Those people are struggling with what's called identity crisis. And to be honest, it's not entirely their fault.

If you go to some places like Opobo, they bear Ijaw names but speak Igbo. A good example is the current Governor of Rivers State.

If you go to Omoku, they bear Igbo names but speak a different language. The state is in-between Igbo and Ijaw speaking states. And when acculturation happened, it disorganised it.

Omoku speaks Igbo.

If you are looking for Ijaw in Rivers, you go to the wetlands and creeks.

Even they are mixed Igbos, with efik and then ijaw blood.
