Even in business, if you are not making progress, you are expected to change direction. But these gamblers only change from one betting platform to the other until they become extremely wretched.

The fee has been reduced very very significantly from 0.5% to 0.005% (almost zero percent!) in order not to throw away the baby with the bath water and help FG deliver on the purpose meant for the fund.

0.005% on N100k (one hundred thousand naira) for example is a paltry N5 (five naira) and N50 charge on N1 million naira so it makes absolute sense, low and fair enough in my opinion. Most transactions of the poor range between N1k and N100k so the highest a poor person will pay as cybercrime fee is N5 and lowest is 5 kobo!

There's so much at risk so there must be deliberate effort to sustain the security architecture around this crime.

Your analysis is false and Misleading.
0005% of N100,000 is not paltry N5. It is not even N50. It is N500. And N5000 will be the fee for N1,000,000 transaction. And it will be N50,000 for N10,000,000. Given the level of devaluation of the naira. Where $1000usd is equal to N1,663,000.

How reasonable is it to defend such stupid and exploitative levy?

Bear in mind, if I send N10,000,000 to someone for a project, 50k will be debit along othe charges, the project manager will also get debited by equal amount if he spends the same amount and everyone who receives this amount will also get the debit alert as long as the payment keeps going.

With the velocity of digital payment that is even higher than the velocity of cash, that N10,000,000 will generate N6,000,000 within Six months for CBN. Only fellow economics will understand.

Now, every company is expected to provide security and safety for its factory, where houses and shops. But despite the trillions that the banks declare every year and the lavish lifestyles of the Bank MDs and Directors, but the hapless and helpless nigerians are expected to pay for the security and safety of the banking transactions which they are already being charges all manners of charges from stamp duty, electronic levy, card maintenance etc.

And this notion that the poor will not be significantly affected is a white lie.

The same stupid argument was made for removal of fuel subsidy, that only the man with 5 SUVs will suffer the removal of fuel. Now we all know better.

If this useless and senseless cybercrime levy is implemented, even the telecom companies will add the levy to their data price.

The poor will still pay the money because every business will mark up their prices with the levy. The big man, the companies and traders can push the levy to the consumers of their products. .

Now let us go into the history of how such money will be used.

Just look at the stamp duties proceeds so far. What do we see. No accountability.

Only the poor will be dealt with severely.

I support apc but this Ododo is damn irritating. I don’t have anything against him or his mode of operation. Infact I don't know anything about his administration or how he became a governor. Whenever I see a man bleaching his skin, I always have this feeling he is irresponsible.

It is usually borne out of inferiority complex. Only an insecure man will think bleaching his God given skin will make him feel and look better in the eyes of others. They usually end up with Skin Cancer. Same goes for bleaching women. Lack of true confidence, lead people into it.

Instead of focusing and developing their inner beauty, they focus on outward appearance.

The pathetic part is, once you start bleaching, you cannot stop, they are like drug addiction, they can steal to buy bleaching creams because they do not want to go back to their original skin colour anymore.
