Obsession By Olu Balogun – A short romantic Novel exploring deep feelings of attraction between the sexes. It features three stories, which finally fuse into one. Each story is about a different guy, his approach towards a girl he is attracted to, and experiencing how it unravels: ● Bolade has an uncontrollable desire for Nneka; his friend’s girlfriend, even though he knows it’s wrong to betray the trust. He discovers how amazing she is, only after he messes up his lucky chance with her. ● Nnana fell in love with Tope on the first day he met her and he was convinced she felt the same way but she continues to resist him. After enduring time away from her, he tries again to rekindle their love. ● Segun has had a crush on Titi; his close friend for years but he has never found a way to express his feelings. He decides to gamble on love and reveals how obsessed he is with her. Not only will you be entertained by the romantic side of the writing but also, you will love the way he takes time to describe certain feelings, looks, actions and environments. When I was 10 years old, there was a girl in my class who I was quite certain at the time that I could give my life. So I wrote her a lovely poem over a weekend; I wrote the poem on Friday and finished it on Saturday. And it was, if I may say so myself, a work of sheer genius. It ended with the dramatic words; “your warm embrace may be the last desire of my heart before I die!” I tucked it in my school bag and looked forward with a heart filled with love for Monday, to present to the object of my affections. My mum, while cleaning out the bag, found the letter, and all hell broke loose. Needless to say, she beat the poetic genius out of me that terrible afternoon. But that’s not the end of the story. True love as you know, will survive even the worst brutality. So, I bore my injuries as a worthy suffering. On Monday morning...... Sweet Sixteen By Bolaji Abdullahi – Aliya has to constantly remind her father that she is not a child but ‘a young adult.’ He does not always agree with her. But now that she is turning sixteen, he is sitting up and taking notice. The expected birthday card from him is replaced by a present and no holds barred letter – a page for each year she has lived. It chronicles the lessons he has tried to teach her and the wisdom he has attempted to pass to her. It unburdens the burning questions she has about life and sometimes show through the cluelessness of parental units. Aliya questions who she is and why she is; with her father as a guide on this journey of discovery. An engaging coming of age guide on life and loving for the teenage girl. My Transition Hours by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan – In March 2015, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan made one of those courageous and insightful decisions when he stepped forward to acknowledge he had lost his re-election bid. Through that single stroke, President Jonathan raised the bar on office holders in his country and across Africa. Get this book using the link below This publication is a compilation of President Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership prowess at the helm. It is also a vivid testimony of yet another real life lesson to office holders across this continent of budding democracies-there is life after state House! “Power politics is the hangman of politicians” -Anonymous. It is power politics. Germans call it machtpolitik. It would appear a mismatch if applied to local political constructs rather than the international relations structure it was designed to treat. Machtpolitik or power politics emphasizes the vicious engagements of nations around the world. The selfish struggle to control the flow of resource and dominate apportionments to their own ultimate advantage. Such inhumanity had since been ratified perfectly human by an unspoken earthly consensus. It welcomes threats, as seen in the frenzied build up of nuclear armaments, pre emptive strikes, propaganda, and pack mentality and many other wet works otherwise known as espionage. They are all then encapsulated in a sophisticated international code of deeds. For instance, nations could listen in on other nations’ private conversations.
