Crime / Violent Land Grabbers Invade Holy Trinity Church In Ikoyi, Lagos by BollyGee(m): 6:35pm On Feb 01, 2022 |
Violent land grabbers invade Holy Trinity Church on 26th January, 2022. They assaulted Pastors and some church members. The hoodlums destroyed properties within the church premises. After the attack a certain Mr. Nnamdi who allegedly instigated the attack quickly declared himself the new Landlord, claiming that he had come to occupy his property, even when nobody issued any notice to the church leadership nor member. According to findings by the church, the real alleged sponsor of the jungle act is one Mr. Victor Ochei, a NIMASA Director who reportedly bought the property from a company owned by Jide Omokore. However Timeswatch gathered from Pastor John, the Resident Pastor of Holy Trinity, that the development remains a shocking lawlessness owing to the fact that nothing on record should award an eviction notice to the church which is presently on a lease accord which will only expire in November 2022. Another member of the church who spoke on condition of anonymity described the attack as a violent land grabbing action which violates the laws of Lagos state. Research results on the matter also revealed that the police have been nonchalant about the situation due to certain influences. Infact, Timeswatch learnt that a senior police officer expressed frustration over the case when contacted, stressing that Ikoyi is one area replete with high profile land grabbing cases. This development is a statement that Lagos state is far from checking the activities of rampaging land grabbers who continue to unleash mayhem in various areas using different guises. https://timeswatch.com.ng/lawlessness-land-grabbers-invade-lagos-church-assault-pastor-security-man-members-pull-down-structures-and-occupy-premises/ |

May God be with your son throughout this stage of his life in Jesus' name. Life is in stages and almost every stage comes with a challenge. This challenge just like others shall pass away in Jesus' name. Also, I was born this way (though, 7 months). I'm in my early thirties ... doing very well (health). 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Oil Production Ends In 41 Years – World Bank by BollyGee(m): 11:25pm On Oct 06, 2012 |
Kelskelly: It's amazing the kind of comments I see on this forum. This country is in real trouble if this is the mentality of our generation. I have just a few points. I agree with some of the above but some of the 'so called ignorant comments' are the reasons we need to learn from one another. Let us consider these: 1) Every oil field will peak (Oloibiri may still be producing but not at the same rate at its peak) 2) Can any of the national agencies come out with accurate forecast. This is sad but true the 'so called foreigners' know our land better than us - the Niger Delta reservoirs are not foreign to them. 3) Are the production data collected at our flow stations/terminals reliable? When all the national agencies cannot come to agreement on oil consumption during fuel subsidy probe. 4) What is the effect of oil bunkering on any forecast? Oil may finish earlier than projected depending of level of illegal activities. 5) Oil is the cause of Nigeria's problem and so when it finishes that is the end of our problem. No doubt oil has contributed to our problems but our main problem is human greediness (selfishness). There are countries blessed with oil who have not allowed the blessing to turn into a curse. Let us assume all our oil field peaks today, we still have large deposit of bitumen! So when the the oil finishes, will that be the end of our greediness, tribalism and religious bigotry? |
Religion / Re: Pastor Adeboye: Don't Marry Outside The Redeemed Christian Church by BollyGee(m): 8:12pm On Oct 06, 2012 |
ayobase: I know that Pastor Adeboye is widely known and highly respected. And may be he should not say something like this (let us assume he said it). That is his own opinion/advise (I have nothing against it!). As long as he has not said 'My father said' or 'God said' you should not marry outside RCCG. Also, he did not say when you marry outside RCCG you are no longer a member! I was in a service about 5 years ago when the Pastor said something similar. At first I said within me (this in not right) on a second thought I think it is very logical(whether we admit it or not church doctrine varies widely, couples with similar spiritual roots will see a lot of things from same perspective, managing members from shepherd's point of view should be easier etc.). Again, he did not say 'God said' .... Personally, I believe most churches have been founded on one or more of the spiritual gifts (believes) of the founder (creating doctrinal differences). I strongly believe in the existence of God (I have nothing against atheist, that is their opinion)but i'll rather live and die believing God exist than to discover the truth when it is too late. So I worship in any church that is convenient for me based my location and their doctrine (pentecostal or orthodox). So, I could marry from any of these churches even if my Pastor or G.O says I should not marry from outside my main church. I believe there should be only one church with several branches everywhere(with the level of fragmentation and doctrines - this is only but a dream). My questions are these: 1) Why are people so critical? 2) Does everyone that has been critical follow whatever their Pastor says ... 100%? |
