He never lived in Igbo land, so it is senseless to think that he was fluent in the language. His Igbo books like his nupe books were written by ex-slaves. He only published them.

The Igbo-ukwu and lejja archaeological evidence show that the Igbos were already smelting iron over 4000 years ago. Long before your Yoruba came into existence.
The Nri kingdom and Aro confederacy prove that the Igbos were already a thriving civilization as their influence can still be felt in Igbo land till date. These civilizations predate your Yoruba history by several thousand years.

The incursion of the Atta of Igala on the northern fringes of Igboland was repelled by the Aro confederacy otherwise the Igbo culture would have been subsumed by the Igala culture. Igala still remains an ethnic minority while the Igbos are a super majority. Also, if the Atta of Igala had ruled Igboland as you claim, the influence of Igala culture would have been evident in all of Igboland, but that is not the case. Igala influence can only be seen in the northern fringes of Nsukka through their masquerades. The said masquerades have long been subsumed under the Igbo culture as the Atta was conclusively defeated by the Aro confederacy.

It is worthy of note that Ajayi Crowther Following the British Niger Expeditions of 1854 and 1857 published an Igbo primer written by a young Igbo missionary named Simon Jonas, who travelled with him to Aboh in 1857. He also published one for the Nupe language in 1860, and a full grammar and vocabulary of Nupe in 1864.
Historical evidence prove that the Igbos were already interacting and trading with the Portuguese in the 1400s. Some of the Igbo-ukwu artifacts are chemically related to archeological sites in Asia and North Africa (notably Egypt) which proves that the Igbos were probably trading with those civilizations.

Indeed my ancestors and your ancestors are not in the same league. The Igbos were already a sophisticated republican nation built on commerce and mutual prosperity, while your ancestors were a bunch of feudal kingdoms that drowned themselves in human sacrifice and barbarism which you tout as culture. The Igbos believe that all men are equal under God while your ancestors were subjugated by their overlords whom you call your Obas.
