

In his welcome address, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Donatus Ikemefuna, said all hands must be on deck to ward off the security challenge of the insurgency.

Ikemefuna said: “As the nation is at the verge of routing out the insurgents in the northeast, no stone must be left unturned to make sure ugly developments do not resurface.

“Our resolve to work together particularly in the areas of operations and intelligence sharing will continue to form impenetrable walls against [these]vices.

“Nigerians must support the government at this critical period by cooperating with the security agencies in maintaining law and order.”

The Commandant commended the state government for partnering with the NSCDC to train the Private Guards, saying it was a wise decision considering the tourism potential of Bauchi.

“On our part, officers and men of this Corps will continue to be partners in progress with the government at all levels to ensure citizens and residents of Nigeria as well as property are well protected.

“We are determined more than ever before to carry all the stakeholders along in this onerous task of having a safer Nigeria.”

In his remarks, the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, who was represented by Alhaji Hashimu Abubakar, said that security was the top priority of the Mohammed Abubakar administration.

The SSG who called for the support of all citizens in addressing the problem of the insurgency, saying that security was a collective responsibility of everyone and not the security agencies alone.

He said that the administration recognised the importance of Private Guards in addressing the problem of the insurgency facing the northeast and assured that the state government would continue to partner with the NSCDC in order to support the Private Guards to be more effective.

Politics / Buhari Will Never Congratulate Dickson – Lai Mohammed by blessingjude: 6:51pm On Jan 18, 2016
If Seriake Dickson the Governor of Bayelsa State is expecting a congratulatory message from President Muhammadu Buhari over his recent re-election for a second term of office, he had better forget it.

Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s minister of information and culture told journalists in Abuja on Monday that the President would not follow the habit of his predecessor who was of the habit of sending congratulatory messages to winners of elections regardless of party affiliation immediately after announcement of results.

Governor Dickson of Peoples Democratic Party was recently re-elected for a second term in an election that was marred by violence. He defeated Timipre Slyva of All Progressives Congress, APC, the party of President Buhari.

There have been calls, especially from Senator Ben Bruce, a Bayelsa State PDP Senator and other members of the party that President Buhari should toe the path of former president, Goodluck Jonathan who issued statements to congratulate members of the opposition party who won governorship election during his tenure.

Politics / Biafra Is Not Dead, Will Never Die, MASSOB Replies Obasanjo by blessingjude: 5:23pm On Jan 18, 2016
The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, on Monday, told former President Olusegun Obasanjo that “Biafra is not dead and will never die”.

Obasanjo, while presenting a paper entitled: “Resurgent Biafra Agitation: Born in Error, Ignorance and Frustration,” at a public discussion on Biafra, organised by Nextier Advisory in Abuja, on January 15, had said Biafra was a dead issue.

The former president dismissed the current agitation for the resurrection of the Biafra secessionist agenda as a hopeless and futile exercise.

Advising Nigerians, especially the people of the South-East, not to take the pro-Biafra agitators seriously, Obasanjo said, “No right-thinking person who has experienced the horror of war will ever agitate for more war.

“Nigeria cannot afford to go from Boko Haram insurgency to any other insurgency under any guise.
“And on no account should we wittingly or unwittingly allow this to happen again.”
However, reacting to Obasanjo’s comments, MASSOB, through its Director of Information, Comrade Samuel Edeson, said Biafra was not dead, and would never die.

In a statement made available to our correspondent in Enugu, the MASSOB spokesman noted that Obasanjo had tried to destroy the pro-Biafra group in the past, during his time as the country’s president.

Edeson boasted that the struggle for the actualization of Biafra survived, despite persecution masterminded by Obasanjo’s administration, including the killing of about 1000 MASSOB members at Umulolo, Okigwe, in Imo State, on March 29, 2003.

Yujin:
When insurgency starts let no one blame any of us. You can never gag millions of people who share the same ideology. We don't want Nigeria. She has no value for life and no positive plan for us. If you think you can militarily suppress us you are joking. Nigeria will keep on bleeding until she goes down on her knees. Its only a matter of time until we resist weapon for weapon. Demonic contraption called Nigeria. The shame of the black race and good for nothing giant of Africa. [/qu[quote author=1after post=42097554]

The only negatives I do not like about these early morning jogging exercises are:

1. it will make more people to emigrate to our blessed region

2. More investors will also relocate their businesses to our regions.

3. Incoming investors will not consider the secessionists region for future investments.

Are you serious?
