Trump isn't against only Clinton, but some powerful forces that has controlled America for long. |
Voters waited up to an hour to cast their ballots for presidential candidates as long lines became a signature motif of Election Day in New York, Miami and Washington, DC. There have been some reports of voting irregularities at polling stations. Over 200 million US citizens were registered to cast their votes on Election Day, with 50 million new registered voters since 2012. Long lines stretched often a block long in parts of the New York, with voters waiting as long as an hour before entering the polling station. Lines in Millburn, New Jersey Lines in San Francisco, California There were long lines in Arlington, Virginia as voters tried to cast their ballots before working hours And lines in Phoenix, Arizona Poll organizers in New York allowed batches of people into the polling stations where they had to wait again before they could cast their vote. VOTING MACHINE MALFUNCTION Voting machine problems in at least one county in Southern Utah forced election officials to use paper ballots. The move could affect tens of thousands of voters, according to election officials. Utah accounts for six electoral votes. Programming problems affected all voting in Washington County, with 52,000 registered voters are yet to cast their ballots. Utah Director of Elections Mark Thomas told the AP the programming problems were so far limited to one county. Election workers were trying to fix the computer problems so voters can vote later in the day. There are about 80,000 total registered voters in Washington County. Some 28,000 have already cast their ballots through early voting. In Pennsylvania, a swing state that accounts for 20 electoral votes, election judges in Clinton Township, Butler County confirmed to KDKA TV there were issues with two of their eight automated voting machines. Most of the issues came when people tried to vote straight party ticket. "One voter said when they wanted to vote for Republican Donald Trump their vote switched to Clinton." “I went back, pressed Trump again. Three times I did this, so then I called one of the women that were working the polls over. And she said you must be doing it wrong. She did it three times and it defaulted to Hillary every time,” Bobbie lee Hawranko told KDKA TV. Election officials said they have recalibrated the machine and are confident the problem is resolved. Alleghany County also had some issues. An election judge did now show up when the polls opened in Springdale Borough. Sheriff’s deputies eventually escorted her to site more than three hours after the polls opened. Margaret Vernon had told deputies she was ill. The Indiana Democratic Party sent out text messages to 2,000 voters sending them to the wrong polling places. Indiana gives 11 electoral votes There have been some reports on voting irregularities on social media. The Nation’s Ari Berman posted photos from a volunteer showing Trump supporters allegedly blocking the entrance to a poll site in Coral Springs, Florida, which if it did happen would be considered election fraud because it could be considered voter intimidation. A tweet suggesting voter fraud posted by Emily Youcis shows two black men handing out campaign literature indicating to Democratic voters which number to select on the ballot. Youcis wrongly identifies it as voter fraud. Voter fraud would be if someone attempted to impersonate someone else in order to vote. What Youcis could have said was election fraud but her twitter video doesn’t show where the men where when they handed out campaign literature. It would not be election fraud unless it is near or inside the polling station. A CBS reporter in Carbondale, Colorado reported election officials couldn't access the state voter system. Voters told to come back later. Voters can only vote on paper ballots due to state-wide outage. Late on Tuesday, a fire broke out in a polling station in South Dakota which will delay that state's results. https://www.rt.com/usa/365850-long-lines-equipment-failures-election/ |
Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit in Nevada state court alleging at least four Las Vegas area polling places stayed open "two hours beyond the designated time" during early voting. A judge has denied the request to isolate ballots from those locations. The campaign for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump sued Joe P. Gloria, the registrar of voters in Clark County, Nevada, claiming election officials violated state law in allowing people to join an early-voting line after 8pm. The primary polling location in question was east of downtown Las Vegas, at Cardenas Market, the Las Vegas Sun reported. Clark County includes Las Vegas and the city's suburbs. While Nevada is considered a swing state, Las Vegas is a Democratic Party stronghold and has sizable minority-voting precincts. "This is a lawsuit about the rules of the game," said David Bossie, Trump's deputy campaign manager, according to Reuters. Trump's lawyers asked that relevant early voting ballots be kept separate from other ballots, but a Nevada state judge denied that request on Tuesday. "The petition from the Trump campaign is a request to have us preserve the records from early voting," said Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin, according to the Sun. "This is required by state law, and so it is something we are already doing." Polling locations are allowed to stay open beyond closing time to allow voters already in line to cast a ballot. The lawsuit alleges that Gloria went beyond that allowance, keeping polling locations open "two hours beyond the designated closing time." On Saturday, Michael McDonald, Nevada's Republican Party chairman, said at a Trump rally in Reno that polling locations were kept open so a "certain group" could take advantage. "Last night, in Clark County, they kept a poll open 'til 10 o'clock at night so a certain group could vote," McDonald said, according to CNN. "The polls are supposed to close at 7. This was