Star-Boy,Wizkid will not be performing at this year’s edition of the annual Nigerian Breweries PLC sponsored musical concert roadshow, Star Trek. The reason why Wizkid wasn't added to the list of entertainers performing at the Star Trek event was due to issues surrounding his performance fee. The source said that WizKid was initially offered a whopping N3 million per show and was given a total of four shows which would have seen him walk away with a fat sum of N12 million, but his managers were said to have turned down the deal saying the amount was too small for an artiste of Wizkid caliber. The organizers were tempted by the electrifying artiste and upped the amount to a huge N5 million per show but quickly changed their minds and replaced him with two other musicians for less the amount offered WizKid. Sources also claim that when Wizzy realized that the organizers weren't going to increase the initial N3 million fee, he ran back to the Iganmu, the headquarters of the brewery company with mentor Banky W but was turned down as he realized he had been replaced by two other artistes >>Get More entertainment Gist HERE<<

This is the new leader of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram. His name is Muhammed Marwana and he has been speaking on how he intends to prove his authority. He said: “I personally instructed the attack in [Sabo-Gari] Kano to prove to the world that, I am the real leader of Boko Haram because there have been retrogressive forces on the issue of dialogue, who kept doubting my leadership in the sect. I told them ahead that there will be attack, and it has happened. It is a warning, and we need to say again that we carried out the attacks in Kano” This same Boko haram leader has been in negotiations with the Nigerian government appointed Amnesty Committee " headed by a government minister, but he said they are doubting him hence he had to order the latest bombings in Sabo-Gari area of Kano which killed over 40 people. Mohammed Marwana released an audio message obtained where he added a new twist to the controversy surrounding the authenticity of the faction of the sect in talks with government and recent claims that the old leader of the group, Shekau, was deposed after he was shot. Speaking in Hausa language, Marwana debunked speculations that Shekau is dead. Marwana stated that Shekau is alive and that nothing has happened to him except that he lost leadership of the sect to him. “Shekau is alive contrary to speculations, except that he lost leadership of the sect. I will not tell you where he is, but he is alive, and we talked with him not up to three hours ago, except if he died while I am talking.” >>Get HOT Gist on entertainment and politics HERE<<

After visiting several locations known to be red-light districts, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) through its secretary for social development, Mrs Blessing Onuh, announced a “total ban” on próstitution throughout the nation’s capital city. A 48-hour ultimatum was issued for all women of easy virtue to vacate the city and quit the job “because they constitute a nuisance in the city”. She added a fatwa on their male patrons who ruined “some of the girls [who] are under-aged”. Other severe measures were lined up; security agencies actually combed some of the red-light districts and made several arrests. But rather than the scourge abating, it appears undying like the proverbial phoenix.Próstitution in Abuja has metamorphosed from the conventional sedentary practice in local brothels to a sophisticated cartel of “runs babes” and the corporate realm. The “executive” type now holds in many luxury hotels in the Abuja metropolis and the exquisite homes of the super-rich. Notorious spots include Port Harcourt Crescent, off Gimbiya Street, Garki; Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent and Sheraton Junction in Wuse II; and virtually all the discotheques. Even in poor neighbourhoods like Nyanyan, Mararaba and Gwagwa, little girls have joined the illicit trade. They parade a horde of half-unclad girls and women of various ages and sizes brazenly exposing themselves, while openly and desperately beckoning on motorists and passers-by to pick them for the night. They insult, poke rude jokes and pour vituperation on those who look at them scornfully or ignore them.Indeed, for Abuja’s affluent and powerful men, it has become commonplace to place order for these women on the street or import them from other states and even from far-flung countries in the Caribbean and Asian countries. High-society social, political functions are incomplete without a harem of these shadowy women. The import of these is that the upsurge requires a holistic framework to be able to deal with this seemingly intractable scourge. Although the focus is typically on the females, no heteroséxual próstitutes exist without willing male companions ready to pay the price for their services. Blamed for the resurgence of this social vice are the lack of job opportunities, the lack of education, and other socio-economic issues such as low self-esteem or psychosis. The flourishing religious centres have provided no succour either. Since the menace is defying these stereotypes – for example, a former minister once confessed that our tertiary institutions were churning out more prostitutes than career-ready graduates — education and religion must be tweaked towards combating it. Parents, civil society and the traditional institutions should embrace family values and expose those who flaunt illicit wealth and inculcate the right ethos in the adolescents to discourage the evil act. Most importantly, the government should provide jobs, encourage entrepreneurship and provide an enabling environment for the realisation of opportunities and sense of self-worth. Our young daughters and sisters must be discouraged from selling their bodies to filthy and immoral men who have nothing but money, HIV/AIDS and other venereal diseases to offer. >>Get More Hot Gist HERE<<

