Crime › Re: Boko Haram Terrorists Kidnap 7-month-old Baby, 12 Others In Borno by BoogieBoogie(m): 11:56am |
Crazy thing avout 9ja is that what goes up ,hardly ever comes down.Banditry and kidnapping for example.I pray we kill this monster our politicians created.... adenigga: There was panic in Borno community as Boko Haram terrorists abducted 13 travellers, including a seven-month-old baby along the Biu–Damaturu highway through the Kamuya axis of the state.
The victims were taken away to an unknown destination when terrorists intercepted two Golf Wagon vehicles conveying passengers along the road.
Families of the kidnapped victims have now made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government, Borno State Government, security agencies and other relevant authorities to intensify efforts towards rescuing their loved ones and reuniting them with their families.
They made the appeal in a statement, lamenting that relatives of the victims have remained in deep pain, fear and uncertainty since the incident, with little or no information about the whereabouts or condition of those abducted.
“The families are calling on government authorities, security agencies, humanitarian organisations and all relevant stakeholders to urgently intervene and ensure the safe rescue of the abducted travellers,” the statement said.

I look back at those years of protests in Nigeria. When Nigerians come out to shut down the economy until their needs and demands are meant.eg IBB must go,etc...Ha NLC is now very toothless..Oshiomhole comes to mind..Those university years .It is well... Gjrich: Majeed Dahiru, a technical member of the Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, has issued a stark warning regarding the evolving security landscape in Nigeria. Appearing on Channels Television on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, he raised the alarm over a potential "mass invasion" of the Southwest if the current trend of insurgency remains unchecked.
Dahiru noted that the nation is witnessing a dangerous convergence of criminal elements in the North-Central and North-West regions. This "fusion," he explained, combines the brutal tactics of traditional banditry with the ideological drive of jihadi terrorism.
He warned that this hybrid threat is no longer a localized issue but a looming national catastrophe, emphasized more that the Southwest is particularly vulnerable to this expanding front of violence.
“The Southwest is under imminent danger of a mass invasion by terrorists. The kind of terrorism we are seeing now is a fusion of jihadi terrorism and people that are known as bandits,” Dahiru stated.
He further argued that this convergence is part of a larger, more ambitious plan by criminal groups. Beyond kidnappings and raids, Dahiru suggested that these "terrorist-bandits" may eventually transition into a phase where they openly vie for control of the Nigerian state.
According to him, these groups aim to seize land and resources while eventually seeking a form of international legitimacy. He cautioned that the country is steadily "inching towards" a state of destabilization that could threaten the sovereign integrity of Nigeria.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Dahiru criticized the response of the country's political leadership. He compared their perceived lack of urgency to that of individuals oblivious to an impending disaster.
“Our political class, they seem to be behaving like drunken sailors inside of a sinking ship,” Dahiru added during the broadcast. How long dem go dey fix this our refineries ?...I see it as another white elephant project...Wetin I sabi sef.... ahmedbflash: https://lekkibizchronicle.com/2026/05/05/nnpc-seals-deal-with-chinese-firms-to-fix-refineries-after-2-4bn-spent-2/ The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Chinese firms to rehabilitate two government-owned refineries that have consumed over $2.4 billion in public funds while delivering little refined fuel output.
The agreement marks a significant shift in Nigeria’s approach to its troubled refinery sector, signaling a growing openness to Chinese industrial capital as the government seeks to convert idle, underperforming assets into functional infrastructure.
Nigeria’s refineries have long been a source of national frustration. Despite being Africa’s largest crude oil producer, the country has relied heavily on imported refined petroleum products for decades, straining foreign exchange reserves and fueling subsidy expenditure.
Previous rehabilitation attempts costing $2.4 billion yielded little measurable improvement, drawing sharp criticism from lawmakers and energy analysts who questioned the transparency and effectiveness of the spending.
Industry observers have described the latest deal as a pragmatic step, noting that Chinese firms have demonstrated strong execution capacity in large-scale industrial projects across Africa. However, analysts have urged clear contractual terms and performance benchmarks to ensure the agreement delivers tangible results.
If successfully executed, the revival of the two refineries could significantly boost Nigeria’s domestic fuel production, reduce import dependence, and create downstream economic opportunities including jobs and local supply chain development.
NNPC is yet to release a full project timeline, but the MoU signing is widely seen as a decisive first step toward addressing one of the most expensive challenges in Nigeria’s energy history. |
