Business / Re: What Is Wrong With Communism ? by BLINGZ88: 6:58am On Oct 01, 2017
communism never works and will never work. people need incentive to put in their effort. and all the communism the world have practiced is just a form of dictatorship. do you know the meaning of "Soviet" in USSR. it means advice or committee, meaning that the Soviet union was meant to be ruled by committee of farmers and workers but that didn't happen, did it?. Stalin became a dictator, and so did Fidel Castro, chairman Mao of China too.
communism is just a can of worms.

Kindly name 5 technical issues they have not solved yet?

Can you show sensible proof of their poor financial statements?

We the concerned customers are interested. Thank you very much sir.
1.like where will they get the internet from? I understand that they will use satellite but the normal satellite dish you and me are used to are just good for download and not for upload. meaning that it can only receive data and not send, and the video call they are promising requires two way transmittion, upload and download.
mind you, there are satellite dish that also send data to satellites and receive but they are verrrrrrry costly and subsidizing it for 3k, they simply can't make profits.

2. is that latency of satellite communication. let's just assume that they dash people the expensive dish that can also upload data, the time it takes to upload from you decoder to the satellite and also receive is just too long, making the video conferencing thing more like video message.

3. is the ncc rule about how low you can sell data to avoid unhealthy competition. remember when glo wanted to give 200mb to people on Fridays, the ncc stepped in and told them that they can't do that, that's why you have to qualify for the data by using some amount of airtime during the week. just 200mb and ncc are crying talk more of 20gb for 3k.
some of my reasons here maybe are to technical but I have done extensive research on these things.
I truly and hopefully wish that tstv proves me wrong .

I'm skeptical about this whole tstv issue. they are over promising. they are so many technical issue I don't think they have solved yet. and the company doesn't look financially supported.
Business / Re: $9bn Has Been Used By FG To Defend Naira, Says Senate by BLINGZ88: 3:13pm On Sep 27, 2017

Theory. many foreigners do business in Nigeria ,in fact many are doing things Nigerians should be doing. If Nigerians were doing those things then we don't need foreigners here to do them. DSTV,Shoprite, come to mind. The biggest palm oil business is foreign owned. Those foreigners that will do business will and those that won't won't . The main problems for business in Nigeria is not exchange rate but security and power.
foreigners that you have mentioned only invest in services and not in production. services are easier with little risk. take dstv for instance, no major investment with nigeria in mind, their satelite just beam down their service here and shoprite import most of their good from south Africa so we are just a market for their goods. I know that they are more companies but the ones that matters are not here and the monetary policy is not helping ( I'm not saying that all this is because of cbn policies)

hindsight is a good and bad thing. Did they envisage price of oil being near zero? Not that oil at the time was circa $80.

Now it is less than $60 and was about $41 at a time. What did gej do with the accrual when it was over $100?
good luck tried to boost the economy with massive spending, I think the only problem with his administration was that they was no will for massive production. Well let's forget about the past and focus on the future.

...I don't think you will survive existence for one month if we allow the naira float..please dear,be careful what you wish for
that's the fear of the unknown. I'm guessing the cbn has their reasons but I'm point is that the current forex policy leads to many uncertainty and no one want to buisness where their is uncertainty.

APC never promised parity with the dollar. If you think they did, provide a link pointing to that. It is the handiwork of mischief makers.
not to get political but I did see a poster where they said is that $1 to #208 naira is not ok.

So if the naira floats won't the CBN sell dollars? They still have to sell. The truth is the Naira is just a CBN debt to those who have naira in their pocket. If the CBN cannot defend its debt it becomes valueless and people will even ask to be paid with goats and rice rather than in Naira. In short the foreign reserves belongs to those carrying naira in their account.Your share of the foreign reserves relates to your share of the total naira in circulation. If you cannot get it when you want it the Naira has no meaning
Peole fail to grasp that concept: Naira is a CBN debt or promise. People belive that promise based on the size of foreign reserves
they will but not with the aim of increasing naira's value. the market is so uncertain that foreigners(with dollar) don't want to do buisness in nigeria because the risk is too high without much benefit. float the naira, withdraw regulation on forex and let's see what happens, they are just playing politics with the economy. Let the naira find its place in the world.
Business / Re: $9bn Has Been Used By FG To Defend Naira, Says Senate by BLINGZ88: 7:06am On Sep 27, 2017
its not like cbn is dashing the money to banks, they sell it to them to reduce demand. it is not a good solution and I believe that the naira should be allowed to float. this government should forget their promise of #1 to $1 and try to act positively for the economy.

Politics / Re: What Measure Do You Think We Can Use To Generate 24/7 Electricity? by BLINGZ88: 5:46am On Aug 09, 2017
Bacon21:

Can you explain the unpredictability of solar and wind?
when using sold and wind turbine, they has to be a smart grid connected to a gas turbine that will pick up the load when the sun suddenly reduce in intensity though to an over cast of cloud, same with wind turbine, the speed of the wind might pick up or slow down unexpectedly and this harms the power grid and even your home appliances. there is a solution to this problem but it requires nigeria to invest so much more in transmission that it makes the cheap solar not so cheap anymore. about BASE LOAD, this is the minimal amount of power needed for a country to function normally, for simplicity, let's just say that it is the amount of power used at night when all the major companies and firms have shut down, where only the residential areas are using the power. solar can't provide the power at night, and wind still has the limitation of picking up speed and losing down uncontrollably. with coal (or nuclear) the above problems do not occur because one can simple regulate the amount of power coming out from the power plant at any given time.

nanizle:

Coal actually does have a huge role to play if we aspire for uninterrupted power. Coal and hydro should ideally form our base load capacity. I would have mentioned gas too but pipeline vandalism is still a problem. Gas turbines should handle peak load.

Since you mentioned pollution... Why don't you stop entering vehicles that use hydrocarbon fuel since you are so concerned about pollution. undecided
Or you'd be more comfortable with nuclear power in naija?

We do have clean coal technologies now.

The top world economies still rely on coal power for good reason.

U are giving me hope that we still have people with sense in nigeria. we have to tackle the base load first through coal or nuclear (with I support whole heartedly ). all this people talking about solar and wind have to know that we can't support it at the moment because it is too unpredictable. industries just can't rely on it.