kept open until 10. Yeah, you feel free right now? You think this is a free and easy election? That's why it's important." At the rally, Trump said the Clark County polling locations were an example of a "rigged system" intended to undo his campaign. "It's being reported that certain key Democratic polling locations in Clark County were kept open for hours and hours beyond closing time to bus and bring democratic voters in. Folks, it's a rigged system. It's a rigged system and we're going to beat it. We're going to beat it," Trump said. Clark County denied any wrongdoing in a statement posted on Facebook on Tuesday. "Also, on Friday, most if not all of our early voting locations had lines of voters when their scheduled closing time passed. As has been our practice for many, many years those early voting locations continued processing voters until the lines were gone," the county said. On October 30, the Nevada Democratic Party sued the state Republican Party, alleging voter intimidation. Citing various examples, the complaint alleged that "in Nevada, Trump supporters and volunteers for the campaign have harassed and intimidated voters in Clark County." https://www.rt.com/usa/365854-trump-lawsuit-nevada-voting/ |

ABUJA – The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court was on Monday, asked to issue an order of mandamus compelling President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi and his counterpart in Science & Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. A Non-Governmental Organisation under the aegis of Incorporated Trustees of Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International, in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/857/2016, equally prayed the court to compel the Department of State Security Service, DSS, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate allegation that the two Ministers attempted to induce Justices of the Supreme Court to subvert the cause of justice. Cited as 1st to 5th Defendants in the suit were Amaechi, Onu, the DSS, EFCC and President Buhari, respectively. Specifically, the plaintiff through its lawyer, Mr. Okere Nnamdi, is praying the court to determine, “Whether or not the allegation made by two Justices of the Supreme Court namely Inyang Okoro and Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta in connection with the criminal-like invasion of their houses by agents of the State Security Service on alleged allegation of corruption, which matter is already in public domain should be investigated and those accused arrested and prosecuted by the 3rd and 4th Defendants. “Whether or not the allegation made by two Justices of the Supreme Court namely Inyang Okoro and Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta in connection with the criminal-like invasion of their houses by agents of the State Security Service on alleged allegation of corruption, which matter is already in public domain, is a reasonable ground to warrant the 5th Defendant who is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and who claims that his administration is fighting corruption, to sack or compel the 1st and 2nd defendants to resign from office as Ministers, pending when they are cleared of every allegation of corruption. “Whether or not the 3rd, 4th and 5th Defendants have failed to perform their constitutional and statutory mandates by failing to: (a) for the 3rd and 4th defendants to commence investigation, arrest and prosecute the 1st and 2nd defendants in this suit based on the allegation by two Justices of the Supreme Court, namely Inyang Okoro and Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta; and (b) for the 5th defendant by refusing to sack the 1st and 2nd defendants as Ministers pending when they are cleared of every allegation of corruption”. Upon determination of the questions, the plaintiff wants a declaration that the allegations made against Ameachi and Onu are “grievous enough to warrant their arrest, investigation and prosecution by the 3rd and 4th defendants. “A declaration of the court that allegations against the Ministers are grievous enough to warrant their removal from office without any further delay by the 5th Defendant (President Buhari) who was also accused to have sent the 1st defendant (Amaechi) on the mission to ensure that the All Progressives Congress, APC, wins all their governorship election cases at all costs and by all means. “A declaration that the allegation made against the 1st and 2nd defendants by the two Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria as deposed in the affidavit in support of this application, and the refusal of the 5th defendant to sack the 1st and 2nd defendants are grievous enough to conclude that the 5th defendant’s fight against corruption is window-dressing, witch-hunt, selective, high handed, vindictive, malicious and prosecuted with gross disregard to the rule of law. “An order of mandamus compelling the 3rd and 4th defendants (DSS and EFCC) to immediately and without further delay whatsoever, arrest, investigate and prosecute the 1st and 2nd defendants in this suit, based on the allegations of corruption and attempt to induce or bribe the Justices of the Supreme Court, in other to influence/induce them to subvert the cause of justice. As well as, “An order of mandamus compelling the 5th defendant to immediately and without any further delay whatsoever sack or cause the 1st and 2nd defendants to resign from offices as Minister of Transport and Minister of Science and Technology (respectively) without any further delay on the ground of public interest, public morality and to unable the 3rd and 4th defendants speedily carry out their statutory responsibility of arresting and prosecuting the 1st and 2nd defendants, based on the allegations of Hon. Justice Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta and Hon. Justice Inyang Okoro”. Meantime, the suit dated October 31 is yet to be assigned to any judge for hearing. http://cherylduru..com.ng/2016/11/bribery-allegation-group-drags-buhari.html?m=1 |