Area activist Rocky Twyman and other protesters set up shop outside The Mrs. Carter Show at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. warning Mrs Obama and other concert goers that Beyonce and Jay Z were possessed by demons. According to him, Beyonce Knowles is a demon and if you attend her concert, you are consorting with evil. More so he believes that Jay-Z and Beyonce’s music is “corrupting young people,” especially the ones in the Black community. Carrying signs with slogans such as “Jay-Z and Beyonce Are Possessed by Demons,” the group urged Michelle Obama to refrain from attending the concert with her daughters, Sasha and Malia, to protect them from exposure to demonic principles and unholy messages. Twyman, 64, of Rockville, a retired public relations consultant who describes himself as a devout Christian, came to public attention several years ago when he founded the Pray at the Pump Movement, a group that held prayer vigils at local gas stations praying that prices would drop. He said, “We believe that this couple is virtually destroying our youth,” Twyman said. “If you go on the Internet, you’ll see stories about how they’re both part of the Illuminati and you can see Jay-Z’s use of the Satanic triangle symbol when he performs. Jay-Z even declared himself to be God by referring to himself as Jehovah, and we don’t think that this is the image that our young people need to be glorifying.” Some of people who encountered him were not receptive to his message as they were screaming or yelling ‘Beyonce!’ or showing pictures of her in front of him. Twyman has vowed to continue with his protest. “I’m going to look up the Beyonce tour schedule and see where she will be and when. Then I’ll get in touch with our people in different states and try to do what we’ve done here, all over the country.” Twyman group of protesters is often small but he says he is not bothered about the number because the Bible that says ‘When two or three are gathered together in my name I will be with them and I will bless them.’ For more gist CLICK HERE

A Kenyan lawyer, Dola Indidis, is suing the State of Israel, the Republic of Italy for the trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ which the lawyer claims was unlawful. Dola Indidis, a Roman Catholic, is petitioning the International Court of Justice, to nullify Jesus’ conviction and death sentence by Pontius Pilate. Indidas is accusing Pilate, who was the Roman governor of Judea, of “judicial misconduct, abuse of office, bias and prejudice.” For Indidis, it’s all about human rights, and he feels as though Jesus suffered greatly. In particular, the lawyer is challenging the modes of questioning used in Jesus’ trial more than 2,000 years ago. Indidis told Kenyan Citizen News: Jesus came here on Earth as a human being. Now when he died, he was not given an opportunity to be heard. No one speaks for him. Indidis first brought his case before the Kenyan High Court in Nairobi in 2007, but the court refused to hear it, saying it lacked jurisdiction. Now he is turning to the International Court of Justice, often referred to as the World Court, which is best known for ruling on territorial disputes between members of the United Nations. Indidis’ petition has surprised Christian leaders in Kenya. But Indidis seems undeterred and points to the example of Joan of Arc, the 15th-century saint who led the French to major victories against the English before she was captured and burned at the stake. A quarter-century after Joan’s death her conviction was overturned by a papal court, and in 1920 she was canonized. Abeg, dear readers, what do you think? Maybe it's me that does not see sense in this lawyer's disposition. Do you? Get more gist here
