Hi All, What happens to your old MRP passport when you are issued the new epassport? Are you required to turn the old one in? I'm asking because my current passport contains a US B2 visa valid for a couple of years. Thanks |
Hi All, Anyone applied at the London US Embassy recently? I've got an interview for a US holiday visa in the next few days. Have been rejected twice in the past: first in Lagos and three years ago in London. I was a student on both occasions. Now I've been working in a graduate job for two years, I've decided to give it another shot. Got letter from employer, payslips, bank statements and employment contract. Any more tips? Anyone? Cheers |
Thanks guys for all your responses. However, I think you may have misunderstood the kind of US visa I want to apply for - It's a holiday (B2) visa not a student one. I hope to visit for a few days at some point this year whilst on annual leave. @imperiouxx: I don't think applying in 9ja is a good option. How can I present parents' properties as strong ties to 9ja when I've not been for a while (about 3 years now)? @ phy, adolite and abats4naija: thanks for your responses. I'll give it a shot at the London embassy and see what comes out of it. Thanks All. |
Hi @Imperiouxx Thanks for your response. If the whole point is to show strong ties to a country other than the US, then, I'm not sure trying in 9ja is any better than trying in London as I've not been to 9ja for a while. Moreover I've been working in UK for two years so my job is tied to UK and not to 9ja. If I were to try in 9ja, I'm wouldn't be able to demonstrate strong ties (e.g. employment) to 9ja cos I don't have a job there. Thanks |
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone can share their experiences regarding application for US NIV at the US Embassy in London. I've applied twice in the past whilst studying and I was denied on both occasions. Sad Now that I've been working in England for almost two years, I'm thinking of giving it another shot. I'm on a TIER 2 General Visa and my job is my only tie to the UK, I'm wondering if that'll be enough? Has anyone successfully applied at the London embassy recently? Did you submit your supporting documents at the first window or during the actual interview at the second window? Any tips will be appreciated. Cheers |

yea! it's a good idea. I am into java & c#. The guy who's into game programming: i need loads of that men! my email is bobotimi1@yahoo.com |
The software market is a lucrative field if you are good for what you do. It's self employing; i mean as a developer, if you advertise your self well ( your work will speak for you), you are bound to always come across one person or the other who wants to upload a website or build one small application or the other. But you must be good; c#, java, php, mysql etc. Also it pays to know hardware too; maintenance & repair, networking etc. All these will take time to acquire but it's worth the effort. Cyber-cafes will always have the need for computer technicians P.s: you dont have to spend a fortune on i.t centers and the likes. all you need is the right books, committment etc and you'll get there. |
