Protesting is one thing, but hiding in London with your family while sponsoring civil unrest back home crosses into the realm of terrorism. Reports suggest he traveled internationally raising funds to engineer instability in the South East. Many of his mercenaries, deprived of other means of support, turned to kidnapping and contract killings to survive.

Kanu represents a significant threat to Nigerians as a whole. He lacks widespread grassroots support, commanding only a small faction of anarchists, and therefore does not have the legitimacy or popular backing to justify release. For the safety and stability of the nation, he should remain in custody.

I might offend some people by saying this, but Kanu is not the solution. We already have a democracy. Any grievance can be handled democratically not by an anarchist 5th columnist.
