Religion / Synagogue Saga Continues - Contractors Released On Bail by Bolanle99: 9:55pm On Jun 20, 2016
Synagogue Contractors Regain Freedom

Weeks after they were granted bail by the court, the contractors that handled the construction of the collapsed Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) building, Akinbola Fatiregun and Oladele Ogundeji, were today, Monday 20 June, 2016 released from the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons after meeting all their bail conditions.

The two engineers had been remanded in prison pending trial for alleged manslaughter and criminal negligence, charges levelled against them by the Lagos State Government.

Following the ruling of the judge that they be remanded in prison custody, their bail application was filed and subsequently granted, although meeting its conditions took a while due to their stringent nature.

Having been released, the engineers are expected to be in court on Tuesday 21 June, for the continuation of their trial.

Meanwhile, at the resumed trial today, counsel to defendants cross-examined the witness representing the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NIBRRI) and the Council Of Registered Engineers in Nigeria (COREN), Engineer Victor Oyenuga.

Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) pointed out to the witness the fact that there is no proof of any correspondence between NIBRRI and COREN regarding the report of the committee said to have been set up by COREN which suggested structural faults were responsible for the tragic incident.

The implication of the foregoing is that the report could have been the mischievous creation of some people with a sinister motive to rubbish the reputation of the engineers who constructed the building.

Olalekan Ojo also made it clear to the court that the Nigerian Institute of Structural Engineers is not a creation of law and therefore is inconsequential in determining those qualified to practice Structural Engineering as a profession.

This was in response to Oyenuga’s insistence that the two engineers that handled the construction of the guesthouse were not members of this organisation, attempting to lend credence to his assertion they were incompetent.

The witness agreed with the declaration of Mr Ojo but insisted that the Nigerian Institute of Structural Engineering remains an affiliate of COREN.

Justice Lawal Akapo adjourned proceedings to Tuesday 21 June, 2016 for continuation of trial.

I can't believe this trial is still going on!!! Very complicated and tangled. All I know is, we can't just believe what the media is saying.
Religion / Economists & Financial Experts Agree With T.b. Joshua by Bolanle99: 11:07am On Jun 19, 2016
ECONOMISTS & FINANCIAL EXPERTS AGREE WITH T.B. JOSHUA -
Nigerians Should Prepare For Tougher Times Ahead

Various economists and financial experts seem to concur with T.B. Joshua's grim prophetic analysis on the state of the nation.

Over the years, Pastor, T.B. Joshua has frequently forewarned Nigeria on the impending economic crisis. On Sunday May 29th, during a service live on Emmanuel TV, Joshua somberly recalled how the cloud hovering over the nation had been steadily growing darker, noting that all the signs had been there.

"The situation that we are facing now in our country Nigeria, is not now. The signs of the trouble that we are having now have been long. The momentum has been there. When you see it’s about to rain, you see the sky change. You can’t just suddenly see rain starting. You will see the clouds get darker and people will begin to run everywhere."

In an article in the Guardian, titled: "Nigeria: Between economic challenges and recession", several high profile economists raised similar alarms. The article begins: "That Nigeria is experiencing it's all time low rating in almost all areas of economic indices is no longer news, though not yet experiencing recession but the signs are ominous going by the present unemployment rate, poverty, job losses and inflation."

Dappa Maharajah, the President of Movement for the Survival of the Underprivileged (MOSUP), blamed Nigeria's "visionless attitude and refusal to heed to several warnings from economic and financial experts during the oil boom." for the current economic woes.

A senior lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Peter Medee also said that when Nigeria was experiencing a boom in the economy, they failed to make investments that would have yielded productions. "Failure to plan for the rainy day and the neglect by the previous administrations brought us to where we are today”.

Many of the experts commented on the need for a shift in the mono product economy.
Dr. John Alabi, a management consultant and business practitioner reiterated the importance of agriculture and its multiplier effects of creating income for the farmers, creating jobs for those doing it.

Ironically, the same Joshua has been sounding this counsel for years, warning Nigeria of the failing oil prices and the need to return to the farm, stating that "one day, you will drink your oil".

"Six and a half years ago, I was saying go into agriculture. Imagine if you would have listened to the prophecy, you would have rushed into agriculture; what would have happened to the country today? There would be crops, there would be resources, there would be everything in the town."

Dr. Alabi indicated that when the going was good with the oil boom, Nigerian leaders were contented with squandering the revenue that came from oil the only source of foreign exchange. "Just like the saying that ‘he who fails to plan, plans to fail." He said the country found itself in the present mess because at Independence, agriculture was the mainstay of the economy but when the crude oil was discovered, other natural resources were abandoned.

The article highlights on the need for diligent economic planning at this crucial time, calling on all Nigerians to "brace themselves for tougher times ahead".

