yes the batery has to be charged regularly to enjoy inverter light. you did not mention the size of the inverter you are using, if you are using 2500w above they should have good charging system. which will charge your batery within 4hours. you can also use generator light as back up to charge your inverter.

to gbekumoyan , yes it is possible ,you can charge it with generator.but becarefu notto over load it.
