Help Analyse PHP Function on Slideshow

Hi Guys, currently working on a project i.e designing and developing a website that looks like this: www.wonga.com. The assistance is needed in the area of the slideshow on the homepage. The slider appears to be a php function that calculates certain bank loan rate. Kindly help peruse/analyse the code that powers the slider and see if you understand how it works.