Joshua equally spoke on the need for planning in a service on May 22nd, when he said:
"It is only a ‘shortage’ that you are experiencing now; you have not yet experienced ‘large scale. Whatever you can do from now till December - all of your money you will use to buy food - you will not have enough to buy." Advising those in the real-estate business he said, “If you are the type planning to build a house now, stop it for the mean time. If you are in the business of buying land, stop it for the mean time - look for another business. Use that money on the need of people now. You have to continue to cut your coat according to your size. Don't just continue to spend your money on something that won't be able to help you. Spend your money on something that the whole world will be looking for - food, shelter.”

Speaking on the cause of the current national predicament, Joshua said: "How we manage the situation matters. The government can be blamed, the president can be blamed if they are not managing the situation, but they are not the cause of the situation."

Arogbofa, who was a member of the 2014 National Confab in Abuja, also spoke in the article on the importance of management: “We said that things should be better managed. We said that the centre was too powerful, that some powers should be devolved to the States so that they can participate and contribute more, and the governors would stop going to Abuja monthly to beg for money.

On the same Sunday, Joshua concluded by once again using the analogy of a rain cloud: "The cloud has been getting darker and darker and it has not yet rained. Every prophetic word – 99% of it is warning, if not 100%. It is the cloud that has been there ten years ago that has been becoming darker and darker. But because we did not see that cloud a long time ago, that is why we’re crying."

In his beginning of year prophecy to Nigeria, the cleric had said: " Nigeria, we are in a valley. The future is crying for help."

Religion / 'Pray For Buhari Not To Die In Power' - Did TB Joshua Really Say That? by Bolanle99: 4:59pm On Dec 13, 2015
I have attended the Holy Ghost Congress with Daddy G.O. of RCCG, Pastor Adeboye for several years now and would say that I have always left uplifted and encouraged in my faith in God and country. It was a great shock, therefore, when I read the newspapers sold exclusively during this year’s congress titled, FLOODGATES OF HEAVEN which included blatant lies about another man I also love and respect, Prophet T.B. Joshua.

There were different evangelical items being sold in the camp like stickers, wristbands, handkerchiefs, anointing oil, Daddy GO’s pictures, books and audio tapes to name a few. I bought a Christian newspaper titled “THE SHEPHERD” Vol 12 No 13 from an accredited vendor in the Redeemed camp, which had a headline story: PRAY FOR BUHARI NOT TO DIE IN POWER – T.B. JOSHUA WARNS. The article claims T.B. Joshua prophesied the death of Buhari in office, stating that he was not Nigeria’s messiah. The article added that T.B. Joshua predicted that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would take over and later be assassinated by an ex-military Head of State.

Another article in the paper stated that Prophet T.B. Joshua recently held a crusade in Kaduna and addressed journalists at the airport concerning what God showed him about President Buhari. To make matters worse, another publication I had bought, titled “CHURCHMIND”, had an equally falsified story, titled “TB JOSHUA WARNS BUHARI – HANDLE BIAFRA ISSUES WITH CAUTION”. It claimed that the Prophet pleaded with Buhari to personally intervene in the Biafra issue.

These papers were sold inside the camp where government officials were present, such as Vice President Osinbajo, Lagos State Governor Ambode and Ondo State Governor Mimiko. For those who don't believe me, I took pictures of the publications and have attached them.

I am SHOCKED that Redeemed Christian Church Of God could be used to sell such lies. As an avid viewer of Emmanuel TV, I know for a fact that T.B. Joshua NEVER said such. I mean, he has not been seen in his own church since before his crusade in Mexico in May and has not been seen in public since his visit to the President of Tanzania in October of this year. He certainly has not held any crusade in Kaduna or any other state in Nigeria for that matter and has never spoken publicly about Biafra. I know that all prophecies given by Prophet T.B. Joshua are shown on Emmanuel TV.

Since I left the congress, I have been asking myself what could possibly be the motive for writing, publishing and releasing such fabrications? Out of concern, I checked the major newspaper stands in Lagos and could not find these newspapers anywhere else. I went to Ojuelegba, Oshodi and Ikeja – nothing. Does this mean they were prepared solely for the Congress? I can only conclude that they willingly did this to try to stir up a crisis between TBJ and Buhari.

For how long will Nigerian pastors endorse division and spread falsehoods about fellow ministers of God? What kind of religion is this? Jesus is the Truth and commands us to speak truth to our neighbours. I am highly disappointed that such a respectable figure in Nigerian Christian society, Daddy G.O. can lower his standards to such a degree to allow this. Imagine what an impact we would have on the kingdom of darkness if we were one and dropped all of this jealousy, envy and resentment. Unfortunately, the Congress has left me more confused than before I attended.
